Massive spoiler (canon, following the book): [sp]As soon as he agrees for a symbiosis, they missiles land and destroy his station and the garden. I felt a jerk in my heart at the moment when he just pulled his mask off and cried walking down the tower. :saddowns: Fuck you Dmitry, you cunt.[/sp]
I haven't got this ending, Why the fuck did he do that?
Dmitry is the author, though. :v: The devs based it loosely off of the book, but in the sequel, (which will probably be revealed at E3) he will write the story. Metro 2034, the novel, won't be the story.
I haven't got this ending, Why the fuck did he do that?
It's only in the book, he serves as a [sp]relay between humans and the Dark Ones as he embraces their attempts of communication towards the end. He's supposed to stop the missiles but he comes to late and he breaks down emotionaly, losing his stepfather, their younger "brothers" (Dark Ones) and the chance of a unharmful symbiosis between the two. The Dark Ones would be able to roam the surface for anything of value, being able to go to highly radioactive zones and being able to walk in day time. Now they are all wiped out (I hope not) until we get confirmation in 2034, whenever that is translated.[/sp] Pretty much. I don't know what all the rules for spoilers are in this thread, but I'll just throw my question in tags to be safe. [sp]I'm stuck at the part where you get attacked by those dog-things the first time you go outside the tunnels. I get killed no matter what I do, pretty much. Tips?[/sp]
It's a goddamn russian game.
What does that have to do with anything?

It's not the full book, and it's pretty broken.
no it works with all the chapters the whole 2034 book is there.
Not all of the chapters are available online. I don't think they would be selling the book if they were.
Not all of the chapters are available online. I don't think they would be selling the book if they were.
Well it ends at chapter 16
I'm not going to read through the whole thread. Has someone read Metro 2034? Does it live up to Metro 2033? And does Dmitry Glukhovsky keep the same 'writing style'? I loved his style
Hope it does.

I guess I'm not gonna understand everything without reading that book, huh? Dangit, I knew I should've trusted my instincts and gotten it right when I saw it there in the sci-fi bookstore!

Just finished reading the book (Shipping took forever) They did cut a lot of stuff for the game, but the main points are still there IMO.

They may release an SDK, but it's THQ's decision. The game is coming to the PS3. Lastly, the game world may stream seamlessly, rather than having loading periods.
Ohh yesssss
That's awesome. Now we have to wait about 2 months until it's announced, since they'll probably announce it at E3.

Or both PC and PS3?
Only to the PS3? Or both PC and PS3?
Think about it.
I think I'm gonna buy this now that I have a computer that can handle it. I heard it's fucking awesome. :v:

It's linearity hampers on me at times, but the weapons are interesting and there are plenty of secrets to find. There is also a lot to learn about the Metro world if you make sure to explore your surroundings very well, and ease-drop on people's conversations. It's a very dense experience if that makes any sense.
Didn't Nvidia have some sort of giveaway for this game?
Didn't Nvidia have some sort of giveaway for this game?
Like, a month ago I think. [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline]
http://metro.gameru.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=279:-2034-&catid=1:-2033-&Itemid=3 Not a lot of news gets out to the english community with these foreign games, but we now know that Metro 2034 will have multiplayer, particularly a co-op experience. That's the one game console I don't have! :saddowns:
Fucking shit balls and cocks. I missed the opportunity to get a set of armor from Armory because I forgot, and it checkpointed after I got on the tram out of there. Is there a way I can cheat it in? I don't normally condone cheating but I don't want to be stuck with default armor until the last level. [editline]4th April 2011[/editline] Err, nevermind... I didn't realize until just now that you could load earlier chapters/subchapters.

After that chase it didn't even occur to me that there was an armor saleman around. Though afterwards I actually managed to sneak through the entire next chapter and get the 'Invisible Man' achievement :clint:
Err, nevermind... You pick a chapter, then a subchapter, and it starts you from the beginning of the subchapter. Also, the Stealth Suit is overpowered. I stood right in front of a guys face for 15 seconds before he noticed me.
