Well that's because Borderlands sucked so yeah, I can understand that. Walking is more like jogging, just stay crouched.
I liked Borderlands. :c Also, playing tons of stealth games over the years have made it instinct for me to be crouching pretty much 24/7.
I'm confused on why Zeke Sanders [sp]appeared again protecting Sandoval[/sp] I didn't know what to do so I spared him and punched his face :v: Speaking of Sandoval, [sp]if you fail to prevent him from killing himself, how does it affect the storyline?[/sp]

Given that, you know, he doesn't turn up in any regard at all later in the game. He's not even MENTIONED[/sp]

Kind of Sarif spoilers [sp]Did anyone else expect him to betray you? Entire game I sat there waiting for it, thinking here it comes here it comes, but in the end he turned out to be a pretty swell guy. Bit childish but still a nice dude for the most part. I admit it didn't help that I never played Deus Ex and one of my friends was like "Yeah he's the big bad in the other games and totally evil don't trust him."[/sp] Overall after playing through twice and somewhat abandoning my hard mode run through (may try again later) I have to say the choices seemed really... unimportant and made me feel really let down, that's the games biggest flaw to me. On my first run through everything felt like I was controlling it with my choices, that I was having a effect on the plot, but when I went through it a second time being a jerkass, killing everyone, etc and nothing really changed other then small things like [sp]suddenly your girlfriend can fly a helicopter[/sp] it just felt really bad. Add this in with the cop-out non endings and it's just lame, I can't stress it enough that how the endings were handled was bad, if you don't agree with me that's cool but I'd like to see my choices effect something instead of [sp]walking into a room and being told to pick one then seeing a slide show with Jensen suddenly breaking character and preaching.[/sp] the fact it doesn't say what happens to the characters, show anything important or anything like that is just really lame, I really felt like it was rushed in that regard. Other then that though the games amazing and a easy contender for GOTY from me.
It surprises me that on the global achievements for Deus Ex on Steam, only 88.3% got the First Take down achievement. Nearly 12% of people who bought this game haven't even started it? What gives?
obviously bought it for the tf2 items!

I had to knock him out.[/sp] [editline]29th August 2011[/editline]
obviously bought it for the tf2 items!
The sad part is that this isn't A joke.

Then I got him to tell me and I wanted to Bro-five the man. And even then, everyone kept saying; "Ask your Boss" and "Sarif knows" and I was dreading having to fight him. But I didn't.[[/sp] :buddy:
I killed him anyway. Because I could.

I want to see a huge picture of Deus Ex 1 & HR characters in a bar with Jensen going "I never asked for this drink", JC standing in the ladies' restroom, Pritchard and Sarif being bros, Letitia asking for Hot Devil (can you even get that drink in the game?) and all sorts of cool stuff. [editline]29th August 2011[/editline] Also, about that biochip, did anyone else think [sp]that there is a time limit on finding Megan because Adam always goes NO TIME TO WASTE, MEGAN MIGHT BE STILL ALIVE? Because I didn't go to the LIMB clinic because I thought she would be dead by the time I got there.[/sp]

[editline]29th August 2011[/editline]
I don't think your friend played the first game either, Sarif doesn't show up in any other game.
I think he meant "your boss is the big bad in deus ex one." Which isn't far from the truth.
Does anybody else have this pretty annoying
So was I, and I was more so confused because I managed to [sp]get him arrested in the first mission.[/sp]
[sp]Did you talk to him in the prison? He mentions how people could get him out.[/sp]

Other then that though the games amazing and a easy contender for GOTY from me.
[sp]When you first fly back to Detroit after being in Hengsha everyone starts referring to you as 'Mr Jensen' instead of 'Boss'. This TINY difference got me REALLY FUCKING PARANOID and I ended up taking a fire extinguisher to my room in case Sarif ended up betraying me (so I could hurl it in his face and create a temporary diversion). Thankfully he didn't and ended up being a pretty good bro, but in the end I still picked Darrow's ending regardless.[/sp] Decisions were one of the main let downs of Deus Ex for me, too. I was discussing this in the Mass Effect thread earlier. For the most part the decissions in Deus Ex left me feeling relatively unfulfilled whereas the decisions in Mass Effect, for some reason that I can't really explain, leave me feeling quite content. I feel like I've legitimately achieved something on my own in Mass Effect when I make a decision. In Human Revolution I felt too much like I was being forced down a pre-set path. Probably because in Mass Effect we've been promised a finale that branches a lot where decisions will actually legitimately matter. Hopefully they remain true to this promise. That said, Deus Ex was still fucking amazing, and I applaud it's conversation system. I still don't understand why Mass Effect didn't have a conversation like Human Revolution's since ME1. Y'know, different people responding to different methods of persuasion.
Just wondering, no spoilers please, but are there any choices in the game that are like those in Deus Ex? Like saving Paul etc?
Q I'm curious, [sp]how did Zhao react if you didn't get your chip replaced?[/sp]
She's basically just like, "... oh shit." She doesn't say that, but her facial expression says it all.
Just wondering, no spoilers please, but are there any choices in the game that are like those in Deus Ex? Like saving Paul etc?
[sp]yes[/sp] How can you expect us to answer that without giving a spoiler? :v:
Just wondering, no spoilers please, but are there any choices in the game that are like those in Deus Ex? Like saving Paul etc?
Sanders is the least spoiler-y one I can think of.
Does anybody else have this pretty annoying
Usually happens to me when I turn really fast. Then again I play with vsync on and hardly get above 40-50 FPS.
Does anybody else have this pretty annoying
I get it sometimes when I first load the game and turn around. I think its the map loading. Though after I turn around once it goes away. Try lowering AA. [editline]29th August 2011[/editline]
[sp]Did you talk to him in the prison?
I'm confused on why Zeke Sanders [sp]appeared again protecting Sandoval[/sp] I didn't know what to do so I spared him and punched his face :v:
I chalked it up to mob mentality. [sp]There was a riot, shits confusing, he gets out if he was locked up or decides to join the party again.[/sp] Iunno, he just found a reason to wave a gun again.
Most anticlimactic boss battle EVER with the bald guy I had [sp]went to the LIMB Clinic[/sp] and finally got an indication of why that [sp]was bad[/sp] and looked up online and it says I'll have a "much harder boss fight" (I had enough trouble with [sp]the other two[/sp] so I get out of the elevator, complete the cutscene, shoot four grenades at him nonchalantly with the GL... and he dies. what the fuck grenade launcher why weren't you there the first two boss fights
I just read a few posts back and I didn't knew Malik [sp]could've been saved :saddowns: , I thought she was scripted to die[/sp]
How did most people NOT seem to make the the [sp]'new chip = bad'[/sp] connection? It's so bloody obvious.
Any way to reacquire the pre-order weapons? I dropped my sniper rifle in the first mission without thinking I wouldn't be able to get it back.
