I holed up on the balcony and got grenaded the shit out of me. Then I saw the vent and snuck my way to freedom.

For that part I just hid under a desk and took pot shots at people. Then they started throwing gas grenades, but fortunately I had the re-breather augment thing.
I done the vent part, didn't use any grenades.
I camped in the vent and pistolled everyone.
Just started my second playthrough and found something cool. Early Game Spoilers: [sp]I was sneaking through Derelict row for the sidequest and thought I would try shutting off the Jammer before I was told to in the main quest. I got a call from Pritchard asking me what I just did and then he just dismissed it. Went to continue the main quest got bonus exp for taking care of it before I was supposed to and a call from Sarif thanking me for what I did earlier.[/sp]
THIS is Deus Ex.
The soundtrack for this game is so fitting. Micheal McCann is a genious.
This part was so easy :|
Please use spoiler tags for this kind of thing because some people like to discover this stuff on their own.
THIS is Deus Ex.
You can do something like that aswell in Carella's quest, by [sp]taking care of the 2 dealers in front of the Lv.5 storage unit before Tindall asks you to[/sp].
There was like, no stun gun ammo throughout most of the game, so usually I had none and was going into missions unarmed. This went through my head before each mission.
People really should look up about the game before making posts like this. Human Revolution is a prequel.
That doesn't mean you can understand it fully without playing the first one, it's a legit question
Seriously how do these mines work, I've tried slowly crouching passed them, slowly walking, walking with intervals, everything. They keep exploding in my face
You need to crouch AND walk to disarm them :v:
I made a thread in GD about augmentation and transhumanism, check it out and argue with people. <3 http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1120785
This part was so easy :| [sp]There's a vent on the far right which takes you straight out.[/sp]
How can you complain about that being easy? That's entirely your fault for taking the vent. I found the vent, but then decided to kill them all in a firefight.
Is it just me, or do you want to do takedowns just to see the ass-kicking?
Well, I was going through the Police HQ all stealth like, but then I ran into a guy who wouldn't stop looking at a vent and ruined EVERYTHING. [editline]28th August 2011[/editline]
Is it just me, or do you want to do takedowns just to see the ass-kicking?
I tried to throw a girl off a ledge with the noisy takedown, but he automatically positioned himself further away from the rail and wouldnt let me do it..
Following on from what someone else was saying about the music, the score in this game seems to be much more ambient and atmospheric as opposed to the melodic score of the original game. What this results in is "less memorable" but much more suitable music, wouldn't you agree? Here is an example: On top of that, the music is much more dynamic in Human Revolution, with different types of music based on the different alert states hostiles can have.
(After 4 attempts of typing this message, fuck you shift+backspace, fuck you) I just beat the game yesterday, and I think the ending could have been handled better (Get there and you will see what I mean), but thankfully didn't fall into the logic of "Herp most people won't see this part derp (I'm looking at you Black Ops)". Also I have ONE comment about the last level... DEUS EX IS NOT A [sp]CHEESY SURVIVAL HORROR[/sp] GAME (And yes, the tag is necessary this time). And I wish there were melee weapons in this game, because the takedown cooldown fucks you in the ass against your melee capable enemies up close.

What I also noticed and feel that is important, is that you think of music in the first game as a different aspect while for Human Revolution, the music, the level flow into one single experience. However, when you listen the track from the first game, you immediately remember the level while I can't say the same if I will listen to a track of any HR level without knowing its name. [editline]28th August 2011[/editline] 54 guests what the fuck.
Gah, so many crashes in the China districts. Is this just me? I've read that it appears to be DX11 being the culprit for some people.
So I'm in Lower Henshang, and I'm infiltrating this base, but there's an elevator shaft, and once I jump down it, there's no way out, and I can't go back up. Anyone else had this/know the way out?
Just beat the game on "give me a challenge" and doing another play on "give me deus ex" now. I did sort of a mix of killing, stealth, and nonlethal, depending on what I felt like doing on the first play. I'm doing a fully non lethal run this time (except bosses). [sp]In the police station I decided to sneak in through the roof, and get down to the morgue to get the chip without being spotted or knocking anyone out/any contact with the officers at all. Took me a couple saves but I found it to be a lot more fun and intense than just talking my way in or shooting the place up. I don't think I'm going to do a ghost run of the entire game just yet though. Just focusing it on being non-lethal right now and I already knocked out a handful of enemies. I think my next play will be guns blazing, "kill everyone" type play and eventually I'll do a full "ghost" run through the game without touching anyone. I also was able to ghost through the intro part before Jensen gets injured/augmented without being seen or knocking anyone out. I might even try a run where I do an entire area on just one save, with no quicksaves, to increase the tension. [/sp] Gonna say this is by far the best FPS I've played since HL2. I plan to beat this game multiple times in different playing styles as I did with Deus Ex 1. edit- I also agree that DX1's music may have been more "memorable" but they still did an amazing job with the sound in this game.
Where is the augmentation that allows me to consume my enemies for energy. Or, for the non-lethal approach, nibble off a few fingers.
Anyone else having issues with dual monitors? The cursor isn't being tethered to screen 1 properly, so whenever I go to fire or something if my cursor has gotten onto screen 2 the game minimizes (so the game's practically unplayable)

Some of the music was alright, but in places such as hong kong it was irritating.
You don't go to Japan, you go to Hong Kong. Also, the music in Deus Ex was far more...prominent. You could say; "I recognise this piece, this is the UNATCO theme tune". In Human Revolution the music is far more Ambient which I like, it eases you into the world and ensures I'm not running about Hong Kong going; "Dabdabadabadabab badab!"
i listen to the soundtrack for hr and distinctly remember the level so ur wrong i guess
Maybe it's because you listened to it a lot? I'm talking about choosing a completely random track without knowing it's name (aka "Sarif Industries", although I can remember that one). While playing, I even forget the music is there instead of hearing the combat track play and go "oh shit, I got caught".
I always wondered, is it possible to identify everyone who's speaking in the intro sequence?
