You can buy it when you first meet Bourbon which makes the first fight against the bandits really easy because you can take out half of them before they realize you're there. It's great for the Red Army and Black station as well. And it's just a lot of fun to use.

You can also find it for free in a booth to your right in Dead City Part 1, if you don't mind being loud about the bandeets.
Started to play Metro 2033 again. God damn, i love Dead City so much, that background music is so great.

Oh okay. Thanks for actually giving valid points, I appreciate it.
Oh hey, its this thread again.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's been delayed to 2013:

FUCK THIS GAY EARTH
At least there's like twenty games coming out in March so that ain't bad I guess
Read both of the books in finnish, 2034 wasn't as good as 2033 in my opinion. They're both great though. Loved the game as well, after all it got me to the books.
Will check out Last Light for sure, although it's story seems pretty lame so not looking forward to it that much.

FFS the only games I was recently looking forward to excluding Last Light were released last year. There's literally nothing else that's really interesting me that's coming out this year except for maybe Max Payne 3. I won't make it. :suicide:

[*]Core i7 CPU
[*]NVIDIA DirectX 11 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 480 and 470)
[*]As much RAM as possible (8GB+)
[*]Fast HDD or SSD
I just noticed this in the OP. Anyone care to explain to me why you would even need an i7 and more than 8GB of RAM for this game? If anything the highest you should go for is an i5 and 4GB of RAM, it just makes more sense that way.

The i7 isn't necessary, yes but 8GB of RAM will definitely not go to waste. Last Light may not use it, but other games will
If I need 8GB RAM and an i7, it better look almost like in the official screenshots, or I'll be pissed.
When this megathread is locked we'll have to figure out a new title to get back at the Stalker thread with. Let the brainstorming begin. :v:

"We have Communist Nazis, does STALKER?"
"Online DRM never considered. Checkmate, Stalker."
The shooting in metro was my least favorite part of the game and I'm really afraid that's all last light will do. Don't get me wrong, I thought the combat was very high quality and better than most SP shooters out there. What I really loved about the game was the non-combat segments that were oozing with atmosphere. The end sequences in 2033 were the absolute peak of the game and probably among the best experiences I've ever had in a video game. My heart was pounding and I was completely engrossed even though there was very little gameplay. A generic man vs man war plot for last light would kill the game, and I'm worried that's gonna happen. Trailers so far have been more action oriented than anything in 2033, I just hope they're trying to draw in the person shooting crowd and assuming the fans will buy it regardless. In my perfect dream world last light would be about 30% shooting and 70% gameplay-free. Am I completely alone in this?

Hey S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Is your game that bad that your devs want to work for us?
v:v:v
I really enjoyed 2033. It was one of my favorite single player games of all time.
Last light is going to be fantastic, I just wish the release was this year instead of 2013.
If this is a bad bump then i'm really sorry
But how do i completely disable dynamic shadows in METRO? I want it to be 0 MPixel.
Ooh, a thread for one of my favorite games, ever.
This game changed how I felt about shooters. Scratch that, it changed how I feel about video games, period. The atmosphere of this game...oh god.
Whenever I try to think of a good moment of atmosphere/immersion in this game, I think of the surface level right after you leave one of the stations. [sp]It's the level where Nazis are planning on breaking into the station, and you can sneak around them, or take them out with a grenade, engage in a firefight...whatever.[/sp]
I remember crouching behind some rusted barrels, hearing my breathing, making sure it was steady, knowing I had to be careful about 1) not running out of air and 2) not getting shot (gas mask damage = bad). I was looking down the scope of my Tihar, carefully waiting for the right moment when the wind would stop blowing so I could get a silenced headshot on a Nazi on the top floor of a burnt-out building. Oh, and then after making the shot, pumping my Tihar up because it was a penumatic, ball-bearing based weapon.
God, I can't wait for Last Light.
Because I can:

Can it be 2013 now
I want to play Metro!!
new title should be "We have a game still in development, does STALKER?"
[sp]shamelessly stolen from the stalker thread lol[/sp]
Saw the price of 2033 on steam so i had to buy it. Part of me always wanted it.
New gameplay video, it seems that Metro 2034 will have even more sweet flashbacks.

That was highly unsettling for me for some reason.
Who keeps shotgun shells on a plane? :v:

The shotgun sound is very weak compared to how heavy and powerful the 2033 is. But holy shit I'm going to need a new computer for this game.

Stalkers
Stalkers
But they made it seem like no one had been in the plane, seeing as they had to pry the door open

So you honestly think that the passengers were carrying ammunition and weapons with them?
The plane was split in two, of course a stalker could climb in there.
