Don't forget to include his partner, Agent Oh Range, who isn't who he claims to be.
[release]Chapter 1: The Curse It was at the crack of dawn, when agent Gunther Hermann, parched from his previous assignment, sat up in his bed and opened the window curtains. A clock appeared from the window and gave Gunther the time. The digital clock showed: 4:23 AM. Gunther knew water would not commend his desire for a drink, but he also knew that he was restricted to leave his room and venture into the main levels until 6:00 AM. Minutes passed, yet Gunther’s stomach proceeded to tease him. He took a long, deep thought about sneaking out to the break room to grab a can of Orange soda from the vending machine. He gave it a second thought, and managed to put his mind, and lust for Orange soda, at ease. Suddenly, Gunther fell into a deep trance. He was in the break room alongside fellow agent, Anne Navarre. While listening to what Anne was speaking to him about, Gunther slipped a credit into the machine and hit the ‘Orange’ button. To his complete surprise, Orange did not fall out of the machine, but instead, Lemon-Lime; Gunther’s biggest fear. Gunther ejaculated a curse, which interrupted what Anne was speaking to Gunther about. Anne, in almost a repulsive manner, asked “Are you sure you pressed the right button?” “I do not make mistakes of that kind!” Gunther replied, almost trembling. “Your hand might have slipped.” Anne replied, trying to resolve the situation and return to her previous conversation. Calmly, Gunther replied, “No, I wanted Orange. It gave me Lemon-Lime.” Anne did not buy it. She knew Gunther was poor in English, and again, tried to resolve the situation. “The machine would not make a mistake!” she answered. “It’s the maintenance man. He knows I like Orange!” Gunther blurted out. He was almost certain it was the maintenance man. Anne seemed furious, almost yelling, “So you think the staff has some kind of plot?” “Yes! They do that on purpose!” Gunther blurted out, with confidence, trying to convince Anne that he knew for a fact it was the maintenance man. Before Anne could continue, they both notice a man in a blue trench-coat walking towards them, peering towards them behind his dark sunglasses. Gunther quickly leapt out of bed, sweat soaking his entire body where flesh still lay. He knew he had to go to the break room and check the machine, or else, his mind would never be at ease again. However, the act could risk his entire career. Gunther knew what he had to do. If someone did, in fact, tamper with the machine, he had to find the culprit. Before he left his room, Gunther muttered, in German, "I'll never stop looking." [/release] [release]Chapter 2: Sylvester O. Range It was midnight. One of the janitors, dressed in a long, dark coat, began making his rounds. He was assigned to clean all of Level 2, which included the break room. Hired three weeks ago by UNATCO, hand-picked by Joseph Manderley himself, Sylvester O. Range (according to his janitorial profile), was not who everyone at UNATCO believed him to be. Some agents at UNATCO don’t believe he really exists, since he only traverses the dark UNATCO corridors late at night, when everyone else has restricted access at that time. The man was around his 30s, possessed a full beard, and had plenty of augmentations. However, since he was known as a mystery man, nobody knew he possessed any bodily enhancements. His face provided an even bigger mystery; his face possessed many scars, which protruded noticeably outward from his face. Secretly, he was an agent sent to spy on UNATCO late at night. But what was this man’s goal? Find out, tomorrow! When Chapter 2 continues![/release] Feel free to PM me ideas. If I take yours, I don't want it to spoil for everyone else. PM me and I'll work on it tomorrow. But for now, byebye.
My gay as shit internet security prevents me from accessing the site. Piss off!
Sounds more like a quality filter than security.
I'm back guys. So after 100 quickloads I finished the statue of liberty level. Didn't get the extra creds for saving herman though. And yes I did go into the ladies bathroom and laughed at the vending machine conversation. Also Maybe I shoulda invested in a swimming a bit.
Wow, this owns. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] Someone needs to make the lyrics completely DX based.
I plan to make my story very long, by the way; so after today, one chapter per day. Should be long enough to last until the next day.
How long is the leak anyway?
Oh my god... Just met Simons for the first time and read Paul's email. This shit got very interesting all of a sudden.

Surprise! I'm releasing Chapter 2 today. I'll continue with 3 tomorrow. IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE LEAK, I RECOMMEND SKIPPING THE SCENE WITH ALL THE DIALOGUE. CONTINUE AT, "THE CHAT CONTINUED..." [release] Chapter II: Sylvester O. Tonight was a different night for O. Range. Typically, he would make his rounds and return back to his redacted room inside the janitor’s closet. But tonight was different. Tonight, O. Range had his eye on a very popular vending machine amongst the staff at UNATCO. The vending machine O-range had his eye on, was in the break room on Level 2. His goal was to jury-rig the machine, to provide endless stream of Lemon-Lime flavored beverages. After hijacking the machine, he would replace all the Orange cans with Lemon-Lime cans, and return the stolen Orange cans to his redacted storage room where he hides. Sylvester O. Range would then ship the Orange away to whomever he worked for, for further procedures to take place. For now, his only job was to smuggle the cans out of the UNATCO facility. Sylvester O. Range was not the only person to smuggle Orange soda from the machines. All around the world, special agents have been sent to hijack machines to replace the Orange beverage with the Lemon-Lime beverage. However, nobody knows who is in charge, and why they would steal large quantities of the popular beverage. At exactly midnight, Sylvester slipped out of his redacted room in the janitor’s closet and out into the main halls. Everything seemed to be going as usual. He knew that he only had a certain amount of time in the break room before security behind the cameras had reason to believe that he was taking too long. When he reached the break room, O. Range scurried quickly, yet casually, towards the vending machine, purposely neglecting to clean the lounging room before the kitchen. He dropped his gear, and pulled out his equipment, which was disguised as typical janitor equipment, to jury-rig the vending machine. Carefully, and with great precision, Sylvester began to rig the machine. It was a new, modern machine which was tough to break inside, and used high-tech security to prevent access. However, due to his professional accuracy and his augmentations, Sylvester was easily able to open the machine and examine the contents which lay inside. His time was running short. After quickly collecting all of the Orange cans, he replaced the missing Orange beverages with the Lemon-Lime beverages. Everything was in place. All Sylvester had to do now was to seal the vending machine to make it appear so it seemed everything was normal. This took half the time as it took to get the machine open. With a stride of success, O. Range walked casually out of the kitchen and finished cleaning the rest of the break room. After the break room, Sylvester was finished for the night. The operation was a success, or, at least, that is what it seemed to be. O. Range returned to his secret room. It was hidden in a small door contained within his own janitor’s locker, and only he had the nanokey to gain access. Quickly walking down a long, enclosed spiral staircase, he entered his room. This room was unknown to the entire UNATCO staff. O. Range proceeded down the short corridor. There were three doors in this small hallway, one on the right and two on the left. O. Range entered the one on his right, and proceeded into a large room with high tech computer equipment and the entirety of UNATCO’s security network. In the center of the room was the communication equipment used to relay communication back to O. Range’s base of operation. He and three other users were waiting to relay their progress to whoever was in charge. Finally, after a good number of minutes, a young man’s voice initiated the chat with O. Range and the three other agents. “Is everything in place?” the young man asked with illuminating curiosity. “Almost,” a woman began, hesitantly. “What do you mean, ‘almost’?” the young man calmly showed his dissatisfaction. “I have spoken with Montreal,” the women quelled. “The vending machines are ours when we need them. A few weeks of discomfort and the public will be primed for our recall.” “And the clinics?” the young man asked. “We control their beverage supply. They will do as we say.” A heavy sounding man interjected. “I still think we should wait for the referendum.” O. Range proceeded to suggest. The heavy sounding man quickly responded in disagreement, “We cannot afford to wait! America’s Beverage Board convenes next month!” O. Range was confident, and replied, “But the mood among the Orange beverage is shifting! I’m positive, that, given more time-” “No,” the young man interrupted. “By going public with this discovery, Sarif is forcing our hand.” “The beverage preference will not change overnight just because David Sarif wills it. Besides, we can do nothing until our Lemon-Lime supply is ready.” A new man contributed in a completely calm and relaxed manner. “I thought you said you were close!” the woman tried to scold. “Finding the correct ingredients has proven to be more challenging than anticipated. Fortunately, thanks to David, I now know where to look.” The new man reassured the woman. The chat continued for another good ten minutes. For the most part, everything was successful. O. Range disappointed that they did not agree, he most certainly believed that waiting for a referendum on the preferred beverage would possibly save many agents from the backbreaking work of hijacking vending machines around the world. If Lemon-Lime had won the vote, then continued operations would not seem necessary. Sylvester O. Range began thinking that there may be more to the operations than he originally thought. He had to leave UNATCO and he had to find the truth. Sylvester shut down his operations at UNATCO. He believed that nobody would find his room, so left the computers on standby, in case he ever came back. Returning back out into the hall, O. Range believed he had forgotten something outside of the janitor’s closet. He decided not to check, thinking that if it was important, he would have known what he had forgotten. With long, confident strides, Sylvester O. Range proceeded out into a long maze of underground caves which would lead him far from UNATCO HQ. O. Range punched a button and the cave door closed. On the side facing the hallway, the door was disguised as fallen rock, blocking the path onward. O. Range was confident that he could not be followed, since the only way to open the door was from the side he was on. He continued down the long corridors of the cave, using his retinal augmentation to light the way. [/release] Did Sylvester O. Range really forget something? How will Gunther react to the loss of the machine? Find out, in Chapter III: Lost Love !

Although worth noting my graphics card is fucking up a lot as it is.
It may be the directx 10 renderer, methinks.
It may be the directx 10 renderer, methinks.
I'm running with the renderer fine (I think its on) but I had both on at the same time so it could be.
How can both be on at once? [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] There is a hotfix released recently so I'll see if that fixes it. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] no luck [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] installing the custom launcher fixed it. I figured it was not required.
Can't wait for the release, been waiting ages :D
What pre-order bonuses do we get if we pre-order through steam?
None really, besides a copy of Deus Ex and some "Behind the Scenes" stuff for the game, but that is only for the Augmented Edition.
I got it through steam but mainly because I don't want to have to wait for it to come through the mail and because I love giving money to valve. I wish it came with a pre-order bonus or at least a tf2 hat. Well I save 5$ I guess.
at least a tf2 hat.
Meanwhile at Valve Robin: Hey guys, how can we ruin the visual style of TF2 even more? Some guy: There's this game in the future, 2027, with a Renaissance style and robotic arms and it's all about stealth. Let's add a skin for the Engie's arm! Or better, let's give all these things to Soldier! :downs: PS-As fot the pre-order bonus, you get a Deus Ex GOTY and iirc a digital artbook, soundtrack and stuff like that.
Meanwhile at Valve Robin: HEY GUYS LET'S GIVE THE DEMOMAN EVEN MORE STUPIDLY OVERPOWERED WEAPONS! Everyone else: YEEEEAAAH
[sp]After I fought Barrett, I get stuck outside the factory, since Malik won't ask me if I want to leave when I get to the LZ.[/sp]
