Strafe one step out in the open, shoot, step back, repeat.
Takes longer to get back in cover that way though. [editline]31st July 2011[/editline] And that wouldn't work for vents or ledges.
I usually buy Steam games during the sales, but yesterday, I finally bought Deus Ex: HR. As a huge fan of the first game, I had my doubts, but with the recent trailers and reviews, I finally bought (or pre-ordered to be exact) something from Steam that isn't under 20 dollars.
Did Icarus scare the shit out of anybody in Deus Ex when he first talked to you?
Did Icarus scare the shit out of anybody in Deus Ex when he first talked to you?
Yes, and then Helios scared it out of me even more later.
Did Icarus scare the shit out of anybody in Deus Ex when he first talked to you?
"I now have full access to your systems." That part really creeped me out.
ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>>ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>>>ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>>>>ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>>>>>ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>>>>>>ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>>>>>>>ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>>>>>>>>ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!!! >>>>>>>>>RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>>>>>RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>>>>RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>>>RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>>RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! >>>RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! >>RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! >RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!! Speaking of AIs, I'm playing through the leaked demo at the moment, shit's good, the cover system is actually done well so I don't mind it, but it rans terribly on my PC, I get 20fps on 800x600 with everything off or low, resulting in the tutorial videos playing at one third speed fucking up the audio and making them stutter, which made me fucking freeze when I opened one and was greeted by a voice talking about "ha-ha-hacking-ng" SHODAN style.
Okay, I'm not going to talk about Deus Ex exactly but this is what bugs me about TPSes, it feels like you're cheating when you're in cover but can see whenever your enemy is vulnerable. I'm not against cover system in Deus Ex though because they aren't forcing you to use it.
Thats the only thing that kind of ticks me off. Its not that I dislike it or anything, I actually love it, but... It seems to make it soo much easier.
Helios scared the shit out of me the first time around. I thought I had lost Daedalus, my only friend...
Installing Deus Ex 1, hoope I'm gonna have fun!
Installing Deus Ex 1, hoope I'm gonna have fun!
Don't even bother trying to pacifist run on your first try
Don't even bother trying to pacifist run on your first try
I've never even played this game before I don't even know what the heck I do
I've never even played this game before I don't even know what the heck I do
Put all skill points in swimming [editline]31st July 2011[/editline] You'll need it trust me
Put all skill points in swimming [editline]31st July 2011[/editline] You'll need it trust me
seriously? Alright, thanks.
am i stupid because i put 3 levels of swimming with my leftover skillpoints in hong kong just to make the swimming part less tedious?
I have a feeling swimming has no use and you guys were willing to lie to me :v: It's kay, but I've really never played this and I would like some help very much.
seriously? Alright, thanks.
No, he's joshing ya I put one point each in computers, electronics, lockpicking and pistol (not sure if you can do all those at the start of the game actually but those are the important skills if you want to be an infiltrator type, because let's face it, that's what you all wanna be, the first time at least)
I have a feeling swimming has no use and you guys were willing to lie to me :v: It's kay, but I've really never played this and I would like some help very much.
Hacking is a useful skill, get computers to trained at least. Distribute weapon skills as you see fit Be on the lookout for augmentation canisters
Helios scared the shit out of me the first time around. I thought I had lost Daedalus, my only friend...
Nice to know you cared so much about Paul. Or Alex, or Tong, or Carter, or Jamie... Or your best pilot bro, Jock.
Did anyone else pre-order from Greenman Gaming? Do you get the key immediately or on release date?
Nice to know you cared so much about Paul. Or Alex, or Tong, or Carter, or Jamie... Or your best pilot bro, Jock.
Alex and Jock were my favorite.
I have a feeling swimming has no use and you guys were willing to lie to me :v: It's kay, but I've really never played this and I would like some help very much.
No skills are necessarily "worthless" some are just very very specific, like Environmental Training and Swimming.
Poor Spekter, he's been gone for 2 weeks :(
like i said in the other thread, regen+bullet proof aug makes you nigh unstoppable at any instance in the game really
Until someone has a plasma rifle, you run into a gray or greasel or someone throws a grenade. Or you run out of batteries.
Running out of Batteries was never an issue for me, as soon as the Commandos were introduced I always had 20. Sweets are far harder to find in Human Revolution.
Do you guys think this is worth getting as someone who is mildly interested, but has effectively no knowledge of what Deus Ex is?
Do you guys think this is worth getting for someone who is mildly interested, but has effectively no knowledge of what Deus Ex is?
If you like exploration, paranoia and heavily plot based games you might, there's a leaked beta you could acquire and try out since there's no legit demo.
Do you guys think this is worth getting as someone who is mildly interested, but has effectively no knowledge of what Deus Ex is?
Yes, it's a prequel so it won't be based on a comprehensive knowledge of the original game.
Did anyone else pre-order from Greenman Gaming? Do you get the key immediately or on release date?
I pre-ordered from GMG, and from what I've read we will get our keys on release date or possibly earlier for pre-loading on Steam.
I pre-ordered from GMG, and from what I've read we will get our keys on release date or possibly earlier for pre-loading on Steam.
That's how I understood it too.
