Well, since we in Europe get it in 3 days after US release on Friday I'll do my best to avoid spoilers.
Oh boy, a crack is already out. I'm going to wait until tomorrow though, my patience is augmented.
Oh boy, a crack is already out. I'm going to wait until tomorrow though, my patience is augmented.
i got the improved version, i can hold out until the 26th
I never asked for cracks.
Actually caused them to complain more because it was a very stupid addition that made no sense to use because it caused you to miss shots you could hit just aiming yourself as well as left you defenseless against things you could have avoided, not only that but it wasted your time and wasn't a sufficient replacement for the loss of turn based combat.
Wrong, VATS made the game piss easy, ruined all immersion when you could just spam the vats buton, get pulled out of game to aim and shoot at stuff. I suppose you could never use it but the game was not made with that in mind, I feel the reason they put VATS in is because they were too lazy to develop good gunplay
4 days of waiting, then on friday I have to go out for my birthday. Fucking friends.
I just realised that we will be getting reviews from all the major gaming press outlets soon. I really hope IGN let Charles Onyett do the review, and GameSpot let Kevin VanOrd do the review.
I want to see Yahtzee's review more than anything.

So I'm working on my review and rendering some videos (in lovely 720p) and I was thinking hey this game reminds me a lot of...
Metal Gear Jensen.
... wait. Wait. NO! OH, GOD DAMN IT! /me tosses out his entire review and deletes the videos Son of a bitch, someone honestly beat me to it? I mean I even have a shot of a room in the game that looks exactly like the Control Room on Shadow Moses Island, complete with being surrounded by guard patrols, catwalks, and surveillance cameras. (I honestly think most reviews are going to be comparing this game to the MGS series.)
I've never actually played an MGS game.
I've never actually played an MGS game.
You should rectify that.
Tomorrow is the day. My body is ready. School is going to be slow as FUCK tomorrow.
I played MGS1 for a bit but the PC port is horrid
I played MGS1 for a bit but the PC port is horrid
Use a PS1 emulator and a controller. Easy. Also when I have the time I'm going to replay it and do a more stealthy runthrough, I kept on upgrading random augs and shit without planning what I wanted to do with them.
i didn't think it was too bad i beat the game with the keyboard easily
I nearly finished MGS2, it was weird as all fuck, I never beat Solidus on the New York Library roof.

You can't half ass a mechanic where the game plays itself for you and not give the player a means to provide tactical input in a manner other than aiming and shooting without making a non-functional and superfluous system. VATS is just a button that you press to make awesome happen, serves no other purpose.

I went through a goodly portion of the game using a shitty rifle. With most FPS games I'm shit because I have terrible aim under pressure. FO3 never put me under pressure, so I was able to easily take on super mutants since headshots out of VATS could still make them stagger. The only thing VATS is actually good for is allowing you to pause the game and cycle through targets so you know exactly what you're up against even in pitch darkness, unless you are legitimately the worst FPS player ever. New Vegas on the other hand had a lot of artificial difficulty going round, what with Deathclaws once you're at a level appropriate for the point in the game where you take them on having enough health to soak more anti-material rifle shots than you're likely to find ammo for in the entire game, and Cazadors being such a bitch to hit normally because small target with erratic movements. That being said, I loved it for that, since in FO3 I basically waltzed through the entire storyline wearing the armored vault suit that I bought at the very beginning and using the cheapest weapons. New Vegas gave an actual sense of danger. Edit: Whoa fuck this isn't the fallout thread?
took me probably 20-25 hours (hard to tell because of the implications of using a modded xbox offline) and I did 4-5 sidequests. although I think I'll play it again with different augs and being more stealthy. I would try to be stealthy but I'd usually just fuck up and kill everyone.
Killing everyone is stealthy, no one will be alive to say what you looked like :3
I haven't been following TF2 lately, but I still want those promo items and I pre-ordered off of GMG. I know earbuds are worth a bit, but would they get me the whole set?
Yahtzee is a prick.
Yahtzee is a prick.
Well that is how he makes his living, nobody would care about his reviews otherwise.

If you can't use the fire extinguishers, I'm going to be disappoint.
If you can't use the fire extinguishers, I'm going to be disappoint.
You can
If you can't use the fire extinguishers, I'm going to be disappoint.
You could in the leak afaik, and you could shoot them to make them explode in icy goodness too.
You could in the leak afaik, and you could shoot them to make them explode in icy goodness too.
I used it to blind people, works perfectly
Well that is how he makes his living, nobody would care about his reviews otherwise.
No, the reviews are fine, it's that he's a prick outside them too.
Yahtzee is a prick.
What's he done now?
