besides, wasn't he [sp]uncovered to be a part of that group[/sp]?
Did anybody else get the impression that both Sarif and Taggart are genuinely good people at the core, who just fight strongly for what the believe, instead of figureheads with ulterior motives?
except taggart is an insecure insulting psychoanalyzing megalomaniacal sociopathic asshole and sarif is fucking bro
Sarif is a fucking bro-boss [editline]28th August 2011[/editline] boss in the figurative sense as well as the literal
besides, wasn't he [sp]uncovered to be a part of that group[/sp]?
Yeah, Taggart [sp]exposes Sandoval/Sanders to be part of Purity First to save his own Purity First ass[/sp]
how many people think [sp]the Illuminati wasn't all that bad, considering their intent and execution[/sp]?
I don't feel like reading the whole thread, but I have to ask, how do Jensen's glasses work? When they retract, do they just, you know, slide into his skull? I don't see much room for them other than that...

holy fuck this shit is confusing [editline]28th August 2011[/editline]
I don't feel like reading the whole thread, but I have to ask, how do Jensen's glasses work? The game seems to have a weird time loading the levels. As I go to new locations I stutter and if I stand still, turn around 360 degrees the FPS goes back to 60 until more new locations. Is that common? I think I had this issue in the leak.
how many people think [sp]the Illuminati wasn't all that bad, considering their intent and execution[/sp]?
[sp]I choose Morgan Everett's ending in the original.[/sp]
I should play the original I need to know this stuff
extra energy cells should recharge, because as they are now theres no point even having more than one
Some double takedowns are hard to do without being cloaked.
Is it possible to kill [sp]Mr. Butthurt at the top of Panchea?[/sp] I didn't it would just feel wrong to kill a defenseless [sp]old man who was trying to destroy the Illuminati[/sp] On a note though, I'm going to say this. The Sarif ending is probably the best, as it is [sp]The most truthful, I mean, Mr. Butthurt basically WAS siding with Purity First to the point his attack could be classified as their actions[/sp] With Sarif's ending you are telling [sp]the world a convenient and truthful representation of what happened, even if it is biased, it is still the most accurate of the 2 other biased endings. Also you are properly paving the way for DX1, as chances are, if spun in Darrow or Taggart's favor would lead to the end of augmentation, and thus destroying DX1's canon. The Panchea destruction is going on the right course for DX1, but gets rid of characters that could be a major players in a sequel to Human Revolution.[/sp]
how many people think [sp]the Illuminati wasn't all that bad, considering their intent and execution[/sp]?
They don't try to take control of humanity, they only guide it They don't have evil intent really, but I still chose to blow shit up at the end
how many people think [sp]the Illuminati wasn't all that bad, considering their intent and execution[/sp]?
I think they're [sp] bad seeming they're essentially trying to control the world at their whim. Why do they have the right to decide what's best for humanity? Especially knowing what the illuminate become in the origional Deus Ex. I suppose there is some good behind order but I think the illuminate's idea of order is basically repression and bordering on mind control. [/sp]
how many people think [sp]the Illuminati wasn't all that bad, considering their intent and execution[/sp]?
I can't really get a consistent idea them looking at all of the games. Sometimes they seem a more sinister, sometimes less.
Sarif is a fucking bro-boss [editline]28th August 2011[/editline] boss in the figurative sense as well as the literal
I thought he was a dick hurr I keep information from you you don't need it
I thought he was a dick hurr I keep information from you you don't need it
My original point was that they both have their motives in the right place, they both genuinely believe they are serving humanity, not just promoting some selfish agenda. Whether you like them or not is an entirely different question.
I thought he was a dick hurr I keep information from you you don't need it
He was trying to [sp]protect you from the fact that you were lied to your whole life[/sp] so that you weren't emotionally crushed and fail to perform your job
I prefer the DX1 rendition of the Illuminati, but however I see something here on how MJ12 comes to be in DX1... WARNING THEORETICAL!!! [sp]The main leadership of the Illuminati tries to control the world by being subtle and peaceful, relying on influence over strong arm tactics, and after being turned down on many things by Everett, Page decides to break off and take the loose cannons of the Illuminati to betray Everett and start MJ12.[/sp] Anyone else agree? [editline]29th August 2011[/editline]
I thought he was a dick hurr I keep information from you you don't need it
Sarif had a good reason to try to keep certain info away from Jensen. In your position and seeing that fucked up info do you really think you would want to potentially put your only competent soldier into an emotional meltdown? Hell no, most people would try to bury that info as much as possible the second they see it. Not only would it be emotionally scarring it would be PR nightmare if it got out.
That's MJ12
Well MJ12 is formed by some people from it right? I can't remember.

Went to go to buy this at gamestop today. Closed because it had no electricity form the hurricane. "What a shame."
also improvements that could be made to this game: no bossfights, or perhaps more appropriate ones for a stealth player (think metal gear solid bosses, something other than "shoot this guy loads and loads") extra energy cells should recharge, because as they are now theres no point even having more than one be able to carry multiple of the same weapon instead of just getting ammo when picking up more perhaps an (optional) new game+ mode, would make things more fun imo and provide more incentive for multiple playthroughs, and it feels good to max out stats probably more stuff but i cant think of it all right now, plus i only just got to china in my game so i havent seen it all yet.
1. Am I the only one that really liked the bossfights? (Even on Deus Ex difficulty?) (And I know the answer is "Yes") 2. But then there'd hardly be a point to nutrients 3. But why? 4. Agreed. I also think that this game should have had some good ol' multiplayer like the original Deus Ex. No justification, no objective, just good ol' deathmatch with twelve Jensens running around.
For the people who think the Illuminati are violent in this game. Note how Page says in the intro "We control their purse strings, they'll do as we say", not "We have them at fucking gunpoint and will shoot them if they fail to comply". They peacefully influence their subordinates by basically simply financially screwing them over if they don't follow orders, not nuke them from orbit like MJ12 does. From the looks of it they only get violent when they are forced to (IE "Sarif is forcing our hand")
peekaboo
Get you cooties out of here. [sp]I have a crush on Malik, true story[/sp]
Get you cooties out of here. [sp]I have a crush on Malik, true story[/sp]
I think Malik is lesbian. She's still my favorite side-character in the game. [sp]I couldn't save her with my non-lethal weapons. R.I.P., Faridah Malik. I will never forget you.[/sp]
Oh my GOD THIS FUCKING SECOND BOSS [sp]What the fuck am I supposed to do? I'm happy to lethal her (not going for pacifist on this first playthrough) but everything I do ends up with a ream of bullets to my face. I'm running out of ammo, too. Best lethal thing I got is the revolver.[/sp]

I grabbed a heavy rifle and just shot her at point blank range untill she died.[/sp] There was no way I could have beaten that any other way.
