I remember in my first playthrough of DX1, I was too pussy to save Paul, or Smuggler, or Jock. No point tagging it since everyone knows what happens. [editline]17th July 2011[/editline]
ಠ_ಠ?
Ironsights. WHY.JPG

[editline]17th July 2011[/editline] Ironsights. WHY.JPG
I barely even use ironsights... but that's because I chose the long-range non-lethal class.
Ironsights. WHY.JPG
Ironsights aren't inherently bad. They are just used in a lot of bad games. People forget this.
I personally quite like ironsights in shooters. If I play for an hour shooting from the hip, the ridiculous angle of the weapon as it's usually held starts to bug me. After three hours I'll be sitting in the corner trying to work out the physics behind a weapon that shoots sideways like that.
People fire from the hip in real life. If you can't comprehend how it works I'm not sure what to say.
People fire from the hip in real life. If you can't comprehend how it works I'm not sure what to say.
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to see the weapon at all if I were firing from the hip. And the angle generally has the weapon pointing like 30 degrees off target so you can more easily see what you're holding. Sure it's a gaming abstraction but that doesn't make it not annoy me, what with how incredibly stupid it looks if you apply a minute amount of rational thought to it.

[editline]17th July 2011[/editline] After playing STALKER yesterday, I'm glad that someone finally realised that the first bullet from a rifle will always be the most accurate, to the point where it's almost completely on target. I saw that video where they went to the range and they found out about it - In STALKER, for some reason, the bullets always seem to fly everywhere, even if you're only firing one shot at a time.
Hah, found the password and account that belong to manderly and logged into his computer right infront of him This game is so silly :v: Also skul gun
I'm starting to worry if I can handle this on DX11. I don't trust any of those sites since they usually butcher the results. I'd hate to have to limit the game.

Speaking of GITS, one of the augmentation companies mentioned in The Icarus Effect is called "Kusanagi"

I didn't even use the ironsights in the leak, mainly because assigning the cover mechanic to any other button than mouse3 felt incredibly awkward and really wrong.
I didn't even use the ironsights in the leak, mainly because assigning the cover mechanic to any other button than mouse3 felt incredibly awkward and really wrong.
If you assigned the middle mouse button to ironsights, then that would free up the right mouse button surely? Also, there is an option to have the cover system activated by holding the button or tapping it to toggle.

Probably late, but the achievements are on the steam store.
Probably late, but the achievements are on the steam store.
Unlike the Xbox ones, these come in full-colour pictures. [editline]17th July 2011[/editline]
I cannot access it. [editline]17th July 2011[/editline] http://steamcommunity.com/stats/28050/achievements
Same here.
So close, I can taste it.
Is there a point to picking up and throwing objects, other than the few puzzles that use it? In the bit I played at the AMD event, The enemies didn't seem to be too affected by my box throwing skills. :v:

I seriously see no real reason to use any other weapon than 10mm Pistol, it's the best fucking weapon in the game once you install a Silencer, Laser Sight and AP Rounds on it and considering how much (or should I say, how little) ammo there's for other weapons there's no point in carrying them around except for occasional Stun Gun or Rocket Launcher.
every day deus ex gets closer, my dick gets bigger.
Post your specs.
I have a GTX460, Quad Core CPU, 8MB of RAM. Did I forget anything?
I hope the store I ordered this from doesn't screw up my order again. I had a gift card and bought the pc version and they're mailing it to me the day after it comes out but every other time I've bought from them they confuse pc with the ps3 version. [editline]July 17, 2011[/editline] If they do I'll call them up and say "I never asked for this."
I have a GTX460, Quad Core CPU, 8MB of RAM. Did I forget anything?
Exactly what CPU do you have? There are different quad-cores out there. I'm also assuming you mean 8GB? If your CPU isn't trash you should be able to run Deus Ex: HR fine. I have a GTX 460 and a i5 2500k and I ran the leak fantastically.
Will I be able to run this game on high settings?

If you were strong enough, you could lift massive objects and throw them as a weapon. There would also be situations where you needed to move an object in order to reach an alternate route. I think strength also made you hit harder in melee.
