I did the same and then I thought "This is going to come back and bite me in the butt isn't it?"
IS IT BAD THAT I GOT THE BIOCHIP UPGRADE?
The story doesn't change in any significant way.

Phew, was getting worried.
Getting or not getting the biochip doesn't change anything major. But the right decision does reward you with better dialog.
I like what Jensen says "was something surpose to happen"
He's in Montreal, isn't he?
[sp]He's supposed to be in Paris in the book, at least he is in the end.[/sp]
When I had to get the biochip, I was like "holy shit it's awesome they made it realistic by just randomly having these glitches." Didn't think anything suspicious seeing as the first time you have your augmentations you have to get Pritchard to fix them.
I got the chip because I just happened to pass a limb clinic at the last second
I didn't take the chip.
The first thing that I thought when I heard of the new chip was "This is probably some tracer or something. Definitely won't take this".
I took it on the second playthrough though, since I wanted to see what it does.
What does it do anyway?
What does it do anyway?
It stops the glitches that you get.
It stops the glitches that you get.
It stops the ONE glitch that you get after that sidequest. The rest of the game, no more glitches even with the old chip.

Yeah, well anyway, not like there's any other purpose for that chip.
Guys, spoilers.

You're right, the main reason for the new [sp]biochip is to control people.[/sp] I was just scared the first time the [sp]glitches[/sp] would get worse and got it even though I was sure it's a trap.

Suuuure.
The Icarus Effect gives some help with that on its first chapter.
It mentions a [sp]Scientist in Singapore with a dry English Accent -> Darrow as his Omega Ranch is in Singapore.
Voice from Hengsha -> Zhoa
Voice from Paris -> Lucius' protege
The others are said to be from Dubia (female), Washington, Hong Kong, New York. And are described as the politician, the thinker, and the businessman. For them I have no idea. One may be Page, representing Majestic 12 [/sp]
[sp]I'm pretty sure the businessman from new york is stanton dowd, in the original deus ex he says he used to be a leading member of the illuminati and large businessman, plus that was in new york, so it's probably him.[/sp]

Hm, I'm worried about the recent update/patch. Before it my game never crashed. Since the update it crashed 2 times already.
[sp]Destroying panchea so no one knows what happened makes sense....sort of. What about Pritchard? Seems like a bit of an oversight[/sp]

[sp]Maybe he doesn't have any evidence backed up anywhere for it in which case he is useless. I'm sure the Illuminati could take care of him regardless. [/sp]
I took the chip [sp]And it still only took me 2 tries to kill the boss[/sp]

[sp]Maybe the Pilot (Can't remember what her name is, malik? marik?) could convince him to be quiet [/sp]
I took the chip [sp]And it still only took me 2 tries to kill the boss[/sp]
[sp]took me a couple of tries, but I ended up beating it no sweat[/sp]
I'm kinda disappointed that [sp]the only consequence of saving Malik is that she helps you clear one helipad in Singapore.[/sp]
Just like [sp]Paul[/sp]
Yeah one thing that is terrible about saving characters in DX games is that the only reward is a single scene changing (IE Paul appearing before you get to Page in DX1).
BTW, if IW is remade then there needs to be a total rethinking.
1. Paul is dead. NO QUESTIONS. Paul living is a generic happily ever after ending.
2. Jock lives. He was too good a character to ignore in Invisible Dick.
3. NO MORE UNIAMMO.
4. No game changing decisions at the beginning.
5. The beginning needs to be rethought. That makes no sense how someone could destroy a city with some lipstick that turns everything to stone.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh and if there is a DX remake there should be something like the typhoon that sends an energy pulse/whateverthefuck out that turns every NPC and destructable entity in a certain radius to stone.
it seems i might actually be able to make it use real email (my site)
agree for make it use email

I didn't have any problems with the universal ammo
