Chances are, you'll only be banned if you used it to buy games to bypass the whole region pricing thing.
How long will the story last?
-snip-
Well fuck my shit.
Bought from intkeys. Just gotta wait now.
God damn, the game was running perfectly until I saved Sinimoi, then all of a sudden it's stuttering worse than a retarded 3rd grader.
I run Deus Ex: HR at max with my setup, and this is stuttering only after a certain point? Really?

Jesus Christ. How did they manage to cock it up this bad?

how'd they fucking release the dev version i'll never know
Wow. Apparently I'm stuttering so much because Dead Island keeps setting itself to BELOW NORMAL priority, and when I change it to normal, or anything else, then tab back into the game, it's fine for 5 seconds and then goes back down to below normal priority. FUCK
Zombie faces are a LITTLE bit strange.

BPP(24)
FSAA(0)
TexBPP(32)
TextureQuality("VeryLow")
Filtering("Bilinear")
Shadows("Low")
ShadowMapSize(512)
SpotShadowMapSize(1024)
Lightmaps()
GammaFloat(1.15)
MaxRefresh(60)
MaterialQuality(0)
FXQuality(0)
FXFadeLevel(0)
WaterQuality(0)
GrassQuality(0)
EnvQuality("Static")
ShaderPath(3)
DisplayDeviceType(0,0.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.000000)
This file is in the Steam Dead Island location such as: "steam/steamapps/common/dead island/DI/Out/Settings/Video.scr", open that file with a notepad.
Also set your CPU priority to high for this game, enjoy! I get 17 fps but I'm used to shit FPS. :P

Oh wow, what the fuck? I see that! That's probably why my FPS drops randomly and freezes up!
Use this tutorial if you are having any trouble at all with VPN. It still uses the USA-IP service, but through the OpenVPN client (that actually works!).
ie it's not the same tutorial everyone else keeps linking

huh wow
guess the game turned out to be pretty shit
you sound surprised
you sound surprised
Well not really. Just a little maybe. I'll just wait for some reviews of the actual release version before buying this or anything. But at this moment, it looks like I will not have to spend my money on this.

Just want to leave this here. Tunneling is against the steam tos, and VPN is doing this. So yeah, you can pretty much risk your steam account for using vpn.
Game runs like crap. Every 30~90 seconds it will freeze for 2-5 seconds, and now it crashed my steam.
GTX 570, phenom II x4 955 @ 3.5ghz, 8GB DDR3 ram. My PC isn't the issue.
Bah I have enough money to buy 2 copies of the Xbox version but not enough for 2 copies of the PS3 version. Amazon why wont you make them both the same price :(.
Well, I haven't played yet.
Hoping for the patch like everyone else though.
With all these bugs, im not so bothered about having to wait until Friday for the UK/EU release, hopefully they'll have fixed a lot by then.
From what I've seen the game looks flawed but a lot of fun, and Im a sucker for zombies and free roam so I know I'll end up loving it. Multiplayer looks like it could be a blast if they get it working.
Sure the game is fun, but with the horrible animations and being bugged to all hell, I'm glad I didn't buy this game and I feel bad for my sisters 50 dollars.

It's because theres a glitch with the CPU priority. I get dropped every FPS too where it freezes for 5 seconds.

Wow, nice job...

If it's the dev version we have (which it seems proven so) then I see no reason to expect bugs which could be completely gone in the proper version.
Depending on how they made the game the priority could be locked on low if the devs were testing while running more important programs such as their 3D modelling software or Photoshop, which obviously needs more priority.
This game will release in Russia on 9th. I am unsure about buying it, since you say that it's horribly bugged and in fact a dev version. Though I liked Borderlands and some said that they're similar.
[editline]6th September 2011[/editline]
Should I get it some time after the release? It'll be ridiculously cheap in our country, below 20 bucks.

They'll send out a patch today that will fix shit. By the time the game releases in Europe, everything will be fixed.
Let's hope that the xbox360 version runs better, my package comes in a hour and I still have to work for 3 more hours.. unbearable.
Someone there who got this on the xbox360 and yet haves no coop partner? I'll be glad to play from start on with someone, just to share happyness.

Rate me dumb because I think 50 dollars is a waste of money for an unfinished game :)

That's why i used the other program, I am still using it to log on to my account and then drop into offline mode, turning off the VPN when steam loads.

Based on 12 ratings.
Probably because of glitches and shit just wait for a patch and see what people say.
Preferably wait for the 9th when the rest of the world gets it.

god, are you daft or what
read a couple of comments above yours, there will be a patch that ought to fix most, if not all of the bugs and hitches and whatnot.
