I'm downloading this right now, i'm so fucking pumped. Only 3 hours left.
Shit.
The game was okay, but the books are really good.
What the fuck, it got downloading and installing and all that, now when I try to play it says "The program can't start because PhysXLoader.dll is missing from your computer."
Upgrade Directx
Nevermind it just decided to work. Also awesome optimization, I can run it on all max at 1600x900 (besides AA, which is disabled for some reason). Actually, why can't I turn on any AA?
Can anyone guess the title?!
Can anyone guess the title?!
I used Babelfish, does that count? :P
Travel Features:
The heroes own a broken training aircraft, a Yak-18, and must repair it and go to the north to discover the fate of St. Petersburg and its metro. For the first time you will learn if someone survived outside of the Mocow metro and see the northern capital after the nuclear war.
Dark Tunnel:
The hero is a young anarchist, a thrill seeker who goes against the system.
Peter:
Peter is a 26 year old stalker and an experienced fighter who passes through many trials and meets inhabitants of the metro he would have never dreamed of.
By the Light:
An incredible adventure story of twelve boys and the grown-up exploits of a stalker, which together reveal the most surprising and dark mysteries of Petersburg and Kroshtadta.
Output Power:
In this dizzying adventure novel, the hero discovers the barren land east of Moscow along with impenetrable jungle, new intelligent life, gladiatorial battles, forbidden love, conspiracy, and, finally, the key to one of the major mysteries of Metro 2033.
Marble Paradise:
This is set not only in Moscow but also in the suburbs in one of the former cities that were previously based in the defense industry. The protagonist has to overcome dozens of miles of empty land to meet with those who have become residents in the Moscow region, faced with dangers waiting to reveal themselves.
Wanderer:
No info.
Last but not least, here is the plot for Metro 2034:
At the station Sevastopolskaya cut off for days to the Great Metro appears the mysterious brigadier Hunter. He takes on the lonely struggle against the dark threat that faced the residents of the Metro, and goes on a dangerous expedition into the depths of the tunnel system. At his side is Homer, an old, experienced station resident, who knows the Metro and its legends like no other, and his life's work is to write its history. When the two meet the 17-year-old Sasha, Homer believes he has found in the broken hero and the girl a perfect pair for his epic tales.
These are the adventures of Hunter, a former soldier and now a lonely fighter against the dark threat facing the residents of the Metro.
Note that the Metro 2034 game will not be based off of this plot but will be based off a new story created by Dmitry Glukhovsky himself that coincides with the previous game's plot a lot more.
I waited for the light to come, then I threw a grenade and ran like hell.
I waited for the light to come, then I threw a grenade and ran like hell.
When i got to that i had about half my health, no heals and only 1 grenade before i even got close to it, took me several attempts to take it out.
I got the gunner with one throwing knife :3
And it took me 2 clips from my AK to kill the driver. Oh well.

I ran, I ran so far away.
I ran, I ran all night and day.
I couldn't get away.
so then I just shot it to death with my AK. I aimed for the head of the gunner, but the damn thing exploded afterwords for no apparent reason.

If you've still managed to stay undetected, move down the tunnel and then take a right and go down to where a power generator is. Wait for one guy to come to the foot of the staircase and kill him with a throwing knife, (Given that you have been using throwing knives/silenced weaponry.) then quickly kill the other two in the next room. Turn off the power generator, (I recall destroying it with a grenade, but I'm pretty sure you can turn it off manually.) and go back up. Now that the lights (should be) are out, wait at the entrance back into the tunnel. There'll be two guys patrolling, don't kill them. A patrol of three men will run down the hall towards where the others you killed/passed earlier were. Follow behind them and quickly kill all three, (They should be in a line, aim for the back and you should take them all out as they start to spread apart.) then go back and kill the other two. By now the rail cart with the machine gun should be coming down the tunnel. Press to one side of the tunnel (Make sure the overhanging lights are out.), and then wait for the car to pass. Quickly run up behind it, throw a grenade underneath on the rails, and watch the fireworks.
... Wow, that was a long way of describing that.
EDIT:
I'm really glad the Ranger Mode DLC is coming out and is removing the HUD. I've been wanting to do a "Arytom's Brain" series, kind of like the Freeman's Mind series, and play through it. This'll just help me out even more in making it more realistic.
Fuck my game glitched right after you crash your rail car at the depot. I can't move, its like I fell through the level. Anyone else have this happen?
No new maps?
Oh, I guess you have to be standing up when you finish the level. I'm going to try that.
No new maps?
Probably not. At least not as part of this Ranger DLC.
how do you kill librarians
you stare at them as you sneak away
how do you kill librarians
They take a lot of bullets before they go down, but you can still kill them like everything else.
In the game, they tell you to stare directly at them and keep your distance and avoid provoking them, but that never really worked for me. That whole level dissolved into a "Run for your fucking life" scenario for me.
It works, but you need a boatload of filters to do it. The darker furred librarians you encounter underground don't even react to that and will attack you anyway.
it is easier just to outrun them. You practically have to waste all the ammo you have on just 1 of them to kill them.
I only killed one for the achievement and did a combination of staring them down and running away from them most of the time.
Yeah I just sprinted through the entire librarian portion and wasn't bothered a bit.
One of the best parts of the game was the one with [sp]the ghosts[/sp].
Yes or no.
