I want to say COD modern warfare, but I feel that is too great an insult for players of that game.
There's not a single game I can envision him being able to play.
The FPS component of deus ex really isn't that difficult.

no hud, can't sprint permanently
there's no fucking tutorial on how to walk
i spent the first few years of my life trying to figure that one out!!
Confirmed Deus Ex to be The Sims 4? I like how the only person in this thread that's giving me alternates on playing the game is the American.
What's the best way to go through this game? I'm thinking stealth/guerilla warfare kind of approach. Stealth kill a lot without being found.
Or do you get a bonus for not killing or something?
You get bonuses for not alerting anyone or being seen yes, and you get more xp for leaving people unconscious than outright killing them, which kinda sucks.

i was aiming for pacifist but forgot about it for a while and threw [sp]chanoff the building[/sp]

My favorite style has been a mixture of everything. I'll hack computers and turrets when I find them useful or hide in a vent and just bust in guns blazing. Sometimes I'll go through a majority of the area with stealth kills and sneaks then blast a few chaps away if needed. However, I've heard the pacifist/stealth approach is very enjoyable and I believe that will be my next playthrough.
my copy still hasn't been dispatched even though I pre-ordered weeks in advance
so I've just decided "fuck it" and I'm installing a cracked copy

Kill yourself.
Hah, I love this game! I was infiltrating the [sp]FEMA Warehouse[/sp]. Ghosting so far, lined up a headshot on a guard, hit him and he staggered forward before collapsing in the middle of a corner. Whole base alerted, not quickloading because it was too damn fun.
looks like the quicksave is gone already. ah well
This is just a personal thing but, I rented this game from Red Box eagerly waiting to get home to play it after I read so many great reviews about the game. Put the game in, I notice pretty much everything is just gold, which isn't bad, I guess. Anyway, I begin the game on normal difficulty and play through the first "walkthrough cutscene" until I got to the gameplay, oh boy was I excited!...
....Then a very ugly, generic futurstic looking gun appeared before me, along with no HUD making the game look like it was still in an alpha stage. Graphics aren't up to par with 2011 and the voice acting is mediocre, especially that guy in the suit. I also like how sprint only activated for five seconds, but that's not my real complaint. My real complaint is the AI and the damage they do. I fight my first baddie with absoultely horrible controls and jerky aiming just to die in literally three bullets on NORMAL. I know what you're saying "ITZ REASLISTIC!1!"...it's also a video game, entertaining material to have fun.
Overall: 2/10
The story seemed interesting enough but since I only got five minutes of actual gameplay I wont be able to witness all it's glory. What a shame. And I'm probably going to get "WELL YOU FUCKING SUCK GOSH!", I was playing on the NORMAL difficulty which is probably what most gamers chose. I love FPS's so I know how to play one properly, so this has nothing to do with skill. And if I was doing something wrong, the game certainly didn't tell or instruct me on HOW to play the game. Just awful..
oh wait were you serious. lmao you died on the tutorial level
Lack of HUD is equated to Alpha? David Sarif had an awesome voice, fuck you buddy :colbert:
I wish TizzyYcho would have recorded his little playthrough. It's just really difficult for me to comprehend that someone could die on the tutorial.
I completed my first playthrough last night and enjoyed every minute of it. I also thought of some things that could be changed:
1. The Typhoon and Icarus Landing System use multiple energy cells and have upgrades that reduce the number of cells used. This gives a reason to actually upgrade the number of energy cells you have.
2. You can do double takedowns be default, but they require 2 energy cells until upgraded to only use 1.
3. More stages to the energy cell recharge rate upgrade. The first new stage would allow the second energy cell to automatically recharge like the first one, second stage for the third cell, and so forth.
4. As someone suggested earlier, takedowns shouldn't use a full energy cell.
5. The ability to turn off radios. I can turn off the TVs, so why not them? And the rants were interesting one time, I don't want to hear them again.
And for anyone having trouble with the bosses, try to keep 6 frag mines on you at all times. They're quite common and six seems to be more than enough to kill each one.

Jokes aside, I was sceptical of DEHR ("der" with an h?) as the prequel Invisible War was *beep* but now i'm enlightened, in a way. My major gripe with DEHR is the fact that it's yellow-centric, and if I hate anything, it's fucking yellow and cousins (i.e. orange, amber, etc.) I felt the same way towards Fallout New Vegas because you just ran around a fucking orange (or amber) as hell desert and you ran around with a orange fucking hud and orange houses and oranges and orange and fuck orange fuck shit orange fuck.
Hey TizzYcho, aren't you that guy who was shitting all over the Crysis 2 megathread a couple months ago? Saying it's complete shit, and everybody else is dumb for enjoying it? Ah yes, that is you. You just changed your avatar.
Everybody else, just report and move on. All he does is shit over game megathreads of games he doesn't like. He thinks it's his mission to change other peoples opinions because they really like a game he despises.
When I say "the game is too difficult for me" you guys translate "GAME IS FINE, YOU FUCKING SUCK"
I mean, really? There's something clearly wrong with the game when you die on the first enemy, I don't care who you are but if SOMEONE FUCKING DIES WITHIN THREE MINUTES ON DEFAULT DIFFICULTY SOMETHING IS WRONG. NO, I don't suck, the game is ridiculously hard, not the hard-hard, but the retard kind of hard where you question what killed you so fast (Call of Duty), that's honestly how I felt...I said "this must be Call of Duty", of course that's after I passed the horrific cutscene that resembles graphics of Assassin's Creed 2. The reason for all this is simple:
HOW THE FUCK DID THIS GET GOOD REVIEWS? If I didn't read any reviews for it prior then I wouldn't be sittin' here, discussin' with you, now would I? Look buddy, I'm a gamer, that means I play games, NOT RPGs, RTSs, anything like that but FPS so how in the hell could someone produce such a game where the player dies in the first minutes. The worst part about it, human beings made this, meaning mankind just brought stupidity to a new level. We're all fucking doomed.

Oh my god, thank you for this. This further continues my theory that current-gen games are ripping off CoD. Crysis of course did that, now look at Deus Ex.

So tell us how it went. Did you mistake the first enemy for a friendly NPC? The game sets it up perfectly for you to understand that the guy is an enemy and he doesn't even see you immediately. The only way I can imagine you dying on the first enemy is if you thought he was an NPC and tried talking to him. So if that's what happened you really do suck at the game and it's operator error not a game error.

This is all hilarious to me, troll or not. I can't believe someone is that bad.

RPGS AREN'T GAMES GUYS!
wait, what? also you do know Deus Ex isn't Duke Nukem right? It is more like of a stealth game, instead of "shoot everything in sight" game, you know that right?

If you're just going to shit up the thread to say the game is shit without any valid argument whatsoever other than "it's too hard and it sucks lol", then please, just go away.

nope
If I die from the very FIRST enemy in a game, I'm done with it. That's just unacceptable.
Really, the game's moderately difficult. Not too hard but not too easy. You should consider using logic and common sense and such. And always remember to NOT run straight into the enemies. Also when you're close to an enemy you can instakill him with a takedown. And you can sneak. And you can use cover. The really unacceptable thing is that you can't kill the first guy in the game, why? Because you didn't even fight back and just use it to bash the game, or you just stand in front of the guy letting yourself get shot in the face and THEN bash the game.
I think Christopher Walken said it best in "Ripper": "This guy in un-fuckin'-believable!"

Obviously its not hard else people would've complained about it en masse. Its got a very fair combat system in place with cover mechanics that work pretty damn well. The AI is decent but its still easy to fool. I honestly wanna see a vid of you playing this to see just what you're doing wrong.
