I just pre ordered this, with 6 days to go.
Region-locking plan UPDATE We’re aware of some discussion regarding the planned region-locking of boxed PC versions of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and after careful review we have decided not to implement this in the UK/Europe. Please note, this plan only related to PC boxed games, and not digital or console editions. http://forums.eidosgames.com/showpost.php?p=1651200&postcount=778 edit: And he later added: "Yes this is for anywhere in europe." http://forums.eidosgames.com/showpost.php?p=1651213&postcount=787 edit #2: And even later: "Oh and yes the pc versions from UK will work in US and vice versa" http://forums.eidosgames.com/showpost.php?p=1651268&postcount=824
Pc dying, no money for a new one, no money for Deus Ex. I never asked for this [sp]I'm being dramatic, they can't stop the future, neither can my PC, it may be suffering a slow and painful death, but it isn't the end of the world.... but I can see it from here.[/sp]
I hope that steam EU users will be able to play human revolution in 23nd august. I got the game gifted to me from USA anyway. I got the standard edition for 0 euros, does the steam standard edition also have the mission packs ?
I bet we wont be able to... :(
Does DXHR use steamworks?
Does DXHR use steamworks?
yes.
Does DXHR use steamworks?
Correct, you have to tie the game to a Steam account even if you buy retail PC.
Silly question, but you need to activate it on steam i guess, so if you loose the disc you can just download it back again like any other steam game?

Buying retail basically gives you a box and stuff and saves bandwidth.
Yay, I bought the augmented edition for my birthday (which is today :D)
Buying retail basically gives you a box and stuff and saves bandwidth.
I hate that, download a digital game and it can take up to hours just to finish.
Does the steam augmented edition have that pack with it? [editline]18th August 2011[/editline] That's how I feel with all console games, do you play shooters on consoles normally?
Yes I do, I play Halo and COD rather often and the controls don't feel as sluggish as DXHR. Something is way off, and the interface can't be helped, interface seems designed for PC in mind. I think it's an acceleration issue.

I love Eidos.
Does anybody know the dimensions of the Augmented Edition?
Does anybody know the dimensions of the Augmented Edition?
Uh, do you mean that like 8x11 or what?
Does anybody know the dimensions of the Augmented Edition?
what?
The size of the box, I assume.
Does anybody know the dimensions of the Augmented Edition?
why do you need the size of the box?
why do you need the size of the box?
So that he can know if it will fit through his letterbox, I assume.
So that he can know if it will fit through his letterbox, I assume.
Pretty much.
Squeenix probably required there to be "real" boss fights or something.
Which led to
This just in: at the end of DXHR you kill God.
Which led to me making this:
I hate that, download a digital game and it can take up to hours just to finish.
About one hour to download a 7GB game for me, it would take an hour and a half to get it from a store if the traffic worked perfectly I still prefer retail though
About one hour to download a 7GB game for me, it would take an hour and a half to get it from a store if the traffic worked perfectly I still prefer retail though
I envy you. My regular download speed is around 300 kb a second.
When it comes out I'm gonna wake up early and set it to download before I head off to school so it'll be waiting for me as soon as I get home.
I'm getting a disk, so the install should be fairly quick.
I'm getting a disk, so the install should be fairly quick.
Same. I can never put up with steam taking forever to download shit for me.
