I'M GOING TO RUN FOR IT
When Human Revolution is in the stores, I'm going to run for it.
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
The only thing I'm still afraid of is the length of the game though.

Actual spoilers
If this game isnt atleast great, 80/100 material, I will lose all hope in the game industry. I have been super disapointed with tons of titles (homefront, brink, modern TF2, borderlands, tons more) that if this isnt what it seems I will be a sad sad panda.
same, the only new games i've been hyped for and not disappointed by were portal 2 and new vegas :c
Ghost page
I never asked for this.

Ghosts? I'm going to run for it!
I have a feeling the leak was more like half the game, rather than 1/3rd of it, especailly since Montreal apparently isn't a city hub at all I hear. Still a good length though if the average playtime for the leak is 8-10 hours.
Wow, what?
It's been confirmed that it will take about 20-25 hours if you only stay on the critical mission path, up to 60 depending on how much exploration and side-quests you do.

i just wanted to post this video i made
After watching all the UNATCO troops constanly shooting paul in the back, it makes you realize just how shitty the AI is.
if you want i could post a step by step guide on how to make that happen in your own game
it's actually pretty amusing if you get it to work right

I'm pretty sure 20 hours is longer than Deus Ex 1.

*goes back to shooting*
Montreal was the city hub that was cut:
"Not ones to exclude their hometown, Montreal makes a brief appearance in the game, as Jensen visits a re-purposed Olympic Stadium that houses media conglomerate Picus Communications.
“Montreal was originally going to be a full hub,” admits Belletête, who says he has an impressive secret stash of discarded Montreal artwork. “I envisioned what the Plateau might look like, because there was going to be a house Jensen would have to infiltrate there. In our early tech demos, the first city we put together was the Plateau, based on the brick duplexes and triplexes with spiral staircases. It was honestly really stunning to see it in a 3D environment because to people who aren’t from here it looked so unique, but if you live here it was quite touching. We even modelled it.”
I really wonder if we'll just see this as DLC then at some point.
I really wonder if we'll just see this as DLC then at some point.
Maybe.
But how would it fit in? Would it be a post-game hub or would it incorporate itself into the story somehow?
Maybe.

So they didn't include it because of what? They had plenty of time and said it was almost finished.
It could fit in if they'll just change the mission and why you go there, like, if it is optitional and leave the sidequests there too.
Maybe.
But how would it fit in? Would it be a post-game hub or would it incorporate itself into the story somehow?
Half the time anymore, companies just release DLC for the hell of it and don't even bother trying to fit it in anywhere logical.
It could just be an added option on the main menu if they're lazy. Or they can flush out a side mission that randomly pops up during the game (which would suck if you already beat it though and would have to go back).
So there's only two hubs?
Montreal was cut?
Why? :smithicide:
Oh well, Preview's 1/4th of the game instead of 1/6th. I'm okay with it.

No the preview's more like 1/8th
I kinda doubt the game is 50-80 hours, so I'd say it's one fourth or one third of the game.

The developers have stated that one playtester clocked about 30 hours of the game, yet he was nowhere near the halfway point.
I will reply the game 3 times anyway (Combat/Stealth/Social)

The preview took me 5 hours.
5*8 is 40, which means we can assume that 40 hours is the story and most of the side missions.

So the hubs have 40 story missions, and not the 20 which I've thought that there are (since we can see only up to 20 the number of them in the Preview)? Cool.
awe, the Montreal hub was cut.
Sad Canadian.

Yeah but that could be a dude who checks the labels on every single paint can or gets lost in the most simple back alleys, not someone who completes all tasks optional or not, and does a good bit of exploring. Plus, it's a playtester, meaning that they try to get off map limits and find bugs etc which isn't real gameplay.
You people are delusional if you think you'll spend 80 hours in one playthrough
I will reply the game 3 times anyway (Combat/Stealth/Social)
I'll replay it in different ways once or twice, because in the end there isn't THAT much choice if you go on an absolute path. The rest will be repeats of my main playstyle (pacifist ghosting hacking).
It's still looking to be the best game of 2011 so far but you're all getting way too hyped.
I found out I'm getting a new graphics card right on the release date.
My visuals will be augmented.

I don't know man... I played the leak not expecting much and it blew me away
The leak was better than I expected, yes, but there's literally no benefit in expecting too much from a game and getting shot down.
I don't know man... I played the leak not expecting much and it blew me away
The leak just made it for me. Thanks to the leak i am 101% sure i will enjoy this game because it felt not like a cut off demo and secondly i could really play the game to see if it fits me.
If only all where "leaked" a month before the release
Yeah, pretty sure the leak Super Hyped everyone into Pre-Order mode as well, Deus Ex probably gained a great deal because of it, so much so I kind of think they did it on purpose
You people are delusional if you think you'll spend 80 hours in one playthrough
I guess I'm delusional.
