Anybody had this? Played it countless times, it was awesome. I need to search that thing again :v:
Race for the Galaxy - My avatar. Best card game ever. It's what I call a passive aggressive game. Minimal confrontation (it's a race, not a battle), but like Puerto Rico, you can really mess up everyone else's game depending on the roles you pick on each turn.
There is a free version supported by Rio Grande floating around the net somewhere, but you really need the manual to understand. Actually, the game is so free form and strategic that it will probably take you about 4 or 5 play throughs to "get it". And then it's awesome. I just can't find anyone to play with :( My wife doesn't get it. She loves Ticket to Ride though.
I should post up a big thing on all my games. If I get time.

I own dungeoneer but never played. I bought it for a kids gaming club I run, but then decided the game was too morbid for 11 year olds. So they play Heroscape instead, or Bohnanza is popular with the older ones.
I always liked Risk, unfortunately not many people wanted to play it because of the long gametime. Beside I don't know many people who actually like board games, they're great.
Especially Catan and Carcasonne.

Nobody likes playing monopoly or risk. You may as well just hit "rand" on your calculator and whoever gets the highest number wins.
Now, Anti-monopoly is a fun game. You play as two sort of teams - the Competitors and the Monopolists. Monopolists are money hungry - they charge ludicrous prices, but with a catch - they only develop once they have monopolised an area. Competitors charge fair rates, and can develop at any time, but occasionally have price wars amongst themselves. Each team plays by their own rules and you need to bankrupt the opposing team.
It's still completely random in terms of dice, however, but it is definitely an improvement over monopoly.

For Christmas this year, I am possibly getting Formula D, War on Terror, Back to the Future Card game... not sure.
Oh and my wife has got me a few too - no idea though.

Amongst my friends, "board games" is a euphemism for getting fucked up. So yeah, board games are pretty fun.

I had this small portable version when I was 5 and I played it on roadtrips. Pretty awesome shit if you haven't played it.
