controls feel like jelly: not smooth at all, id like to see the control feeling of l4d in this game, whould be awesome
I think the controls are fitting. They're much slower to handle and it requires you to put more time in what you do. Valve games with super liquid movement sometimes makes me rush through levels without appreciating the design.
Just had another 3 hour session. [sp]I'm up to the laboratory, which is 75% of the plot done[/sp] Game is actually really fucking fun. I really wish the popping/static sound would stop, and I tried to edit the settings myself and none of it worked, so I'm hoping a future patch fixes this. I'm so damn tired, but totally worth it.

Sam B is pretty boss, but I don't know how he ever managed to live in a world where he had to do more than smash zombie heads because he seems utterly incapable of precise movement. He is like a boat, or a big gorilla. Or a big gorilla boat. I guess I'm pretty much used to it now, it's just a peeve of mine when they have such a simplified options menu that they leave out things which I usually expect. Had to start over because of the patch, but I'm not too choked up about it. Sam B is way more fun than Emily Wong, or whatever the blade-chick's name is. He's like a train, and blunt weapons are way easier to find that bladed weapons. I can beat the shit out of zombies with pretty much any old thing I find laying around and know that it will still be effective. And when it breaks, I can just toss it aside and pick up something else. I'm guessing I'm not the only person who lost their preorder stuff? I'd heard it was only affecting people who bought the game through Greenman gaming or something, but my Steam version seems to have lost its preorder content too. I'm sure they'll fix it sooner or later, so I guess it's not really a big deal.
sam b for life dude. he's the only one worth playing as. he's a walking tank that does godly with every weapon no matter what [editline]7th September 2011[/editline] although i did clear out the hotel with my own two fists and nothing else. taking on thugs is amazing with your fists and your fists alone i love when you finally get to the hotel it tells you "hit space and the direction you want to move in to dodge" wtf why couldn't you tell me that at the BEGINNING OF THE GAME
This game is surprisingly fun. I don't think i would get into it as much if i hadn't been playing co-op with my brother this whole time.
So is it bad if I'm continuing after the game reset? I'm level 13 and doing the first side missions again. Will shit get too hard and should I restart? Or should I just keep going?
i love when you finally get to the hotel it tells you "hit space and the direction you want to move in to dodge" wtf why couldn't you tell me that at the BEGINNING OF THE GAME
The single biggest thing that pissed me off, right there. You shouldn't be learning new, important survival skills like that several hours into the game.
My favorite way to make money in this game is to farm off the cash register at the water sports kiosk that guy in the car shows you.
We know retail didn't get as much bugs.
Sarcasm/a joke. Hence the two lols and question mark. I'm astounded!
Well I've definitely been having a blast with this game. Other than mediocre fps ( because of my outdated rig ) and some boring facial animations, this game seems pretty damn great all around. So far I'm not really seeing anything bad about the storyline, but then again I haven't really done any quests that reveal strong plot points, mostly just running errands and saving people. Definitely worth the fiddy dolla.
Cool. Mine is tommorow. (the 7th, its still the 6th today)
Oh hey we have the same birthday. Happy Birthday. :v: We should do a birthday celebration, add me on steam. On another note, I deal upwards of 1000 damage on crits by throwing weapons.
How well will I be able to run this at 1920x1080? CPU: Intel Core i5 750 2,66 GHz GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 5850 XT RAM: 4GB Crucial DDR3 1066MHz

The game works perfectly in singleplayer for me now! It's amazing. Just hit level 10. I hope they don't corrupt my save with an update though. Also the DLC isn't working for me either.
My saves keep disappearing, woo.
I also got the revolver from the spanish dude, yet to find ammo though. It is my precious.
If i was to delete my local content, i would now download the finished version amirite? Or do i just need to let it update?
How long has the game been released in Australia? I just looked on the game's page and instead of a pre-load button there was a play button.

Just ordered the Special Edition, the one with the Ripper and the Bloodbath DLC. Was gonna order by friend a copy from Amazon as I have a £20 gift certificate and whats left in my bank, but im 25p short. Now i'm gonna have to wait till the price drops. :(
Does anyone have some kind of headache or dizziness while playing this game? I think it's from FOV and it happened the same while playing Metro 2033. I just can't play it.
I just went into the city, holy crap is it fucking scary. I can't help but jump whenever I hear a growl and see 8+ zombies shuffling into my direction. Also my flashlight has the ability to bring back youth I AM BLACK JESUS
Is it true there's a way for us UK'ers to buy & play it now without having to give a yank the cash?
Could anyone be kind enough to give me a 25p/50cents gift certificate on Amazon?
what are the tips for the graphics settings? thx in adv
So the "final" version was released? And it still has a shitload of bugs? How come that the game doesnt look like this?
Is the Xbox version fucked too?
As far as I know the Press Version was suposed to be like completely without the flaws and stuff, really wierd.
Is the Xbox version fucked too?
I played it for 7 hours yesterday and I can tell you one thing, "You'll be glad to have gotten it for the box" I was skeptical at first but it turned out to work really really well, there is no game breaking glitches or anything, I encountered minimalistic bugs after hours of gameplay.. like 2-3. In short, this game is really damn enjoyable on the xbox, it works nice and incredibly quick on the load times (install the disc on your hard drive, makes it so much faster) to join someone in coop it literally takes 2-4 seconds (which amazed me) and the controls are satisfying fluid. I love this game so much that I only had 4 hours of sleep till my 8 hour work. Also later on this game gets incredibly fast harder, at the first 4 hours I did not really have that "big challenge" but suddenly when all zombie types mix up you need to lay down tactics and keep your expensive to repair weapons in the pocket for weak zombies.
Is intkeys a reliable site? I'm about to buy 3 dead island keys for me and my friends.
