Anyone know if http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23737955/crx/Release_BETA_V2.rar works with the newest patch? [editline]2nd October 2011[/editline] Or if there are newer ones.
Have you guys seen these videos? This guy is a genius when it comes to breaking DX1 [editline]2nd October 2011[/editline] Strange... A problem, JC. Media tags don't seem to be working.
Don't know what you're talking about with the first boss, sure you can just keep shooting him but that's not where the challenge was. If it was as easy as just shooting him a lot, then I wouldn't have got so frustrated. I beat him on my first try in about half a minute by just going from cover to cover blindfiring at him with my machine pistol Didn't know about using mark and track for the second boss - When I tried using it on some of the cloaking enemies, it stopped working. Worked just fine for me, just used mark and track and shot her face with a shotgun every time she charged at me, was easy as hell. Last boss you hardly needed weapons at all, the [sp]zombies[/sp] weren't much of a threat, I just needed a couple of EMP grenades for the bots. I had no EMP grenades with me at all and it was still insanely easy just because that i could take down each bot with a few shots of my revolver, and as you said the zombies were no problem, i just ignored them really. As for takedowns - Eidos stated that they needed the takedowns to use energy because otherwise it would have just been too easy if you could use them any time you wanted. This kind of is the same as with the second part, i would much have preferred if there was a actual balanced melee system in this game instead of takedowns which you can barely ever use because of the energy cost. Your second point is you just being dumb and elitist. Same as before Clipping through walls was rarely a problem for the enemies, although I do recall a couple of times where Adam himself would clip into a wall if, say, I walked around a corner to take them down. Really? It happened constantly for me that they got stuck in like a crate or a wall or something. And timestop? What timestop? If someone sees you taking someone down then they'll react instantly and you're likely to get a face full of bullet. Whenever you do a takedown time just stops until you finish it/him.
Also, now that i think about it, i dont think i have seen a single female enemy through this entire game, not counting bosses ofcourse.
The first boss was the only challenging one imo because I didn't have any upgrades or combat augs (hacker stealth run). For every other boss, I just upgraded my revolver with explosive ammo and killed them in 5 seconds as they stumbled over their own feet with each explosion v:v:v
I pretty much had nothing either, but actually you can find a machine pistol and a decent amount of ammunition during the boss fight, so even if you for some reason did not already have one, you could just grab one there. And also it kind of sucks you have to kill the bosses, and you can't use stealth like at all.
Media tags aren't working you're right. I never got a final answer on how to fix the voices cutting off in Deus Ex.
And also it kind of sucks you have to kill the bosses, and you can't use stealth like at all.
You can use stealth, the first one in particular has plenty of hiding spots and if you cloak and run you can stay hidden in any of the fights. You have to kill them because the narrative would be absolutely no sense otherwise. They're the guys who broke into your workplace, blew everything up, killed your girlfriend, (almost) killed you then burnt it to the ground. They had to make it so that you killed them, hell, it was the same in DX1 with Anna and Gunther - sure it was possible to glitch your way past them but the game always treated them as if they died afterwards. [editline]2nd October 2011[/editline] And the takedowns - "Could barely ever use them"? The regen time wasn't that long, especially if you upgraded it, and you only ever need one battery to use them. The takedowns were pretty balanced in terms of energy cost, if they could be used all the time, it would be ridiculously overpowered.
Excuse me for not wanting to go up, punch a guy in the face, go back, wait behind a chest high wall for a minute, then do it ten more times.
Don't rely on takedowns all the time then you goon. [editline]2nd October 2011[/editline] I don't see how it would be fun for you if you just ran around punching everyone in the face with no restrictions whatsoever.
What the hell is so wrong about the energy system? If you upgrade the recharge it's manageable. And if you need more energy don't tell me you don't have a bar or a whole pack, they are almost everywhere in the game world. My only real complaint about the takedowns is that if the environment was a bit complex you could appear in the air or wall and if you did it at the edge of a rooftop you often let the enemy fall down.

It's called playing how you want it to play. If someone wants to abuse the takedowns, let them. Everyone else has self-control and can use it when they think it should be used. I really don't see the problem.
I tried doing a double take down once, only one of them was sitting down so I ended up teleporting behind a wall and strangling him.
I use either the shotgun or the revolver, I love upgrading them both until Jensen should be nerfed into hell Burst-round system + upgraded magazine that holds 16 shells + 4 damage upgraded = DESTRUCTION The wiki says the shotgun can use a laser sight but it can't, the fuck?

By your logic there should be a button you can press to win the game - If someone wants to abuse it, let them, everyone else has self control!
Could someone link me the latest debug thingamajig.
holy shit Hugh Darrow = Mr. Ratburn

Eliza has sexy voice :V:
Really it comes down to the fact that this is not at all like what i think a Deus Ex game should be, what with completely removing any trace of actual choice in how you play, which was pretty much the focus of the first one, no real skill system, and fucking instant kill melee takedowns that break the rules of space and time.
too bad
Indeed.
Same fun if you play with the trainer or debug menu. It's called playing how you want it to play. Also i like how Adam has an implant IN HIS ARM that lets him see walls that are weak enough to be destroyed by weapons fire/punching through them.

Stop nitpicking.
They don't make you see, they make you strong enough. Stop nitpicking.
Actually they do make you see, they make them highligt in yellow, and it's not even like you have to punch through them, you can just use explosive's, so it's not just because there would be no point in knowing them before you get the upgrade. And excuse me for thinking that is hilarious, the way i see it he has like a camera in his arm that can see how "weak" or "strong" a wall is with magic. And he also has some implant which makes him able to stop time while he punches people, but only while he punches people, i mean that is fucking hilarious, imagine him hiring some moron to be his punching bag and then punching him constantly while dragging him right into the middle of somewhere, making him just appear there out of nowhere with some halfway dead dude next to him.
Actually they do make you see, they make them highligt in yellow, and it's not even like you have to punch through them, you can just use explosive's, so it's not just because there would be no point in knowing them before you get the upgrade. I'm just saying, I'd like your issues with the game to make sense.
Well maybe they highlight them because before you weren't strong enough to take advantage of them? And not all of these issues are really issues per se, it's just things i find really funny and which distract me from what is supposed to be a serious story.
