Metro Series Megathread - We Have Developers, Does S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? - Games

quick question. I just got the game for PC and I'm too sure if I'm getting the best performance I can get (yes, I realize it's a intensive game). at 1204x768 and high settings, DX9, AAA (what is this?), and 4x AF I'm only getting about 20~35fps average. this seem right? my specs C2Q Q6600 @ 3.0ghz 4gb DDR3 EVGA GTX275 896mb GDDR3 and why aren't the graphics setting more adjustable, it kind of bugs me. are there and optimization mods floating around?

Having the ability to go up to the surface or explore deeper parts of the metro just to scavenge would've been awesome

I get the error message "The program cant start because PhysXLoader.dll is missing from your computer" upon startup. Any ideas?

Last time this happened to me I got a bug that caused constant sound errors, crashes and severe lag due to loads and loads of vital files being missing. It happens on the first download for loads of people. Once you do that, go into your Metro 2033 folder, find the installer for PhysX and install it. Try to run the game and steam will install PhysX again. It should work fine, after that.

The librarians never really gave me any problems. Sure, they're bullet sponges, but when you're using a Hellsing you don't need to worry about ammo one bit. 4-5 spears and it's down.

As for adjusting graphics settings, the game uses something akin to a "socket renderer." This means there are a series of pre-configured shaders and renderers for the various levels of detail (Low to High settings, etc.) that are swapped out when you change graphics settings but are not individually configurable. This is why only a handful of graphics settings can actually be adjusted; the adjustable settings are not part of any of the renderer packages and are applied after the rest has loaded.

Did anyone else finish the game with a fuckton of the good bullets? i kept saving mine for some bombass weapon/suit but it never came :saddowns:

I'm stuck on the part with the librarians. I keep on jumping at every corner, swiveling my mouse back and forward so my back is never facing away from anything for too long. Great game so far however, fantastic job at making a creepy atmosphere.

The Ranger Pack is awesome! I put it on Ranger easy, and stealth is REQUIRED to complete a level, or else you die! And one tip: ALWAYS PUMP, RELOAD, OR CHARGE ALL WEAPONS BEFORE GOING TO BATTLE. Am I the only one who prefers a silenced bastard over a Kalash?

Loved the game so I just bought the book, me and my brother cant wait to read it.
