I got my copy of it last week or so.. I have a 9 hour flight to America so thought might aswell save the reading for then :D
the ranger pack dlc has been released!
Dont read the thread answer right now
I KNOW WHAT'S IN THE NAME OF THE THREAD!1111
Dark Ones,Dark ones in the all world
Or something like that.
Waiting for Metro 2034 to be published in English here.
I would kill for an open world metro 2033.
Yeah my Steam just started updating it.
Can't wait to replay in Ranger Hardcore.
ok so i got this game for free with my graphics cards, and i have a bit of an issue.
it looks blurry.
now let me explain.
i have it set at 1920x1200, and it looks like it's rendering it at 1920x1080, stretching it to 1920x1200 (some console games do shit like this), and then applying some weird sharpness shit to mask it, and i do not like it. i'll take a screenshot if you want to know what i'm referring to. it adds some annoying ghosting around everything along the top and bottom. it looks bad like this, and it's annoying. does anyone else experience this?
i would set it to 1920x1080, but the game is just insistent on running at something higher than 59Hz, which is what my monitor is going at according to windows 7 (yeah it was 60Hz in XP), and for whatever reason the nVidia control panel's scaling with fixed aspect doesn't do a god damn thing when the refresh rate is higher than the display's refresh rate.
this is all pretty confusing so if anyone might have any info on the game and 1920x1200 and/or refresh rate, respond or ask any questions for clarity.
The game isn't stable.
It works perfect for specific computers
Doesn't work with ATI :saddowns:

Works fine for me and I use ATI cards. I only lag when pipe bombs go off (probably the smoke)
ok the resolution issue is solved by running the game at DX10 instead
not totally okay but eh it's better. and i get really good framerate (70-100 constantly)
When is the lovely PC getting Ranger DLC? :3:
Just yesterday.
I thought we'd have to pay for PC, I love the gamedevs even more now, and because it was in an update I didn't see :3:
Did anyone else get the ~2GB download a couple of hours ago?
Just got this game, absolutely loving it.
Yeah I dunno after the Ranger Pack get put in I couldn't run the game.
I'm hoping the new update fixes that.

Argh what the hell it still doesn't work
I beat the entire game before, why doesn't it work now?
WHYYYYY

Nope.
I'd love to get this game, I really dig sorts like these! One day I will own it!
I got this from the THQ sale. Is this game modded at all? I'm waiting to play it once I finish some other RPG/SP games I got going on. If I have too many stories I go mad.
Can you still get the awesome watch from the German Special Edition. Jesus I'd pay the games cost alone for that fucker... They need to make more watches like that.
Reviving thread, because I just bought it and it's fucking insane.
Playing it with Russian dialog and English subtitles, the way she should be played.
I just finished the game twice for both endings, and as far as im concerned the game felt schizophrenic, but you can see they tried, and put effort into the game, which I appreciate allot compared to other games.
[SP]Both endings really felt as if they stopped half way through, the character not talking ingame, but in the loading screens was silly and the most interesting aspect of the game, the shadow people is treated as if its an EVERY DAY OCCURRENCE. Another soldier and I are experiencing moving walking shadows in my flashlight and the best explanation we get is "the dead's souls walk the land, heaven and hell were blown up in the nuclear fallout" even then after that explanation we never hear of it again.
As far as im concerned the story could have incorporated the shadow people allot more, for instance having them interfere with your hallucinations from the dark ones. Imagine shadow people helping you in a similar way to Prey's spirit walk feature or having a main character die and consequently having his shadow person help you out in the metro tunnels. Hell you could have them stalk you, even posses the dead bodies in some of the trains. The possibilities were endless, but instead we get this whole bullocks story "it turns out the bad guys really wanted peace the whole time". I know its based off a book, but atleast show 'some' intuitive 4A Games.
So im not on a hate bandwagon, I actually really liked the game, just thought it could have been so much more[/sp]
If the title is like "dark, dark everywhere" then, just letting you know, you failed :v:

I take it you haven't read the book. The books ends the same way as the game. And to be blatantly honest, your ideas are ridiculous. It's almost the same level of sacrilege as having Gollum turn into a fighter jet.
Gah. Just i get to a scary bit "I WANT A SHOOTIE BIT" Get to a bit with lots of shooting? "I want a scary bit this is hard!" Damn fun game though
After the update it crashes every time I try to play it.
So is the Ranger Pack DLC out or what?
Yep.

Deviating from the book would have benefited in this occasion, I can safely say that the majority of the Metro 2033 players haven't read the book either.
My ideas may sound ridiculous to you, but take it in context. We already have shadow people... whose not to say they can be developed further as enemies or complex characters, all ideas I said seems possible within the game environment considering its just taking what we already have and running with it.
I shouldn't have to read the book to question the game. They are two separate entities.
