It would be interesting to see another game with that style though.
Its a little far out but I guess it would be more interesting, especially given that they weren't restricting themselves to 'realistic' augs at that point.
I don't understand why people keep saying they are fucked as non-lethal stealth Jensen when they encounter a boss. In my Pacifist run I carried all the stun weapons plus a combat rifle where I put all the upgrades that didn't fit the non-lethal items (majority). So when a boss came I just used that and it was fine.
My favorite playstyle in DX1: Always the ninja until it all went to hell and it was GEP Gun time. Similar with DXHR, always one kind of heavy weapon just in case. But even if you don't have any weapons I think there are some in each boss chamber, or there's at least an alternate way of damaging them. Their AI wasn't the most unpredictable either and you just needed to shoot it till it's dead. Not exactly much brain power needed, which made the boss fights feel not that much of an accomplishment IMO.
Did anyone here play a round without any guns at all? I'm thinking about something like that (maybe even without takedowns if at all possible and if it's still fun), but I think a certain resident of the Alice Garden Pods will be pretty pissed and/or baffled.[sp](Windmill)[/sp]

Only problem with no takedowns that I can see would be [sp]namir[/sp]
apart from that I can't think of anything in particular
did you know you can talk to the guy at the front desk and he can let you in
Quoting this so more people see. You can talk to the guy at the front counter and convince him to let you in. Before getting the game I watched TheRadBrad's LP of it for a bit. When he went Rambo on the police department I just couldn't stop thinking "What the hell is he doing?!"
I did horrible on my first run through the police station. I don't know whether it was because of the side-quests or not, but for some reason I tried building my way from the bottom up and couldn't avoid confrontation.
Felt bad about it because (most of) these cops just aren't bad guys, so I gave the front entrance a try eventually.
Almost shat myself when I turned the corner to the armoury and the guard there gets alerted and the camera starts beeping.

Need help! In Hengsha, part 2. Pritchard says I need a Biochip.
I've heard people say "don't get it"
Should I?
Loved this game from start to beginning. I know a lot of people might still find the original better but having played both consecutively I still widely prefer the third installment of the series, probably because it's modernized and will more likely age better than the first game did. Don't get me wrong, Deus Ex 1 is a lot of fun, but compared to what's being done today, it feels unfinished and clumsy.
Though I'll admit J.C Denton's "A BOMB" will always be my favorite line ever.

Only get it if you want more challenge towards the end of the game. That's all I can say without ruining the surprise.

The upcoming boss fight is better if you get the chip.
I wish there was a way to get the hallucinations at the end of the game, even in a less powerful version than everyone else. Would've been fun to walk in endless corridors while having pritchard running after you with that taser thing he uses at the beginning of the game.

I looked it up buddy.
I get all my augs disabled for the next boss? As fuckin' if.
It's possible to finish the entire game without the use of a single aug, don't be so scared.

I'm on Give Me Deus Ex. Against the boss, who is notouriously hard.
I'd like some Typhoon, please.
And this is why god invented the all mighty preorder grenade launcher.

I play pacifist, I wouldn't have needed it.
Whatevs, I'm fine without it. Typhoon's better anyway.
On another note, holy dogtits, that [sp]Malik crashsite[/sp] was fucking hard on pacifist.
I swear to god, I'm certain the Sentry Droid exploded and killed a belltower guard. I just know it.

It doesn't count if you're not the cause of his death, does it ?
Also, if you play on pacifist, you will logically have a lot of room in your inventory because of the lack of weapons as there are only two non lethal guns. Thus, storing the grenade launcher for the two last bosses of the game shouldn't be such a problem.
honestly jensen must be the most gravitationally challenged person on the planet
Hence Icarus landing system.
He's also made of metal, and metal is heavy.
[editline]12th September 2011[/editline]
Plus he's usually carrying half his body weight in guns, explosives and chocolate bars.
1. Jump
2. Realize you're heavy
3. Stop going forward, fall straight vertically on the ground
4. ???
5. Profit !
Yeah, jumping is a bit weird in this game. A game touting multipath approach to an objective and protagonist that can jump 3 meters high, you'd figure he would be able to also jump further and get into hard to reach places.
Thinking about this, I'd probably get boxed, but I wouldn't mind if you could actually use hands and move along the ledges, AC or SC style. I mean really, stealth is kinda big part of the game, and you only get basic jump here and crouch here system + cover, no grabbing, proning or any of that sort. Felt a bit too rigid for me. I wouldn't mind if it used battery, like heavy lifting or quiet walking does.
I wish you'd be able to go prone, to make sniping from a high place easier. Also, moving along edges would have been a great with all the exposed ventilation shafts and pipes there are in the environment.

I was able to walk on pipes to get to a place without proper augmentations multiple times.
