Is there any xp related advantage to being pacifistic, versus non lethally (and silently) eliminating everything?
Stupid fucking Talion A.D. quest is broken. Any time I enter an area different than Youhzho district, it deletes the email, making it impossible to achieve it. And if I don't leave, it never registers the email as read. Fuck you. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] also, bodies I knock out keep phasing through the ground I swear to god if those register as kills, I will fuckin' end someone. I'm at the Belltower port, I've worked my FUCKING ASS OFF to play pacifist, even saved [sp]Malik PACIFIST, ON GIVE ME DEUS EX[/sp] and I'm not letting anything stop me.

You just have to investigate all the sewers to find the guy on your own. iirc he's in the one by the pod place.
IMO, the ending where you [sp]destroy the facility[/sp] is the best if you played mostly pacifist. It was so idealistic and happy but not the crappy kind of happy, the good kind of happy. This is the only game worth the $60 I spent on it

[/sp]No matter how many times I search for him through the sewers, every last corner and path, I can't find Zelazny.[/sp]

It worked this time though. I also ruined my pacifist run to save Faridah. Well worth it though.
[sp] Yes, except you kill the hundreds of innocents on the station and if you played pacifist it makes it hilariously idiotic. "WHO AM I TO DECIDE THE FATE OF HUMANITY?" -Kills everyone on the station- [/sp]
Eliza must be a fan of bitter-sweet irony
Deus ex loading screen BROUGHT TO YOU BY STAR WARS THE COMPLETE SAGA seriously why is this in my game [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] to people who think im bullshitting http://www.themogblog.com/2011/09/15/deus-ex-augmenting-real-advertisements-in-your-games/
Seems it's for rental copies of the game
Wow, seriously? Who thought it'd be a good idea to put advertisements in the game? The only one I liked was the candy-eating Geisha, which was a nice reference to Blade Runner.
I'm on my second playthrough right now, the first one was mostly for the story, this one is for fucking around- [sp] Remember that sidequest where some guy calls you to your office and tells you he stole neuropozyne and now he doesn't want to, but some guy has the footage of him doing it? Well, if you did that mission, you know that once you get to the guy's apartment and get the footage, a dealer or something walks in with a shotgun (he wants to kill the guy who owns the apartmant, you just happen to be there). So I shot a tranquilizer dart at him and knocked him out, but then I thought "hmmmm, how can I make this more fun?" Then I remembered there's an apartment in the building which had 3 frag mines in it around a bed, so I dragged him there, disabled all the mines, placed him lying down on the bed and then activated all the mines and closed the door. That's gonna hurt in the morning.[/sp]
I was wondering around the Hive during Malik's quest ([sp]going to confront Lee[/sp]), when I notice the subtitles have two people talking about a guy going up the stairs. It went something like this: - That one going up the stairs? In the jacket? - Yeah, that one. I'd definitely do him. - Yeah. Two things make any man look good: black turtlenecks, and sunglasses. I'm wearing a turtleneck now. Where's all the babes?
Just wondering, what are our opinions on possible real life augmentation? I'm for the idea of augmenting ourselves for the greater good.
I think its great but I also hate the fact that you have to get it when its essential in getting a job and all that stuff
I'm a bit disappointed that [sp]I didn't get the choice for the sarif ending, I couldn't find him[/sp]
The fact that mechanical augmentations can be better on all points than human limbs is pretty much a fantasy - there will always be huge downsides. You might be able to lift half a ton with your arms, but you'll have to put much more care into your mechanical limbs, including having to separately clean up all parts. You'd also need to give them proper energy for them to work - putting a dynamo here and here won't give enough power to use them perfectly all the time and I doubt chocolate bars are sufficient. There's also the body rejecting the augmentations problem. Should we ever get to an advanced enough technology to use advanced mechanical prosthesis on human beings, it would already be a miracle that it is as efficient as a regular part. Some people already have some sorts of advanced prosthesis (including a film maker who lost his eye and got it replaced with a camera), but we still need a few decades in my opinion to see it appear at its full potential. And even there, it will be only used for people who actually miss a limb or have a badly formed organ.
Guys did you find [sp]The pocket secretary on the roof of the petrol station? It says about filming the start of the riots and pointing the camera "Between the rioters and the police, so both sides think the other fired first". It was next to a sniper rifle, too.[/sp] What was that all about?
[sp]i recall something about it not making a difference who starts the clash, and that once it starts neither side cares who started it and just go at eachother.[/sp] I forgot if i read it or if it was dialogue.
They just want to start a riot by paying someone to shoot in the middle of the crowd so no one knows who fired first, the cops or the mob.

First playthrough I didn't have it, but I wanted to get up there. So I stacked aload of barrels on the dumpster behind it and climbed up that way. Dat freedom.

Or you can find a pocket secretary right in front of Sarif building in of the bushes which gives you the code for the door behind the billboard. Also I, too, think mechanical augmentation is more of a dream than future. I think we will learn how to grow new limbs and transplant them before that. With mech. augmentation there can be problems with energy, material, reliability, possible rejection (the body might accept the "natural" limbs better). Nano-augmentations, that's a different story.
Also someone has already managed to create a gel that helps tissues to regenerate beyond normal abilities. He had one phalanx cut off his finger and after regular application of the gel for a month, his phalanx grew back. We are also already able to create artificial blood that is perfectly received by people. No doubt the next step will be the cloning of specific organs by using a compatible donor's genes followed by transplanting on someone else.

Human cloning is prohibited, cloning research isn't. Selective cloning that gives the ability to clone only a specific part of a human being is being studied. Also I doubt the absence of cloning would lead us necessarily to a faster, better science. We would just get more dangerous projects.

You know what I thought would have made the ending better? [sp]Firstly, no silly small room with just three buttons. Just have the decision take place in the Hyron Project chamber itself, would make the ending feel at least a little bit more grand. Secondly, self-destruct shouldn't be a conscious choice for mentioned reasons - then why not make it that Panchaea starts self-destructing after the Hyron Project's destruction regardless, and that the player just makes a choice to either send one of the three broadcasts as one last message, or send nothing, which would be the same as the self-destruct ending but without Jensen actively killing hundreds of people?[/sp]
