Potentially major spoilers below, read only if you finished the game: [sp] Wow I just saved Malik, that was intense. I totally broke my no kills playthrough though. I hope she was worth it.[/sp]
I was in the same position. He kicked my ass a dozen times till I got it figured out. Spoilers for beating barret: [sp] The first time, I got lucky, the AI derped out, and he grenade spammed himself to death The second time, I used a conc nade. It's very effective on him. If you can navigate behind him while you're both blinded, he'll lose you and start looking. From there, whenever he gets within taser range, tase him and then pull out whatever weapon you DO have (Modded pistol worked fine for me) and plug in his head. After a few rounds of tase/headshot, he'll go down. If you don't have conc nades, hide behind a pillar. He gets really close to you closing in from there, and will get within taser range. If you don't have a taser, you're probably fucked. You might be able to find one lying around the boss fight room, though. [/sp]
Non-lethal here. Just spammed my Stun Gun on him to keep him still while quickly swapping to my Tranquilizer Rifle and shooting him. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Anyone else having a glitch with the sidequest Talion A.D.? The objective says to read the dead soldier's pocket secretary, and I did. But the objective doesn't update, it just sits there even though I read it.
When you find them, it updates the objective.
I bought the Augmented Edition. Where's my bonuses?
Is it actually possible to arrest Zeke in the first mission? I heard it was but I can't figure it out.
This is going to be one of the few modern games I replay. I feel like I need to do a stealth no kill play through and a rape-everything-that-moved play though.
Ugh, how do I get into the Harvesters' Hideout in Shanghai? The front is guarded by like, 5 guys that I can't sneak around. The air duct on the roof only leads to an empty elevator shaft with no doors or anything, and if you fall down it there's no way to get back up.
[sp]Keep looking around on the roof, there's another air duct up there. I did the same thing, took me like 15 minutes to see the damn vent, sad part is it's hiding in plain sight.[/sp] Spoilers (wouldn't read unless you've finished the game): [sp]Did anyone else manage to save Malik when the chopper went down during the return to Hengsha? Felt badass for doing that.[/sp] I'm currently about to [sp]board the boat that takes you away from Hengsha.[/sp] Can't wait to see where the story goes next. For people that have gotten that far, how much more of the game is left?
Took me forever to get the [sp] basketball achievement[/sp] Not much of a spoiler, but since it doesn't show up in the achievment list at first, I put it in tags. [editline]24th August 2011[/editline]
I bought the Augmented Edition. Where's my bonuses?
It's in tools I think. look for Deus Ex: HR Bonus content, or something.
Took me forever to get the [sp] basketball achievement[/sp] Not much of a spoiler, but since it doesn't show up in the achievment list at first, I put it in tags.
I jumped on top of a barrel and just dunked it in. Still took a long ass time. Guess white men can't jump.
The trailer for the game, the main one where in the beginning Adam is dreaming and turns into an angel and shit. Was it in game? It seems a lot of cinematics were taken out of the games. Also there should be a sequel just because, also what ending did you gentlemen take i took [sp] the Darrow one, tell the 100% truth [/sp] End Credits video talk [sp] That guy was the guy Sarif was talking to in the beginning, anyway i believe that Reed is in the Illuminati. [/sp]
so who is buying the $200 trench coat? http://us.deusex-store.com/product/EGX-D3_COAT-VT-001_Trenchcoat
i would if it didn't look dumb if it LOOKED like jensens, aka was form fitting more like a peacoat and had a lot more complex design to the fabrics it would be awesome you'd still look dumb wearing it though
I just started and it's a lot of fun. No idea what augmentations are useful so far so I have hacking and the social one.
actually looking at it again all i can say is that if the sleeves were done to look more like jensen's it would be very stylish and awesome all around that and if the waist had a little bit of trim to it to give it a slight curve as it draped down it'd look a lot more form fitting while being spacious
I jumped on top of a barrel and just dunked it in. Still took a long ass time. Guess white men can't jump.
I finally stood almost directly under it and threw it strait up in the air. I kept the basketball until I had to leave Detroit, because it's so fun to bounce it down hallways to confuse enemies.
Everyone else did this right?
Yep, and best part is they are all alive.
Is it actually possible to arrest Zeke in the first mission? I heard it was but I can't figure it out.
Yes. You "fight" him but instead of shooting just tranq or shock before he shoots the hostage. I wouldn't reccomend it though, unless you get something out of it. If you let him live he [sp]gives you all the access codes to the doors and security computers at the end of the detroit hub inside the FEMA camp, very handy unless you want to hack everything.[/sp]
Doesn't seem like there is a lot of side quests. I've found like 2 at most in Detroit. :(
Oh god when Pritchard says cholo ahahaha
What is with the character modeling in this game? I swear, random civilians have better textures than this guy...
I just started and it's a lot of fun. No idea what augmentations are useful so far so I have hacking and the social one.
The most important one is the social one IMO [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] Am I the only one who legitimately made the basketball shot
I haven't been to this thread since the game came out, therefore there's like 800+ new posts. So sorry if this has been answered a thousand times, how do you access the Augmented Edition bonus content? Also, [sp]I need to play Deus Ex 1 again, I have no idea who "Bob" is, except I recognize his voice in the conversation with Dr. Reed after the credits role.[/sp] Edit: Never mind, the bonus content was in the tools menu in Steam for some reason.
Damn it so many spoilers, I'm really tempted to click them 16 hours in and I still haven't left Detroit, what up
End Credits video talk [sp] That guy was the guy Sarif was talking to in the beginning, anyway i believe that Reed is in the Illuminati. [/sp]
[sp]Bob Page is the main antagonist in Deus Ex 1. It was a pretty cheesy scene but a nice reference for fans I guess.[/sp]
[editline]25th August 2011[/editline] not sure if late, never am.
i would if it didn't look dumb if it LOOKED like jensens, aka was form fitting more like a peacoat and had a lot more complex design to the fabrics it would be awesome you'd still look dumb wearing it though
Jensen's coat looks pretty BA There probably will be some replicas online soon
One of the best games I've ever played oh my goodness I couldn't have been the only one thinking "punch that bitch punch her in the FACE" during [sp]the cutscene where you meet Zhao in her panic room.[/sp] I mean holy hell talk about cutscene incompetence.
Available: 26 August 2011 This game will unlock in approximately 18 hours
A "The Office" reference? [img_thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/578932219503216676/9EB694666A1FAEB7088A3489A6BA039EEB7C3EA8/[/img_thumb] Oh god, what's the thumbnail code? I don't remember.
