Any idea how to turn off in game auto voice chat?? I tried the method of making my default sound device different but it didn't seem to work. Using the in game chat for now but would really prefer skype. Unrelated note however, having a blast on this game in co-op. Really glad I spent the money on it.
crashes on startup, what a fucking great game!
How do I set this to run in a window? changing fullscreen to no and applying doesn't do anything, also the music crackles like hell so I had to turn it off...
My game is broke now too D: It lets me load my game but crashes before it finishes.
when is this shit getting patched? I didn't buy this just to not be able to run it in anyway, I tried to disable SLI, disable multiple monitors, unplug them etc... nothing fucking works.
previous patch broke the game apparently! HURRAY!

I was playing like half hour ago and now its broke :saddowns:
Is there any way to reset skill points? Found nothing on Google, just want to make sure.
Nice to see they broke it in time for the EU release.
Well this sounds awesome! http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/09/09/dead-island-dlc-to-add-co-op-survival-mode/
Oh dear god! No way to turn off the ingame-voicechat! No way to change audio, causing it to crackle and shizzle on my 7.1 USB-headset (can't switch it to stereo, shitty drivers and no updates to it)! Really pissed off at this. Can't play with my friends because we can hear the other players echo, and OURSELVES echo. It apparently causes several voicechat-programs like Mumble to bug out and echo your voice back to you. Nice job.

yeah well nice one faggot developer, why don't you just give me a piece of shit that can't even launch and the only fix is "run as local user and it works fine" which doesn't make any sense to me.

I found a fix for those who crash on the latest patch. Go to Steam\steamapps\common\dead island\DI\Data\ find a file called game.ini, change Locale("En") to Locale("en")
My game still works fine, but i had to change my shadows back to default resolution, or the game would crash after load.
Can't you just use the ingame voice chat only for now?
Yeah, we are using it. It just sucks. It's pretty quiet (compared to Mumble which was configured to be perfect for me) and there are absolutely no options for it. And I'd like to add that I'm not far from deaf in real life so I can't hear normal talk etc. due to the volume.

I would've thought they had that.

Really don't know why alot of the games come out like this if they're also console based games, why can't they see that nobody likes this feature. Especially in co-op games. Would add even more dread to playing with random people and not friends. Not that I ever would but still. Shame there's not a simple config tweak for it. Some people mentioned downloading some software driver for the audio but fuck that shit. Someone else also said about going to steam overlay settings and changing your audio device to something else and then change your skype/mumble to another audio device that you want to use manually but that didn't seem to work for me. I might have a root around the directory and see if there's anything in the config about turning it off. If not then I guess we'll have to wait for a mute button to be patched in :\
