As soon as we get something on Metro 2034 I'll revamp the OP and bang it up to date.
Having read Metro 2034, I would like to tell you that it has nothing to do with the Dark ones and Artyom barely has a role. The plot is told from a different viewpoint and has a more philosophical view, with less action. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] I can go in a bit more detail, but I guess you guys would prefer to read it for yourselves.
HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGH. Sneaking is bloody impossible on ranger hardcore.. Had the stealth suit, some guy saw me from across the tunnel in the dark. I got raped :smith:

I decided that I was gonna go for the alternate ending yesterday, and I ended up getting it. I liked it, but I still think I liked the canon ending more. Does that make me evil? :ohdear:

Last I saw it was only in Russian.
Nope.
Damn. Well if it doesn't follow on from Metro 2033 then I can wait. Also writing a new story for Metro 2034 the game could be good. I was pissed that the ending in the book was the bad ending and there was something better. Hopefully for the game he'll use the good ending and we see a different world to the books.
Except Dmitry is creating and using a completely different story for Metro 2034 the game..
And it will be great! I hope.

I liked metro 2033 very much, though sometimes I wasn't really sure if the monkey, ape things were able to see me so I just ran and healed.
Well, I just got screwed over by "Nikki the Prostitute." Lost my 42 cartridges  [editline]5th April 2011[/editline]
The game tells you to stare them down. That worked great, and by great I mean it didn't work at all.
That worked pretty well for me actually. Sure, I fell down the holes on the floor a buttload of times so I had to climb again, but still.....

I beat the game on Ranger Hardcore a few hours ago :buddy: Ranger is basically this: You deal more damage, ammo is rare as hell, you take more damage. Combined with hardcore difficulty.

Combined with hardcore difficulty.
Ranger Hardcore is awesome. My first ever playthrough was on that, and now I can't play the game on anything else. A bit too easy though, I mean sure you die faster, but so do your enemies (which is why I wouldn't call it a higher difficulty, just a different difficulty). It's only really hard if you play run&gun (or the part with the exploding amoebas, that one was very difficult).
(or the part with the exploding amoebas, that one was very difficult).
Really? I got trough [sp]the floor with the biomass[/sp] with only my knife and the ammo you find down there. It took like... 7 tries, but i had no other choice.
I always survived, the problem was the same could not be said for the other guy (which had to survive).
Because he doesn't understand that its time to sprint. I had to use myself as a shield on more than one occasion.
I'm kind of stuck at the Library on Ranger difficulty Hardcore, and this how my shituation looks like. I've got 10 "dirty" rounds left on my AK. 3 slugs left on my shotgun. 4 dirty rounds left on my revolver. 1 filter for the gasmask left. And I have no grenades or throwing knives left. I'm so oblivious when it comes to exchanging cartridges. Can't help it.
Playing on Ranger Easy at the moment, I'm dying to try the shotguns but I can't let go of that Volt Driver I found in an early chapter. It's just too damn overpowered and even has a melee attack.

You made a wise choice. Hold onto that thing.

I can't remember what weapons you can find in there, but the absolute best would be finding a Hellsing. That thing is godsend in Ranger Hardcore.

I would love to play this game right now, but considering my PC is shit, I get about a max of 10 FPS at the part with the Amoebas. Also, could anyone give me a rough estimate of how close I am to the end of the game at this point? I REALLY want to know the ending(s) to this game, but I'm trying not to spoil it.

Though [sp]You do have a small part left, but out of what I remember, you have an hour left, maybe a bit more.[/sp]
You're really close, [sp]after the DS6, you reach the point you saw in the prologue.[/sp]
So, just wait for a better computer, and then continue? I want to avoid watching the endings.

It's the moment you've all been waiting for! [release] Metro: Last Light is a continuation of Metro 2033, however it is not being based off the book like Metro: 2033 was, this time Dmitry Glukhovsky is writing a completely new storyline for it, so we can be assured the story will be just as good as the last. Plot: Metro: Last Light is set in 2034, it's in the same setting as Metro 2033 - The Moscow Metro. The station-cities of the Metro are struggling for power using the weapons found in D6. The game still follows Artyom - the main protagonist from Metro: 2033 - as supposed to be the "Key to survival" and "The last light in our darkest hour". So far, Artyom, Khan and the Nazi Reich are to return. New weapons like the bolt-action rifle are added as well as well as old weapons such as the Kalashnikov and the Bastard Gun, it is also believed that there is a civil war involved in the plot.
