Nice..im tempted to play the leak but I'd rather just wait just a short while longer until the final (polished) game has been released. I think I'll probably pre order it today.
Wait for the full game because it will be more satisfying. And yes, definitely pre-order because we need to send a message to developers that we want games that allow player creativity and freedom.
Should I preorder it on steam right now? not_sure_if_trust the pc gamer and XBOX magazine reviews. I don't feel like getting invisible-war'ed again but I think they learned from their mistakes of the last game.
I'm going to preorder and I'm a tight fisted git, it's going to be one of the best RPGs of the last few years if the leak is anything to go by. Only thing I can mark it down on is that they haven't announced mod tools and the leak doesn't really give you any indication of how much conspiracyness happens in the plot.
leak doesn't really give you any indication of how much conspiracyness happens in the plot.
Did we play the same leak? I saw conspiracies everywhere.
Did we play the same leak? I saw conspiracies everywhere.
Other than [sp]the hacker saying "help me" before he shot himself and if you talk to Zeke you find out he was set up[/sp] there wasn't much that I saw, but my game crashed when I talked to the lady in the clinic, so I don't think I got far.
Snip the link from the chat quote, Dain, or you'll get yourself in the jail too.
The lack of obvious conspiracies is what i loved with the leak. You did a lot of stuff for UNATCO before you left, and that was early in the game. I bet, considering "I dont know whos side im on", that we'll leave Sarif too once.
How many missions are in the leak? And how did it leak?
It's about a third of the game, five missions in total all based in Detroit, one of the city hubs. And if I remember right, this one Italian gaming magazine released the press release on their site and when someone got the hold of it, it got posted on /v/ and it got all viral.
Other than [sp]the hacker saying "help me" before he shot himself and if you talk to Zeke you find out he was set up[/sp] there wasn't much that I saw, but my game crashed when I talked to the lady in the clinic, so I don't think I got far.
[sp]The intro sequence with Page and the cop cover-up of what happened to whats-her-face[/sp] come to mind.

I could sense the Illuminati's influence pervading everything I encountered, but they were just hints that will get expanded upon later.
How many missions are in the leak? And how did it leak?
Most of the first city, was a press version afaik.

Have they said if this will be as long as the original Deus Ex?
Have they said if this will be as long as the original Deus Ex?
Main quest is 25 hours long, 40 hours if you dick around and explore everything and do the sidemissions.
Alright after much toil I'll be attempting to stream in a second if x amount of people are in. http://www.livestream.com/spektersgoodgaems

Swedens biggest gaming magazine wont review Deus Ex: Human Revolution because of demands from Square Enix and according to them every other magazine got the same demands. Their reason for not accepting the demands is cause it would hurt their credibility.
Those idiots are damaging their credibility by NOT reviewing such a great fucking game.
Those idiots are damaging their credibility by NOT reviewing such a great fucking game.
No, if the publisher is putting restrictions on the review they should not in any case review it. And looking at their sites it's plastered with DE:HR ads, so it would be like the Kane & Lynch + Gamespot situation, either they give a favorable review but lose credibility because there's a lot of ad money involved, or they give a shitty review and never get review copies from Square Enix again. It's about journalistic integrity and I agree with them. My favorite gaming magazine doesn't do that many pre-release reviews anymore, because they've pissed off a lot of publishers with honest reviews.

That game was shit. This one is not.
The KL situation was different. That game was shit. This one is not.
But there'd always be the suspicion that the high score was due to the ads. If only our american courts had the same sense of restraint.
I gave this game the benefit of the doubt because I like the devs attitudes (players wanted object highlighting optional, so they made it optional) and the things I'm hearing about this game. If this game pulls a Brink on me I think it may be the last time I ever pre order a game.
The KL situation was different. That game was shit. This one is not.
It doesn't matter whether the game is good or not, it's about journalistic integrity.
Brink looked terrible from the beginning.
Wish I made a gif of that crowbar throw, it was amazing.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of Jensen Adventures but I'm changing the pace of the updates so that I won't overdo it and get bored of it. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] (like anyone actually cares about that)
