But, he was Tracer himself, right? The same person that appears in all the other Deus Ex games too?
[sp]Tracer Tong is the son of Tong Si Hung, so yes. Tong is Si Hungs last name, too.[/sp]
Alright guys, I keep hearing that Barrett is one of the easiest bosses, so how the fuck do I beat him? I've tried this shit like a thousand times on the easiest difficulty, I can't get to the motherfucking grenades before I get turned into jello by the hailstorm of bullets that doesn't ever ever stop.
I miss the sneaking. That was fun.

Throw every barrel at him and he'll die (on easy mode)
He'll kill himself with his own nades if you hide from him.

Is there a specific tactic to throwing it without having it blow up in your face the minute you're exposed?

I played on Deus Ex, and beat the shit out of him.
Toss grenades his way. Jump behind cover. Throw gaseous canisters at him. Unload pistol in to head.
I guess I'll give that barrel thing another try then. Grenades are out of the question since I have none at all and the pickups always result in me getting cornered.
I met someone named Malik today. I didn't realize that was a real name.
I know a kid named Malik, but its pronounced Mahleek and not Malick

There's a small corner loaded with usefull murder weapons.
Also, if you've got balls of steel, whip out the Stun Gun on Barret. Believe it or not, it works well.
I wish electrified floors worked the same way they did in DX1
Remember when an enemy would go in a harmful area, go into a reference pose, have a few seizures, and then explode?
i say duce ex not 'deus' ex is that bad
i say duce ex not 'deus' ex is that bad
Ur a faget.
Even dumber is that the devs pronounce it Douche Ecksh
Its pronounced DAY US X

I wish I had a stun gun, I took the tranquilizer gun. :frown:

yes
When I was asking for it at Gamestop I asked for "Day-US EX" and the cashier quickly responded "You mean Doos Ex, right?

It's in the room with him.
What have you got on you right now? Do you have the tyhpoon? It'll help immensely.
Nope, no typhoon.
I got the pistol, the revolver, and the shotgun.
I kinda assumed that since I chose to develop my style around sneaking, and the game is, like, about sneaking, well, maybe that would work a little.
Against Barrett all kinds of grenades (especially non-lethal ones) work wonders, and I think the same goes for the PEPS. I doubt you picked up one of the two rocket launchers along the way, so I guess for damage you'll have to rely on the barrels mostly.
Hiding and recovering from him is made really easy by the Cloak aug. Look around the area, there should be a lot of hardware just lying around.
I picked the Tranq Gun on my first run (sneaky, hard mode) and didn't regret the choice. In the old DX I'd always make sure to have at least one bigass gun in my inventory in case worst came to worst. You don't need all that much ammo and guns if you play stealthy as you can bypass most enemy contact without any tools at all (Cloak/Battery/Hacking augs are quite useful tho).

You'll be fine.
Grab some of the gas canisters, and stay out of his line of sight. Hurl them at his head, watch them explode. While he's coughing, unload your weapon of choice into his head. The gas will knock him down faster than you can say "Augmented".
So you CAN sneak around him somehow. I didn't get the cloak augment though. Can I escape his sight another way?
Any time I talk to my relatives about this game and I call it "day-us ex" they think I'm saying "day of sex" and give me weird looks.
I keep calling it Deeus Ex, I'm not sure why.
The Typhoon makes the bosses ridiculously easy
I'm glad the mechaugs in HR are not ugly as shit, but how come the mechaugs in DX1 look like they are made of scrapyard parts and then painted blue?
I prefer to pronounce it "döös äx"

You'll have to distract/stun him with grenades or explosives somehow I think (or you need to be good at running from one pillar row to the opposite). I think there are some grenades just to the left of the door through which you enter the room.

Because the game is 10 years old.

Jump across the pillars.

Deus Ex 1 takes place 25 years after HR, and since then the world has experienced a serious economic shitstorm, and all of Deus Ex1 takes place in poor parts of the world, hence shitty tech.
I keep crashing after the second boss battle.
