Spoiler about the endings and how you get them: [sp]The ending is affected by mid-game decisions - this has been confirmed by the developers.[/sp]
Well I hope that's how it is because [sp]I saw the screenshot of the 4 buttons the guy was talking about and now while it could very well be the guy lying about the ending and just taking another area and passing it off as the end with his own little story, I'm not sure it is, I could believe it isn't even though it seems like a kind of lazy way to end the game on the part of the developers.[/sp]
Here's one of the posts, can imagine where he might be stretching the truth. He says spoilers but there aren't really any, spoiler texted out the ones I think might be for some people. "Biggest damn disappointment in a long time. *SPOILERS* [sp]Only two city hubs, and they get recycled. Don't believe the hype of lots of cities (for example, Montreal is just one level in a building, no exploration). Most levels are generic, linear sci-fi corridors. Yes, you can sneak around the enemies, find alternate routes and such, but it's still a linear experience with basically just a choice of either stealth or shooting. Don't expect open levels with tons of different approaches or chances to experiment. City hubs are fun, but like said, there are only two of them. Predictable plot that is pretty much just Metal Gear Solid 2 and a bit of 4 thrown in. Better told, though. Laughably stupid ending(s). Not the writing - it's fine if nothing special - but the way they're presented. In the end, you are given with four buttons with each triggering a different ending. Your actions in the game have zero influence and neither will you see any proper resolution, just vague voice over and some stock footage. Reload your last save to see them all in five minutes. Easiest Achievement ever. Crappy boss fights. Confined arenas with no other options than to shoot them in the face. No options for bypassing them, or use hacking or stealth or anything. Now, don't get me wrong. It's not a *horrible* game. It just ended up being rather mediocre with some flashes of brilliance and fun (the augmentations are good, as are the two city hubs) in the midst of tons of missed opportunities.[/sp]"
oh hey it's the resident party pooper
I've been preloading for exactly 12 hours and I'm only 87% finished. Fucking internet, man.
I left my PC on overnight. Not sure why, I had like a whole week to preload it over.
oh hey it's the resident party pooper
He has a right to post things, don't call him out because he's just posting negative things.
Your order has left the building and will be with you soon!
Hurrah!
6 more days for the UK version while the Merks get to play in 3, lucky buggers. D:
Proud to be an American. I promise I won't spoil the game for you.
Proud to be an American. I promise I won't spoil the game for you.
Good, because if anyone posts untagged spoilers I'm going to anally violate them with a Jensen action figure.

I shall make a special playlist the day before Deus Ex gets released. Some futuristic music that fits it and play it on my radio
Hey guys. I was planning on pre-ordering Deux Ex: Human Revolution, as i think it's going to be a pretty good game. Though, i was wondering, do i need to play the other Deux Ex games to fully understand Deux Ex: Human Revolution?

But Deus Ex is great so if you got time for it make sure to check it out
I've been preloading for exactly 12 hours and I'm only 87% finished. Fucking internet, man.
I preloaded for 12 hours and got 16% done, calm down.

Will Human Revolution flow into the first Deus Ex? Will we see younger versions of UNATCO, Anna Nevarre, or Gunther Hermann? [editline]20th August 2011[/editline] Also I think Human Revolution has been preloading pretty quick for me. I didn't expect it to be at 78% already.
What's this 'pre-loading' some of you are talking about?
Will Human Revolution flow into the first Deus Ex? Will we see younger versions of UNATCO, Anna Nevarre, or Gunther Hermann? [editline]20th August 2011[/editline] Also I think Human Revolution has been preloading pretty quick for me. I didn't expect it to be at 78% already.
Well, according to the most reliable source on the Internet, Wikipedia, the UNATCO is founded after the events of the game. I don't we'll get to see Anna, and [sp]Gunther is left so FUBAR after the novel he definitely won't make his appearance.[/sp]
What's this 'pre-loading' some of you are talking about?
They are downloading a sort of encrypted/locked version of the game before the official release So at exactly 00:00 midnight people can play the game instantly
They are downloading a sort of encrypted/locked version of the game before the official release So at exactly 00:00 midnight people can play the game instantly
In theory, in reality you need to wait five hundred more years until Steam has decrypted your files.
What's this 'pre-loading' some of you are talking about?
Steam lets you download a encrypted copy of the game a few days before release to prevent server congestion.
So, I was told by CCC that there was a driver update... "I never asked for this."
Steam lets you download a encrypted copy of the game a few days before release to prevent server congestion.
I suppose you have to pre-order the game to be able to download the encrypted copy? Also, what's server congestion?
In theory, in reality you need to wait five hundred more years until Steam has decrypted your files.
Only takes two to five minutes per GB, shitloads faster than everyone trying to download it at once and effectively DDoSing steam. [editline]20th August 2011[/editline]
I suppose you have to pre-order the game to be able to download the encrypted copy? Also, what's server congestion?
Yep, and it's when a server can't handle all the requests it's getting quickly, like a few thousand people trying to download a 8.5GB game at the same time. :v:
Server congestion will be no problem for me as I'm getting a disc.
hnng why does this game have to come out on tuesday and not yesterday night D:
If you want, you could wait until next friday like the rest of the world...
it's really not even a difference to me if it comes out on tuesday, i wont be able to play it until next weekend when you brits get it cause of school and work
I preloaded the whole thing in three hours and y'all need to chill out.
Why does it take so long for you guys. It only took 30 minutes for me.
I can't wait till Tuesday, as soon as I wake up I'm driving down to the store picking this up.
