That and the red fucking text in the way of your crosshair
I [sp]just got to China, beat all the side quests before in Detroit[/sp], how far into the game am I? I don't want the fun to stop.
You're about 90% of the way through
I'm fucking with you. Probably 20-25%.
I feel like I played Human Revolution with a traditional Deus Ex approach.
Saving after every miniscule event and reloading the game if something didn't go exactly how I wanted it to.
It was fun doing that, cause it stretched out the game another 10 hours for me probably.
how do i remove the intro video
i fucking when you can't skip the intro video
i mean coME ON it even pauses when i alt+tab

that looks painful
I wish there was a 5th secret ending where instead of [sp]pressing the buttons[/sp] you just turn around and dance around in the Hyron room.
you know what would be cool? If you left your character there waiting for 10 minutes, there is a cutscene where he decides he can't choose at all and he just leaves everything as is.
[editline]2nd September 2011[/editline]
has anybody actually tried that? if i was a developer i would so put that in

Needs SDK asap. People making missions and new augs in current hubs.
Oh, typhoon is great against bosses.
What the fuck you can bypass lasers with cloak?
Got dammit.
How was this not more obvious to more people? I mean... laser systems work by tripping whenever the beam gets broken and it doesn't hit the receiver. Invisibility means no break in the beam, means that the alarm won't go off.
I mean, irl the beam would be refracted slightly, but it's a game.

That was yesterday's episode on FOX8.

Holy shit, I didn't know this either. I know IRL it would make a difference, but then again, IRL you don't kill someone and everyone around 50m knows you killed someone and your location, so I just assumed game would trigger it anyway. Also you do see cloaked enemies anyway, so why wouldn't lasers?
Oh well, I feel it added challenge, so all is fine. :v:

Granted I was playing on a relatively small CRT (22-24 inches maybe) at standard definition, but the cloaking, at least to me, looked pretty decent. Assuming the laser receiver was a fair bit wider than the laser itself it's possible that the 'ripple' from the cloak may not have been enough to completely throw the laser off target (even if it did slightly).
Plus, you could explain the fact that the cloaks are a bit visible as simply being for gameplay. Imagine how damn impossible it would have been to play if cloaking made enemies ENTIRELY invisible (no ripple effect at all).
Looking back on the boss fights, while I did get frustrated at the time, they were really awesome and intense once you got the hang of them. Apart from barrett. Hate that bastard. Zamir's was the best, because the whole thing was just so confusing and disorientating with all the mannequins and interface screw. Really intense.
People still own CRTs?
the tip screens tells you that the cloaking device bends light
also it's a shame that setting robots to enemies will turn them in a hostile state, i love sneaking and my playthrough so far has been to not even put enemies in an alarmed state (wherever applicable), while still knocking everyone out. i read that you still get ghost xp even if the enemies were in an alarmed state, but it's so much more fun being extra stealthy. i even stopped using the stun gun because it would very often put the one stunned into an alarmed state for a brief moment
Okay so I'm a lot better at stealth in this than I was in the first deus ex, but sometimes it's just so tempting to go all loose-cannon :v:

Yes. Hopefully I should be getting an LCD in the coming months, though (I'll still only be able to play on component at most, though, because my xbox is one of the older ones and lacks a HDMI port; it only has AV and component).
Although, that said, I've compared HDMI (friends xbox) to component (mine), at a third friends house, and unless the TV is sufficiently large there really isn't that much of a discernible difference in quality.

You notice it after a few hours, but it's not a house issue.
After replaying the game, I must say Pritchard is the weirdest character in a long time. He looks like motorbike count Dracula and his voice sounds strange. I admit he is unique but I can't take him as a tech expert seriously.
Hey, is the tranq rifle supposed to kill on a headshot? I loaded up a game today and went over a body that I stunned using a tranq dart, but it shows the skull icon... The dart is still stuck in his head too.
I'm trying to go for pacifist run. Sucks that I may of already ruined it...

Taggart's motives are good.I would gladly join his campaign since [sp]all he wants is to limit what normal people can do with augmentations.[/sp]

I had that happen once when I reloaded a save after tranq'ing a few guards. All the ones that I had tranq'd before saving were dead.
Apparently it kills people if you shoot them while they're sat down.
I gave up on finding that Warrior Priest quest, currently in the shipyard. I'll get it on my 3rd runthrough.
Also, I love how many hidden achievements this game has. Just little things, I figured I'd get the Social Aug and I got an achievement for using it and learning an insignificant amount of knowledge about the [sp]Hyron Project[/sp]
Tranq kills people if shot to the head.
Tranq kills people if shot to the head.
Pfft. I've got PLENTY of head shot tranqs that resulted in an unconscious body instead of a dead one.
I think tranqs only kill if you shoot someone with TOO MANY of them (which actually makes sense when you think about it).
what was the [sp]hangar 18[/sp] achievement about
Tranq kills people if shot to the head.
insta unconciousness for me
