I actually just started playing Thief Gold for the first time yesterday. I'm enjoying it so far, but the levels feel a bit...empty, especially with the HD and Enhancement mods. I understand that it's just because it's an older game, but it can feel weird sneaking through what's supposed to be a barracks or something that's full of cots, crates, and nothing else. One thing I wish they'd kept from the earlier games for 4 is him keeping his damn hands down; I don't know why he needs to sneak around with his hands up constantly. It bugged me in Dishonored too, but at least you could put your weapons away.

I really don't get some of the overwhelming hate for this game. I think it's pretty good. Not spectacular, but I think certainly it is good enough to warrant a purchase. Eidos Montreal has done a good job.
