Goddamn library. It's not even the Librarians that are giving me a problem, it's the fact that I run out of filters for my gas mask.
Just got this game for free when I preordered Homefront. I am loving this game's atmosphere and the storyline.
Thats what i did too. Already finished it, replaying it on Ranger Hardcore. [editline]7th March 2011[/editline]
Goddamn library. Revolver is best weapon in game
Always died on the librarian level, and waste tons of ammo. That is until I saw on a website that says look them into their eyes and don't fire. Well Manage to complete but with horrible nightmares >__>
Try not to run or jump, makes your filter last so much longer.
Rated informative, never knew that.
Rated informative, never knew that.
Heres another one: The darker (You'll meet em in the archive) Librarians are much easier to kill because you are forced to fight them unless you have normal/stealth armor. The normal ones can be completely bypassed without firing a single shot (Stare down)

Finally managed to beat this. Glad my monitor is only 1280x1024, managed to turn most of the settings close to max with only a 5770...
The Library wasn't that hard to be honest. Librarians were surprisingly easy to kill since I just dodged most of their hits and spammed my revolver in their face or just stared down most of them. Maybe its because I'm on normal but they felt easy. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] I recorded some stuff of me playing just cause. I never was able to stare down the librarians. I could stare 'em down a little but they'd just run back to me.. [editline]7th March 2011[/editline] I'm gonna replay it though, havent since.. around release.
I always cursed bourbon for never giving me his AK. [sp]But it turns out he left his AK in the back of the vent before he got caught, made his death even sadder[/sp]
[sp]Bourbon was planning on killing Artyom.[/sp]
Yes, it does make me feel better, thanks. :unsmith:
I finished it a few weeks ago. It's a very good and solid game. Though I always seemed to miss military grade bullets when I was at the currency post. The ammunition trader didn't even work when I had the opportunity to buy the armor. I was able to finish the game without, though. I really want to learn more about the dark ones. (I don't consider it a spoiler, since they're mentionned in the first chapter or so). Spoilers ahead [sp] It just seems like you just don't know the truth about them; you're just told (And kind of forced) to eradicate them at the end. You just don't know if they only attempted to kill you because you were a threat to their safety, or they really disliked your species as whole. Artyom also says at the end that "He didn't know if we had lost something considerable" meaning even him doubt this was the best answer.[/sp] I really liked the game for the Stalker feel it had. It wasn't open world, granted, but the post-apocalyptic feeling was great and the gunplay pretty good. Though the bullets could've done a bit more damage in my opinion. (I sometimes had to empty clips in the head of enemies.)

[/sp]
D: [sp]When I tried to not kill them, I just ended being thrown off the ledge and died... Could you spare any hints into how to have a different ending? I'd be thankful. I've given a bullet to the kid and I usually did the helpful choices, or so I think. I'd also be dishonest if I said I didn't expect another ending, but I just didn't know how.[/sp]

I remember moving toward the dark ones during the flashbacks. I mostly wanted to see how the ranger would react, but well, nothing happened. Time for another playthrough!

Couple of good tips in general are to walk towards the Dark Ones whenever possible, follow the orders of whomever you're with, give bullets to those who ask for them, and finally to listen to to conversations of NPCs in the towns.

So how many endings are there? Just two?
Can anyone please give me a picture of the guy who gives you the bastard gun in the beggining in the armory? I want to make an airsoft outfit of him but I can't even run TF2.
Glad I saw this thread again. I got a CD key from my father from when he purchased something from newegg or somewhere. He already had Metro 2033, so he gave the key to me. The key didn't work, so I shrug it off since I really didn't know what the game was. Then later, when the Steam treasure hunt was going on, there was one for Metro 2033. So I found the paper with the key, and tried it again. It worked. I played through quite a bit in the game, but I took a break for a few days, then my computer started to die. Then I got a new one, but totally forgot about it. Now this thread reminded me of it, and now I'm reinstalling, hopefully going to play tomorrow. I'm also going to buy the book. The Metro 2033 series is amazing.
I have a question about what happens if I [sp]don't run towards Bourbon and the old gate in the trippy dream sequence.[/sp] Is it a Game Over, or does something else happen?
Currently reading the book. Will play the game once I'm done.

[editline]15th March 2011[/editline] Metro 2033 is easy and good game, even ranger hardcore difficulty.
I find the book gives good info about the dark ones feelings toward humans. If you can get a copy of the book, I recommend reading it. I like how the parts of the books story not in the core gameplay are mostly told by npcs in the trainstations.
