I've received my swedish PC gamer today, with the review and all, I could try and translate the six page long (three pages long, the other three are pictures).
[editline]29th July 2011[/editline]
but I'm pretty lazy, the review is long, and translating takes a long time
[editline]29th July 2011[/editline]
And there's no reason to translate it, neither.
Comparing Deus Ex to WHAT?! Fucking console gamers.
To be fair, I think he was talking about the graphics only in that instance
However, the "sci-fi COD" remark is completely inexcusable

This track is so ridiculously good

I absolutely love the little section starting at 0:26
I can't stand it when game magazines compare every action'esque sandox game to GTA, every shooter to COD and every MMO to World of Warcraft. It's as if there were only these 3 games and they have to dumb it down for the readers this way.
Just like the trolls rolled in past: "Fallout 3 is Oblivion with guns."
Bland combat, gamebryo bugs, difficulty scaling just "stuff has more health", occasional memorable characters in seas of potato people (they don't look so much like potatos in F3 as Oblivion), largely boring to explore world with nice locations scattered around
p sure fallout 3 is oblivion with guns
As for "not sci-fi cod" comment, I can see exactly what he said. No need to go off your fucking rockers at the mere mention of it. What he said is it's not a totally linear shooter like CoD is, and it's not an open world exploration game like Fallout. It's the middleground, with a lot of different choices to make but with essentially linear closed-in missions.
CoD: The game gives you a target, you achieve it one way
DX:HR: The game gives you a target, you achieve it one of many ways
FO3: The game gives you lots of targets, you achieve any one of them one of a few ways
Umm, would someone like to explain Deus Ex Revolution to me? I'm youtubing videos.... and every one seems to be about a Cyborg Bitchslapping prostitutes.
Because now I want this game SO FUCKING HARD

That's pretty much it.
Then I think I am purchasing a game where I control a bitchslapping cyborg.

That's a good decision, go ahead.
You guys should ignore the OPM review.
Remember, the official magazines ran by each console holder are known for being bias infested. 1st party games get great 9.5+/10 reviews, 3rd party games that sell most on there get somewhere around that area (See, Metal Gear (Bulk of the series' sales on Playstation 3), or Caww o' Doody (On Xbox), and obscure series tend to get horribly skewed reviews.
PCG's review is the only unbiased one. Look to that for the truth.
Actually, don't look at reviews, pretty much every reviewer has a shitload of bias or is getting payed lots of money to give a good review (See Caww o' Doody), or tend to give bad reviews to developers who don't give them a shitload of cash (See: Blacklight: Tango Down, which was much better than COckD but got horrible reviews, because Zombie didn't have the resources to be giving every reviewer millions for a good review.) and if you look for a DXHR review, please for god's sake please don't look at IGN/Fox News Gaming's review of it. They are guaranteed to give it a bad review just because the story most likely involves crushing [del]Rupert Murdoch's[/del] The Illuminati's agenda.
I fully expect this game to surpass DX1's legacy no matter how much IGN and other reviews try to bash it (Because they didn't get their $20,000,000)
I'd laugh if IGN bashes it.
I'd laugh if IGN bashes it.
Knowing them, they will.
I wish they put some more ammo around or at least quadrupled the amount of ammo you can buy in stores. Scarce ammo does not make Deus Ex more challenging, it just makes me ignore every other weapon except for 10mm Pistol and just pump all upgrades into it. (Laser Sight + Silencer + AP Ammo + several DMG and Capacity mods = sweeeeeeeeeet)
Another thing i don't particularly like is how slow takedown animations are, I have nothing against animation themselves, they're pretty neat but they could be twice as fast really, to stop them from breaking the flow so much.

Somewhere there's a relevant Penny-Arcade comic...

What makes us mad is that people compare everything to CoD nowadays.
Next up, FIFA12 sucks because its nothing like CoD. The ball has no rails, wtf?!
...
Hi guys! I'm back :buddy:
And I'm almost certainly not going to be able to play HR until the tuesday after it comes out, but I ordered the collector's edition so it will be so worth it
When does it come out again?
26th August.
26th August.
Just found out it's the 23rd for NA.

Damnit, I bought the august edition of PCG last week and now I have to buy this month's version too.
When is it in shops?

You can tell it's JJB because of his uuh uh uh uh
[editline]29th July 2011[/editline]
His "uh" is augmented.

As my first post on Facepunch, I hereby decree that the 23rd of August is a fucking awesome release date.
I know what I'm buying myself for my birthday.

He looks like a black person in that still :v:
JJB is like "Maan, fuck this shit, I'm on vacation after fucking four years of black and gold...but sure ask away. +10 for being wasted."
Is that guy drunk or something?
You wanna know something cool? I hadn't had any interest in this game until I saw this video.

At which point I went "Hot Shit, I want that game. Let's look up more videos."
After a good hour or so I think it's a day one purchase.
God bless bitchslapping hookers.

I love the double bitchslap
Is there a point to the bitchslapping other than for pure catharsis?
