I managed to pick up a Revolver and save it until I got to Level 10.

You transfered from his computer to yours right? It seems that something in the game files reacts to the account it is originally installed on and only allows updates on said account.

I'm waiting on the multiplayer issues to be sorted out with this game.. shame it's had such a rocky release, I mean there's no really good publicity for it in light of the recent code finding and bugged PC version.

Now, no matter what I do, I can't get it to run on my account, end of story. I'm going to reinstall steam to a new folder and copy only my game files over, and I'll see what happens. Meanwhile, Steam Support has their thumbs up their asses so I'm flying solo here.
Oh great now it's released and I'm still stuck with a fucked GMG key.
Bare fists just may be the best "weapon" in the game. They can break bones, which means you just have to kick zombies over and go to town.
Also, HUGE PROTIP: Once you're broken a Thug's arms, KEEP HITTING ITS BODY. You'll get additional bone breaks for massive XP, way more than you'd get for just aiming for the head and killing it quick.
Typical 10 minutes in Hanoi City:
Walk around for 5 seconds
See one infected zombie
See ten more of them run around the corner
Run like hell
Die
Respawn
Repeat previous steps
