This game is great. Co-op is fucked. It's laggy and broken, they left in developer commands as standard button layout. There is Xbox icons still in the game for the door breaking, you can open doors that no one can go through neither zombies or humans, you can see through walls. Game crashes constantly for me and two others, and going into steam overlay fucks it up by making the cursor appear over the main game while you are playing.
I can see how it'd be fun... if I was able to play it without running into glitches everytime I press a button.

And then you do that and then the icon for him disappears, so you go back manually and then [sp]NOTHING HAPPENS[/sp]
I don't know "Y" they would leave such a gamebreaking feature in the game.
Hopefully most of these bugs will be ironed out by the time its released over here.

I live in Europe too so the release day is here 9th of september, of course I'd like to play tomorrow with US. here are steps how to do it (this worked with Deux Ex and other games too, so it should work with this too).

[B]2.[/B] Get yourself US vpn.
[B]2.A[/B] I will be using [url]http://www.freeusvpn.com/[/url] because it is free, but I am not sure if its fully reliable. I have tried it few times with nothing to worry about, but I am not responsible of the problems you might encourage.
[B]2.B[/B] Here is another free one which my friend has used a lot but I don't have personal history with it [url]http://usaip.eu/en/free_vpn.php[/url] . Download: [url]http://usaip.eu/en/USAIP.pbk[/url] and run it, select "[URL="http://aijaa.com/v.php?i=004548555968.jpg"]USAIP PPTP California[/URL]". Account/password: demo
[B]3.[/B] you should now be connected to internet via that VPN. Your firewall might ask you about the network. Select whatever you find most suitable.
[B]4.[/B] Start steam and Launch Dead Island. Let it install all the necessary files etc.
[B]5.[/B] Close the game and close Steam
[B]6.[/B] Turn off the VPN connection.
[B]7.[/B] Go to the "Steam\steamapps\common\Dead Island" -folder
[B]8.[/B] Create a text file in the Dead Island directory called "steam_appid.txt" and put 91319 inside it. Save the file.
[B]9.[/B] Start steam and laucnh your game from Dead Island directory
So this won't work yet but it will when they release the game in the US. So this tutorial is suitable for non-US players who want to play the game earlier. I will be trying this in 15 hours when DI is released. I will post it here if I got it working.

i think this game is perfect in everyway, its just too funny how they left 'Y" and 'scroll lock' in there. Im having a blast. Ill play seriously when they patch it, but for now, its too much fun.

Fucking hell Co-op is pissing me off. It just barely worked for my friends and then I fell through the floor cuz of that fucking Y command, then my controls broke and I crashed. Now nobody can join each other. I was so excited to play this co op but it's insulting to PC gamers how fucked up this is.

I'm really really pleased with the game. i can ignore bugs as long as there is promise to fix them, but all that aside, it's really seeming like it's going to be a fun game. I play more tomorrow.
People seem to be having a lot of problems but I just ran the game and played it for a while fine. A lot of fun and I'm excited to pick it back up tomorrow.
