Just got this game and played it 6 hours straight, its a great game.
[sp]I didn't want aug development to stop, so Darrow was out of the question. I was tempted by Sarif but he was such an asshole about the whole thing so I couldn't choose his ending in good conscience. Taggart made a convincing argument but I didn't want aug technology to be severely restricted.[/sp] By the way I managed to win every argument in the game apart from "Yes Boss". Should have got that social enhancer earlier.
I won "Yes boss" without social enhancer but it was pain in the ass. Sarif is a huge pain in the ass.
god i'm fucked at the upper hengsha tai yong medical tower will the "alarmed" status ever wear off or do i just have to either avoid or kill all the guards there?
I actually don't understand that ending... [sp]What will the world accomplish from not knowing about what happened? (in one point of view or another). and killing everyone in the base/ship thingy... why the hell would Jensen do that?[/sp]
Yeah, I thought it was kind of dumb, considering [sp]a) it seems kind of dumb to take some "let humanity decide" high ground while you're killing thousands of people, and b) "letting humanity decide" is nonsensical platitude that doesn't actually mean anything, and the decisions of individuals change the course of people's lives every minute.[/sp]

So that's how augmented cocks look.
Everyone say which ending they chose! (On your first playthrough without knowing what the endings were) [sp]Suicide. I think they should decide for themselves[/sp]
[sp]Sarif's[/sp] [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] [sp]he is your boss after all[/sp]
[sp] Sarif, I'm a sucker for science and technolog, so you would know who I chose that.[/sp]
Originally I was avoiding using the "Pheromones" for socializing because it reminded me too much of evil manipulating robot but some discussions are too interesting to risk not hearing them.

I wish there was a 5th secret ending where instead of [sp]pressing the buttons[/sp] you just turn around and dance around in the Hyron room.
god i'm fucked at the upper hengsha tai yong medical tower will the "alarmed" status ever wear off or do i just have to either avoid or kill all the guards there?
You can find these keypad-like things on the wall, hack it, and you'll be able to reset the alarm.
Does anybody know yet how to run this in windowed mode?
That nails it quite down for me. Glad I've picked [sp]Taggart over Sarif. David clearly doesn't see why people would use augs for bad things, he is a true philanthropist in mind trying to enhancing humanity in the sense of a new human potential quote: it "exists within our own DNA" I would have gladly agreed with Megan or David to use my (in that case Adam's) DNA. The problem is he didn't ask for it (okay that line was unintended, the game brainwashed it already into me). The second problem for me is removing healthy limbs from Adam as well. From the standpoint of being head of security it's a good idea to be a tough nut, but you cannot just go amputate healthy limbs of your employees, David's second mistake at being a good boss. If you talk Taggart down you will see he's a good guy and lost someone as well. Neither does he want to ban augs or demonize them, so I'm preferably on his side. The world isn't ready for someone like Sarif, not with the Illuminati at power, not with people like Bob Page being alive.[/sp]
I'm pretty sure Adams limb's weren't the healthiest when Namir fucked him up in the lab.
Well after 45 hours I finally finished the game. Amazing. Finished it with only 10 praxis points missing so I nearly actually had everything. Chose the [sp]Sarif[/sp] ending. Only faults that I had with the game is that I wish [sp]You found out what happened to everyone, Mailk, Prichard etc[/sp] and that I wish there was a bit more randomness to the game, like in Detroit when you found a random dead hobo, would of been cool if a few apartments had stuff like that or people in them, more people you could have conversations with. Other than that, it was brilliant.
You can find these keypad-like things on the wall, hack it, and you'll be able to reset the alarm.
Neat, thanks. But even if I disable the alarm, will the guards still slaughter my ass on sight or can I just walk past them like nothing was ever wrong?
Everyone say which ending they chose! (On your first playthrough without knowing what the endings were) [sp]Suicide. I think they should decide for themselves[/sp]
[sp] Taggart. I just thought his was the most sensible, since he wasn't out to completely ban augmentation or keep it un-regulated, and was more of a middle-ground. Plus mentioning something like the Illuminati to the people would just be looked at as bullshit anyhow, so Darrow's ending would have just looked like the ramblings of a madman who just committed partial genocide to prove his twisted point to the general public. Then with Sarif's, it would just mean more unregulated augmentations, and people would probably be hesitant to waste their time with augs, seeing what happened last time.[/sp]
Does anybody know yet how to run this in windowed mode?
You can't.
I'm pretty sure Adams limb's weren't the healthiest when Namir fucked him up in the lab.
Exactly. I think i recall him having a few lacerations on his limbs, including some glass shards which stabbed his arm. I didn't even know they amputated his limbs, i thought he'd just lost them after what Namir did to him.
Does anybody know yet how to run this in windowed mode?
Frame the monitor in a window. Run if you want too, but I wouldn't advise that.
Just finished, if this isn't still one of my favourite games of the decade by 2020 I will be extremely surprised. Really really insanely good; bar the boss fights I enjoyed every moment, the subtle hints to the original Deus Ex (and none to IW which doesn't exist), the detail in the hubs and the look of the hubs themselves, my god they were beautiful, everything. Endings wise I made a save and had a look at all of them [sp]except the Taggart one because I couldn't find my way to him when all the augs went crazy, and I'm leaning towards either Sarifs or the self destruct one as what I think is right. I presume Taggarts is the other end of the spectrum from Sarifs and talks about ending augmentation? I'dve probably gone with that if I found him.[/sp] As for the [sp]secret credits doodly[/sp], I had the biggest grin on my face when that song started playing, brilliant end to the game IMO. In fact I may go and reinstall the original now.
[sp]I don't see how Taggart can be a nice, reasonable guy, he wants to install a kill-switch on every augmented person to keep them in line, that's just as awful as any other ending, just look how well it worked out.[/sp] [sp]So Sarif ending all the way, it's the least insane.[/sp]
I think Adam was paralyzed by the bullet to the head, which is why he needed new limbs. Happens to people with spinal injuries. He was also supposedly crushed under some equipment which was why he, or rather his body survived the fire, although I can imagine him taking at least some tissue damage from it. All in all, not in great shape.
I think the only things which survived from that was his face and the coat. Cause if you go to aug upgrade, you can upgrade practically everything. 777 Posts, oh god, it's beautiful!

Taggart thought the biochip would be used for crowd control and stop people going crazy. That's admittedly draconian but he wasn't a madman.[/sp] [editline]1st September 2011[/editline]
I think Adam was paralyzed by the bullet to the head, which is why he needed new limbs.
If you hack emails you see that Sarif actually ordered his healthy limbs to be lopped off - the only one that needed to be replaced was his left arm.
Why would Sarif do that? So he could use Adam like an augmented super soldier?

You either weren't listening or you're confusing him with a certain Mr. H. [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] I kinda felt sorry for [sp]Darrow[/sp]. His methods were absolutely wrong, borderline insanity, but he recognized that he'd created the whole problem and it probably tore him apart.
