Can someone explain to me the Alpha Beta Omega stuff? I don't get that part of the social Aug

(most of the time its people you need to get something from them) Then, when you need to response to them, if you hover your mouse over the answer it will tell you for what wave this answer is good for. (If i remember correctly left is Alpha, middle is Beta and right is Omega.) Note that sometimes people have two kinds of waves and there are answers which will be good for an Omega type of person but if he's Alpha waves are stronger it will fail.

The idea is that an alpha male (although you can apply it to females too, obviously) is the leader of the pack, basically. The person who everyone turns to for leadership. Generally the kind of person who is funny and charming and a natural leader, people will flock to them when shit goes tits up. Betas are one peg below that and generally want to be in the alpha position, but they aren't. They're the alphas second in command usually. Loyal to them simply because it gets them in a good place, but envious of their position. Omegas are... well, probably your general facepuncher (no offence to anyone). Omegas are the vast majority of people everywhere, the 'drones', the 'worker bees', the people who aren't the 'popular kids' at school (that's not to say you can't be an alpha male if you're not a 'jock', you'll notice the second that school ends for example that all of those social groups just fall to pieces and the REAL 'alphas' are those who are actually competent and know what they're doing - if you own a company or are a CEO or something like that then chances are you have an alpha personality type, even if you were a nerdy 'loner' at school). You don't really need to even have the meter to determine who's who in Deus Ex (or even in real life). You just have to ask yourself, "what position of power is this person in?" If they're a boss, or the head of some group of people (like David Sarif for example): they're gonna be an alpha. I'd say Adam Jensen is an Alpha male too (even though he's not head of the company itself he's head of security, and he does display a lot of the personality traits). If they're quite high up, not the biggest player on the field but one of the 'second in commands', then they're probably a beta. And if they're your general cannon fodder mooks, the morons running around the battlefield with a gun that you never really converse with in the first place, then they're probably Omegas.

I remember when I was trying to hack a alarm panel, and suddenly I got this weird black glitch spazzing out at the bottom of the screen. I finish the hack, turn around, and I see it was a guard's gun. *dead*

Just because he's not entirely arrogant (although he can be) doesn't mean he's any less of an alpha male. He may be more 'kind' and have an open door policy and all of that stuff, but he's still a born leader and that's why he's in the position of power he's in. He can be aggressive with his tactics, he's intelligent, charismatic and innovative. Alpha male stuff right there.
