SEKCobra just got VAC banned from Dead Island for cheating :D Serves you right fucker! :P

Ok so I was told VAC disables itself when one or less clients are connected. Sounds good. If not, I jsut realised that all VAC Servers have a message on connect informing you, this game doesn't. neither does it tell you that it starts in Coop by default, so I got some leverage I guess :v:

I pre-loaded the game about one day ago. Now when it is released, I can't use my keyboard at all. I can't use it in the menu or in-game. I can just look around with mouse and swing with my fists. I can't even use my Logitech ChillStream controller. I've checked the Avast sandbox and disabling it didn't work. Any new ideas? I'm going to issue refund soon because I'm not going to pay 50€ for game that I can't even play.

so did anyone else just download a patch at 911.8kB and now the game crashes on startup?

I role play when I play Sam B. For an example I scream "Oh hell naw!" when a zombie creeps up on me. I get so immersed in the world that I think I am Sam B yo.

so i've played five hours and took a 10-15 min break only to come back and now it says deadisland has stopped working

So I am sorry to say, you are fucked mate.

Just to clarify, editing the configuration file called 'video.scr' isn't detected as a cheat, right? Probably dumb question.

And he brings out the dumb ratings lol But seriously you are fucked, knowing the team means nothing, it is a contractual agreement. It would bring on a shitstorm if they do it, and I know many press reviewers that HAVE been permabanned, so it is not an excuse.

Game won't start up for me, any tips? No errors or anything. Process just kills itself. Tried restarting, turning off antivirus.

So now that coop is working, does anyone want to start a group?

Verified cache, (re)-installed dx9, still not launching. This game so far just has been problems after problems.

Can't wait to play this on my desktop, because running it at 640x480 with the config file altered to make it run well isn't that great.

Has anyone else had the problem where it wont start? When I click play the Dead Island logo flashes for about half of a second, then it disappears and it quits the game. Anyone knows the fix?

But on the other side, if you manage to get a cool sharp weapon, you will be unstoppable. Aka jumping attacks that deal 99% more damage, attacks from behind that blow them all in pieces, stomping, 30% bleeding chance on hit, super crits... And the gun nut girl is a bitch - she hit the drunk guy in the intro cutscene with her knee.
