Guys, does the Sarif break in intro part of the game count for the no alarms and no killing? You know, right at the start when you don't have augs and get a assault rifle with infinite ammo.
I would assume so. I just avoided conflict with them.
Just got HR for free, love trading 8 weapons for buds on tf2, then buds for games. Been looking forward to the game for a long time too.
Lucky. I need to search for some idiot who would give me Deus Ex for some of my hats although I don't think they are worth that much.
Try a different server. It does work
Yeah, the decryption should be done soon.
Guys I encountered a bug that prevented me from completed a sidequest :/ It's Malik's in Shanghai [sp]I'm in Lee's apartment, I interacted with the baseball bat, his computer and the phone. Malik says go to The Hive and Jensen says he'll stick around for a bit more. The marker stays in the apartment but I couldn't find anything else to interact with besides the fridge. I checked out the quest in the gamespot guide fearing I would have to move it but it turns out you have to interact with the broken clock on the top of the shelf. But I can't use it for some reason, the highlighting isn't there. I figure "ok i'll just contineu with the main story and see if that fixes it", but apparently taking the train to Tai Young cancels all sidequests. I guess I'm stuck huh? I tried saving and reloading and restarting the game, nothing worked :([/sp]
Anyone got a link to that VPN and the guide to decrypt the UK copy early? Just got my code from greenmangaming for £24 so I'm preloading now.
Anyone got a link to that VPN and the guide to decrypt the UK copy early? Just got my code from greenmangaming for £24 so I'm preloading now.
Does Greenmangaming give you a Steam code?
Anyone got a link to that VPN and the guide to decrypt the UK copy early?
Does Greenmangaming give you a Steam code?
Yeah, all retail copies are Steamworks so GMG's codes are also Steamworks. The 20% off code is 20SUM-MERSA-VINGS.
I played this game all fucking day yesterday. It's incredible. Best purchase in a LONG time.
Yeah. And even if it didn't, retail copies activate on steam, so anywhere that gives you a serial key would work.
Since when? I have got like Mass Effect which wont activate on Steam [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] Oh you mean Deus Ex specifically? nvm
Since when? I have got like Mass Effect which wont activate on Steam
Mass Effect was a game that was sold on Steam but didn't use Steamworks, Deus Ex is using Steamworks.
I can't even start steam when I use it.
When I execute it, it launches Adobe Pixel Bender Toolkit. Ah, here's the fix: http://usaip.eu/en/fixpbk.reg
I do like sneaking around, leaving the place like I wasn't even there. But just now some guys really pissed me off, I had to break out the heavily modded 10mm. Not one of them saw me, but I left no one alive in the building. It's the best feeling evading and outflanking people, pulling off a head shot and being gone before they know what happened.
Hi hotshitqq
hey hotshot

Not sure why people say you need hacking to completely this game. AFAIK you only need to hack certain terminals for the story a few times, and all terminals that are required are level 1. For side quests, you can usually just blow down the door in question if you want to get through, the exception is that some sidequests have secondary objectives that you might not be able to complete unless you had hacking skills (i.e. it might be behind a safe). This is good IMO, as it rewards dedicated hackers beyond just exploration bonuses. So far in the game at least. Not sure if it changes later on, I'm still in detroit.
I have to wait until Friday to play, so could somebody answer some questions please :) I have played the leak, so I was wondering how far does that go into the game? Goes upto the first boss fight. And to those who finished it, how long is the game? Is it as long as the original? Because that took me a good while to finish. And is there any good quotes? Stuff that could be like the next A bomb or whatever, I know there is "I never asked for this", but is there any other funny things in the game? Thanks. Oh and actually, did any of you get the augmented edition from Ultimatum games and if you have, did you get the original Deus Ex?

I expected it to be like a third of the game but it's less. The game's quite long, I haven't finished it yet and it's already been longer than I was expecting. As for quotes, the only time I laughed at something Jensen said was when he said 'RIP' to the MCB Gang Leader. It definitely had an air of 'what a shame' to it, but it's far less quoteable.
If people are gonna post quotes of dialogue could they spoiler them? At least if they have some context in the post as-well. Trying to remain pure before I play it.

That great to hear, because the leak took me a few days to play through it since I was taking my time. And yeah I laughed at the RIP comment in the leak, hope there is a few more funny bits. Anybody have any answers on the Ultimatum games thing?
I didn't see this posted yet. [t]http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/7454/dxforeveralone.jpg[/t]
Despite all its MGS influences they really should of taken the boss battles from MGS as an influence too :v: Thats one thing MGS does really well, is that their bosses are real characters and have real gameplay archetypes beyond basic run+gun like these boss fights do. You have the sniper, the psycick warrior who takes control of your controller to the point where you actually have to disconnect the controller from the console to beat the boss, etc. The End from MGS3 was one of the most interesting boss fights I've ever encountered in a game. MGS3 has a similar level of gameplay to this, though obviously a bit more linear. Anyways, imagine playing DXHR and suddenly you are on an abandoned street, and as you walk forward you get shot at from nowhere in a cutscene. Then it introduces a sniper boss and you have to play a game of cat and mouse between this large city-hub like area to try and find the sniper before he finds you using clues in the enviornment such as footprints, your augmentations, etc. That's what fighting The End was like, except replace city hub with an open jungle. Took me two hours to beat that boss and it was the most satisfyingly tense boss battle I've ever had. If you were good you could beat him in a couple of minutes, but if this was your first time fighting him and you tended to prefer stealth yourself, the boss fight played out like a constant cat and mouse game as you try and get the upper hand on the sniper. DX:HR needed bosses like that. They could have had a boss for each "pillar" of gameplay - a stealth boss, a shooting boss, a social boss (who attacks you with social augs that you have to somehow defeat or something), a sniper boss, etc.

Deus Ex: Hobo punching simulator. At least for me. Nobody cares about hobos.
