Deus Ex: Human Revolution V3 - I Never Asked For This
He can fuck right off about the NPC's - I noticed that people respond differently to what you do in the game - but they're not random. Each NPC has a personality, and while it may not be very deep, that's a pretty fucking astonishing level of detail to put into the game that very few other games have.
For example, after the first (or I guess it's the second) mission, there are a whole bunch of cops outside. One of them will be looking out for the interest of the hostages, one will want all the purists dead, and one will think that killing them is murder. Depending on what approach you take, they will always have the same personality, but what they say differs based on what you did.
If I kill all the Purity First people, that one cop will call me a murderer. The other will say they deserved to be put down, the other will thank me for saving the hostages. No matter what you do, you will NEVER please everybody. If you do any of those things differently they will respond accordingly. I think that's an awesome amount of NPC depth that most games don't have.
You know you can go back to the cops at the beginning of that level, and they will have unique dialogue if you speak to them?
The regenerating health in Deus Ex wasn't bad. The bad thing with regenerating health is that it creates boring, call-of-duty-esque gameplay:
1. Get to cover
2. Pop up, shoot 2 guys
3. Hide again because you've got jam on your monitor, and you can't wipe it off.
4. Repeat.
5. Repeat more.
This never happened to me in Deus Ex.
The regenrating health aug in Deus Ex was a stupid idea. Finish long fight where you nearly died? Spend the next 20 seconds standing still, regening health.
I mean, if you didn't have health packs or the regen health aug in Deus Ex you had to wait to go back to Unatco or find a med bot. I remember having to crawl up to the roof of the NSF power generator because I had my legs blown off and I didn't have health packs.
See how that system can be a bit bull shit and boring trying to find med packs?
Deus Ex can be more like:
1. Get to cover
2. Pop up to shoot, and get shot losing most of your health
3. Hide the rest of the time they're "Hostile" for.
You have a point, but I saw that as a punishment for being stupid enough to get noticed.
Depends on how you decide to play the game, I suppose.

I'd say it's almost the same system as it was in deus ex, you can still pop up and shoot in the first one as much as the second one but in the first one at least you could just lean across a wall for cover instead and as soon as you have regen aug it's made even easier.

I was talking about Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I know but I'd much rather have the regen health from HR than the health system from DX.
So what's coming out tonight at 2200 GMT?
Just looking at the ticker at the bottom of the main menu...

Nobody?
I don't know how many times the health regen-aug saved me in Deus Ex. The melee system in the first one was really bad(aka you had to hit exactly on the crosshair, even if you swung your sword all over the screen) and those exploding black-suit bastards made me use the regen-aug more than one time.

It is useful, not going to lie, but it really made battles anti-climatic (probably should use a different word for that but what ever) to stand around for 20 seconds with your thumb up your ass while you are growing your legs back.
I love the this game actually makes me feel like I'm in a CITY. The citizens don't just stand around like slack-jawed cardboard, they actually do things, and it makes it seem more alive.

Probably an update or free/paid DLC, at least that's my guess.
i hope its free dlc, after beating the game i've been craving some more story
but even if it's paid i'll probably pay for it
you win this time, you mother fuckers
Anybody know why I have intense lag in this?
No matter what settings, I have lag. Any movement (even the main menu) ANYWHERE lags me the fuck out. When nothing is moving I get the same shit, just not as bad.
Had no offensive or defensive augs.
Play it again as a primarily offensive class. You won't regret it.
I mainly invested in stealth and hacking for the first quarter of the game. I found the game soooooo much more satisfying when I started investing in offensive augs, though.
I want to learn more about Jensen's past so I hope you go to [sp] white helix [/sp] or something in a DLC.

I usually sort my inventory or use some biocells during those waits, but when it's at max level, it doesn't take long before you're up to full health.
I feel like there were a LOT of questions that weren't entirely answered in Human Revolution and it kind of bugged me. They went on about Adam being special but didn't entirely explain why (I mean if you did the side quests in your second visit to Detroit you learn most of the story about why Adam's special, but not the specifics exactly. A lot of questions still remain, and I still want to know why Sarif got 'spooked'). They brought up a lot of leads that seemed to disappear later on in the story and I really wish they'd have been of more consequence.
[sp]Also, what happens to Megan and the other scientists if Malik dies at the crash site in Hengsha?[/sp]

[sp]There is a helicopter already there, that they commandeer and fly out[/sp]
The ending is good but weak compared what you have gone through with the game

[sp]I thought they spelled it out for you, especially if you went to talk with Sarif before fighting TYM's CEO[/sp]
[sp]There is a helicopter already there, that they commandeer and fly out[/sp]
Weak.
I kinda wish there were bigger consequences. Like... oh, I dunno... they all die.
[sp]I thought they spelled it out for you, especially if you went to talk with Sarif before fighting TYM's CEO[/sp]
[sp]You learn a lot throughout the game about Adam's past (especially if you read emails and shit), but they still never explain exactly why Adam was being 'watched' or whom it was exactly that 'spooked' David (I'd assume it was the Illuminati, but I don't think it was explicitly stated as such). I mean... why were they watching Adam anyway? They must have had a hand in events if they decided to watch him and spook David over it.[/sp]
Wait what there's a way[sp] to stop malik from dieing?[/sp]
Did anyone notice that during the final boss battle the shape of the 'boss' and the machinery that they were hooked up to seemed to create a kind of 'Icarus' like shape? With the machinery being the wings, and the person being... well, Icarus himself.
And [sp]the boss overloads and burns out when you beat her.[/sp]
The thing that annoyed me in the original Deus Ex was how unless you put a whole bunch of points into your weapon skills, you had to point your gun at a enemy for ages if you wanted to hit them from further than point blank.

[sp]Yeah, the burning up seemed really fitting given that particular visual homage[/sp]
I finished it today, what a great game. There are of course a few things that where less then great but I still enjoyed the game just a little less then I did the first.
The things that bothered me when I played where things like, the regenerating health and the boss fights on the "Give me Deus Ex" difficulty.
Normally regenerating health wouldn't bother me at all, but after playing the first one and naming the hardest difficulty "give me Deus Ex" I don't know. I expect it not to be there.
Like I said, a great game. I'm gonna play it again on a lower difficulty for my pacifism run just because of the boss fights.

Yeah. You just kill everyone. I did it in like... 40 seconds. Maybe less. Snapped a few necks, impaled a few femoral arteries, blew a few people away point blank with buckshot. That kind of thing.
It wasn't really too hard. Don't see why so many people found it difficult.
