gonna need a source for that, tim
http://health.howstuffworks.com/human-body/cells-tissues/extracellular-matrix.htm
You know, I never got that whole "cutting off limbs to get better, mechanical limbs" thing. Why not just use an external skeleton built on your hand and get it done with?
You know, I never got that whole "cutting off limbs to get better, mechanical limbs" thing. Why not just use an external skeleton built on your hand and get it done with?
Exoskeletal stuff doesn't work as well as actual replacements.
I just realised that Deus Ex and Human Revolution are basically exactly analogous to Star Trek from the 60s/70s and the JJ Abrams Star Trek reboot. They're both reboots of an old franchise with hardcore fans that had to be placated, while still being marketable to a mainstream audience. They're both prequels with token appearances of characters from the originals. They both have a subtle but distinct shift in tone. Just watch this review and note the similarities. http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/star-trek/star-trek-09/ I mean, Yahtzee's comment about HR being a FPS with RPG elements rather than a FPSRPG like DX1 is basically this:
I like my Scifi slow and dull, and I like my action movies fast and awesome. Which is why to me, Star Trek is an action movie, and for an action movie it's a pretty darn good one.

You know what I thought would have made the ending better? [sp]Firstly, no silly small room with just three buttons. Just have the decision take place in the Hyron Project chamber itself, would make the ending feel at least a little bit more grand. Secondly, self-destruct shouldn't be a conscious choice for mentioned reasons - then why not make it that Panchaea starts self-destructing after the Hyron Project's destruction regardless, and that the player just makes a choice to either send one of the three broadcasts as one last message, or send nothing, which would be the same as the self-destruct ending but without Jensen actively killing hundreds of people?[/sp]
You make a lot of sense. I was kind of surprised [sp]Panchea wasn't collapsing when the Hyron Core was destroyed.[/sp]
[sp]Sounds like the riots were incited by someone, someone hid on the roof, shot a cop, then cops shot at the rioters, and thus fighting breaks out?[/sp]
I think the part [sp]where the rihanna bitch was shooting at both parties to make the shoot each other is much much better(in CGI trailer)[/sp]
-snip- mis-read post
The trailers aren't canon though. They show [sp] Barrett alive at the docks (when he dies before that), and Yelena Fedorova opening fire on a crowd which as far as I know never happens as non of the two riots involve firearms, just fist, rocks and firebombs [/sp]
I think what happened there was they had the CGI done before they cut content and changed the story up.
Yeah Squeenix was responsible for the whole marketing thing.
Yeah Squeenix was responsible for the whole marketing thing.
To be fair they did ok getting it noticed, but the inaccuracies in the trailers are pretty damn abysmal when you look at them now. Especially how the characters look.
Also they said plants in your apartment would die out if you didn't take care of them. WHERE ARE MY PLANTS TO TAKE CARE OF !
Also they said plants in your apartment would die out if you didn't take care of them. WHERE ARE MY PLANTS TO TAKE CARE OF !
No, they said that Adam's plants died in his apartment because he was so fucking depressed that he didn't bother watering them.
No, they said that Adam's plants died in his apartment because he was so fucking depressed that he didn't bother watering them.
There are dead plants in his apartment?
There's one that isn't in a good shape but that's about it. Also Jensen fucking love cereals.
Well something did die: [sp] Kubrick :( [/sp]
Well something did die: [sp] Kubrick :( [/sp]
I found the office of the person responsible (Gonzales) and filled it with vending machines and bins.
There's one that isn't in a good shape but that's about it. Also Jensen fucking love cereals.
I honestly don't see someone like Adam get up in the morning and pour himself a bowl of cereal
he doesn't need to, his arms are augmented to contain a storage of cereal, milk, spoons and bowls the latter two can double as weapons or replacement typhoon balls if necessary
I hate how they decided to give you the preorder exclusive weapons right at the beginning of the game directly in your inventory, because I can never get myself to throw them away. If they decided to put them on a wall right at the beginning of the game I could've ignored them.
They did? Because I only found the preorder grenade launcher and remote det packs near the end of the game. Or are you talking about the preorder shotgun and sniper rifle?
Shotgun and sniper, yep.
I honestly don't see someone like Adam get up in the morning and pour himself a bowl of cereal
Look around his appartment
Update with a lot of fixes just came in for me
Update with a lot of fixes just came in for me
Yep [release]Deus Ex: Human Revolution Update Released Product Update - Valve The new patch addresses a variety of issues as well as adds some new features: Fixes: - We have addressed various issues that can occur for players that would result in ‘stuttering’. o Stutters that are the result of graphics driver shader processing are now removed or significantly reduced. o Stutters that are the result of data streaming have been removed or significantly reduced. o Performance has been improved and made more stable on dual-core systems. This could previously also result in stuttering. - Fixed issue where some players couldn’t complete the Motherly Ties side quest. - Fixed an issue where doors in Omega Ranch sometimes wouldn’t open. - The TYM medical card should no longer fall through the table if an NPC’s body comes into contact with the card. Players already stuck in this area will need to revert to a previous save before the card fell through. - Occasional hangs for some players during video-playback have been fixed. - A crash on startup when running DX11 on a single-core CPU has been fixed. - An issue causing Eyefinity setups to not be correctly detected for some players has been fixed. - Fixed an issue where the HUD would get permanently disabled for some players. - Fixed certain issues that caused the mouse cursor to be able to leave the game-screen on multi-monitor setups. - Fixed an issue that caused the mouse cursor to not be visible in-game when the user has mouse trails enabled in Windows. We still recommend disabling mouse trails for a smoother in-game mouse cursor. - Fixed issue where ammo count for collected guns is incorrect when Adams weapon is augmented. - In DX9 mode: o Fixed error message for some users when trying to use FXAA Medium or FXAA Low anti aliasing modes. o Fixed shadow-mapping ‘lines’ on some graphics hardware when using anisotropic filtering. Feature Additions: - The Enter and Numpad-Enter keys can now be bound to game actions in the keyboard control menu. - Intro logos can now be skipped on all but the first run of the game. - Added windowed mode. o Selectable in the menu, and can be toggled between windowed, fullscreen, and fullscreen windowed using ALT-ENTER. - Added an option to change the text language of the game. This setting only changes the text language, the audio is controlled by the language option in Steam. On top of this we are continuing to monitor for any issues that may need to be addressed in a future patch. One extra feature we can already confirm for a future patch is support for Nvidia 3DVision and Nvidia Surround. We hope this patch will allow players to further enjoy Deus Ex: Human Revolution.[/release] [editline]15th September 2011[/editline]
Shotgun and sniper, yep. Look around his appartment
I know he eats cereal, but I just don't see someone like Adam pouring himself a bowl of cereal
I just realized, Adam can't ever swing dance without killing someone Damn typhoon
His breakfast is augmented
Does this mean the Debug patch doesn't works anymore?
Fucking finally can skip the intro.
Hey there's a windowed mode for those who were complaining about that.
The patch also adds an advertisement for the Star Wars Bluray release during loading screens
The patch also adds an advertisement for the Star Wars Bluray release during loading screens
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING
Does it really matter?
