Yet Halo's getting a remake. Why can we not have an HD Deus Ex remake? It's a crime. It's a game so good, and it's not known well enough. I hope HR does well enough to warrant a possible remake.
DXHR basically IS a remake. It just weeded out all the bad parts of the original game and added a few things that made the gameplay a lot more enjoyable and less punishing. Even the way the game progresses in both DXHR and the original game is almost identical.
I literally can't play the original Deus Ex. It's just too dated. I'm sorry. It plays like a shitty FPS RPG, compared to new games with much smoother controls and UIs. Human Revolution engine remake would own.
It's not too dated to play, I was way more entertained playing Deus Ex 1 ( I played it for the first time over the summer ) than I ever was with... lets say... Fallout 3.
I think a game should be made to cover the Northwest Secessionist Forces. (Or a large DLC where Adam becomes a mercenary for them?)
I wanna play as Paul Denton in Hong Kong in some kind of Human Revolution DLC (yeah, it'd be a completely different setting, but hey) I know his character is basically good, maybe taking away some of the Deus Ex standard choice, but he's only a pacifist [sp]when it comes to killing the NSF. When the MiB and troopers raid his apartment, he has no qualms about letting loose with the assault rifle[/sp] edit : I mean UNATCO is constantly saying how he's one of their best agents, so he must have gotten up to some pretty cool shit
I really meant a straight up HD remake. No gameplay additions. The new halo doesn't have gameplay changes.
Halo sells well because Halo defines a lot of the Modern FPS mechanics that make games sell well. Deus Ex in itself is for a different group of people and sadly that group of people doesn't have a combined cashbag as big as Halo's. That's why remaking Halo as-is is a better doshmaker than remaking Deus Ex. I think there are fan-made texture updates for Deus Ex available, right? That's a start.
Why are people clamouring for a remake of Deus Ex 1? Why ruin the fond memories of so many people by possibly injecting modern gameplay elements and "innovations" into an old PC game? Why tell the exact same story with the exact same characters when you could introduce new story arcs and characters with new games and episodes?
Deus Ex remade into Cryengine 3 would be fucking great. And I'm not just talking about a 1:1 remake with updated textures. You could really expand the levels, make them seamless with extra areas. UNATCO base in particular needs to feel like a proper military base, with hangars and barracks, not just a bunker with a carpet.
Eh, I've stopped playing until they fix the stuttering, it's tolerable up to a point, but now that I've put a few hours in, it's just annoying. Hopefully the patch will come out soon.
I just returned to [sp]Hengsha for the second time, after the helicopter part[/sp]. Walked through the streets for about a minute, and suddenly got a BSOD. Restarted my computer, fired up DX:HR - what do I see? All of my saves, gone. Since it's probably unfixable, does someone have a save at that part I can use, please? I don't care about achievements, but I'd prefer stealth weapons - you know, maxed out 10mm pistol and stun gun. Choices don't matter that much I think, but I just [sp]saved Malik[/sp], and want at least that to count.
Shit, since nobody even replied I suppose it's safe to assume my DeusEx save IS stuck. god damnit
or you could install the debug menu
But then my choices will be lost.

Never mind. Managed to fix this. It just seems my save files were in a very weird place, very deep in my steam directory. Hmph.
I need to finish this game. Friend bought me Dead Island which I need to start playing and RO2 gets releases next week. It's like Christmas!
Sorry if this is a question that has been repeatedly asked recently, but is anyone else's DXHR crashing a lot? It seems like I cant play for more than 5 minutes without it happening. It's definitely not my computer because I could easily max it a few days ago.
I still don't know whether I should start a new save or not since my precious save got stuck. fucking bullshit
[sp]His genetic parents are the ones who started the fire in White Helix Labs after Jensen underwent gene therapy there[/sp]
So wait, [sp]infants/fetuses, being experimented on, by a shadowy organization, in an attempt to breed individuals with the potential to become supersoldiers? [/sp] Shit.
[sp]Anyone in any more doubt about Paul/JC being clones of Adam, watch the sarif ending. Hits you in the face like a sack of bricks. Not to mention the e-mails in singapore "a new type of aug, one who you couldn't see he was augmented from the outside, imagine the possibility of a million nanobots doing whatever the person wants. I'll start naming the projects after apostle's" something along that line. Not to mention the BLATANT way the names are relevant(Adam is the beginning, JC is "perfection"). It's not exactly something they tried to hide, it's in your face constantly[/sp]

I actually stopped playing for a few days because of it (I was in the China hub for the second time). I'm not sure if it's what fixed it, but when I reinstalled Steam the crashing stopped.
I cant seem to bring myself to ever get the typhoon, even if it's just for bosses.
no offence to you dude but i just fucking LOATHE that damned picture so MUCH
Not as much as I hate the CHALLENGE ACCEPTED one.
Holy fuck. I have been focusing on stealth so far, I sneak past enemies, while taking out those I need to, using nonlethal takedowns. Suddenly, first boss fight. Death smashes me in the face. God damn.
If, for some reason, you cannot play Deus Ex: Unreal Revolution, I have recorded a playthrough.
More and more people are starting to wake up to the fact that DLC is a messed up business!
Did anyone else find the AI, Eliza, to be out of place and tacky? Especially when she acted like we were great friends at the very end of the game? The ending felt like it was trying too hard to be Metal Gear to me too. Not a bad game but certainly not a scratch on the original Deus Ex. Personally I don't think I'd have finished it if I hadn't enjoyed the first so much.

Personally I don't think I'd have finished it if I hadn't enjoyed the first so much.
Firstly, spoiler tags. Secondly, I agree with you about [sp]The ending, Eliza just being there out of nowhere felt tacky to me.[/sp] But I, for one, believe that Human Revolution not only is worthy of the title "Deus Ex", I also believe it's an excellent game in its own right.
I was hoping that [sp]Eliza would turn out to be an android/cyborg or heavily augmented person. Her being an AI seemed a little off to me.[/sp] Even after putting about 40+ hours into the first playthrough, I was hoping the game would be a lot longer. Especially Panchaea, since [sp]the deranged people don't harm you, at all.[/sp] Also, does anyone else feel that the environment, atmosphere, and architecture in-game (Denton's apartment, especially) really helped with the immersion? Along with the cities you explore, but those did fall into the uncanny valley here and there. When it came to those same people just leaning against the wall all night or talking to the same person in the subway for hours. Also, why the hell do developers make the streets so god damn narrow? The Beth devs did it in Fallout 3, Starbreeze did it with The Darkness, and now it's the same with DE:HR. I understand the cars are smaller than usual, but jeez, it seemed like I could just hope from one sidewalk to the other. I'm referring to Detroit with this, Hengsha only has bikes and stuff so I can understand why the streets would be narrow. After [sp]reaching Picus Comms in Montreal, I was hoping that you'd get to explore Montreal for a bit.[/sp]
well she said why she was there [editline]10th September 2011[/editline] I like the atmosphere of the cities
