In fact, the main issue with IGN is that they assign the wrong people to the wrong games all the time, usually the reviewer either doesn't enjoy the type of game that he's reviewing or knows nothing about it, which is especially bad considering the fact that one of the main rules of making half-decent reviews of anything is to have as little bias as possible. At worst, I can see it being another Alpha Protocol, in which everyone comes down with the stupid disease one day and decides that it's the best idea to assign the same people that review nothing but arcade-y shooters to a story-driven FPS-RPG hybrid, then everyone says that it's crap because they were expecting something completely different. Although I doubt it will be like that, because I think most of the flak towards AP was from the fact that a lot of reviewers couldn't understand the incredible alien concept of not being able to hit someone's eyeball with a pistol from across the map from the word go, and actually needing to use skill points to become more efficient with certain mechanics in the game. Still, even with the brilliant usage of proper streamlining (i.e, still having really well-done game mechanics without making it over-complex or dumbing it down too much), I can still see a lot of them saying, as was said before, that the mechanics are "too thinly spread" like they do with just about every game that tries to have more than one singular mechanic.
