dude. that's what makes the game worth the price tag. it doesn't get boring either.
Oh, I'm not complaining. I put in almost 20 hours; that should say something. Granted, while there are some things that irritate me, I'm having an awesome time, and I'm sure it'd be even better in co-op.
Alright is this game worth it? Ned gameplay summary, approx. length, and general tone to be explained
haha yeah. that food mission got me. i play as sam b so he's like literally the only one with common sense (which is hilarious) because logan and that one black bitch that nobody likes playing as because she's worthless are straight up like "yeah let's leave those fuckers EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF" and then sam b pretty much raps his sense in to them sam b is the best.. except he has lazy eyes or something and looks like a retard the whole time
Alright is this game worth it? Ned gameplay summary, approx. length, and general tone to be explained
Go read a review.
I also hated the dude main characters, they were douchebags. It's quite a disconnect when you're romping around helping everyone in sight and then a cutscene pops up and the guy you're playing as acts like a total prick.
this could easily have improved if they had added some more dialogue outside cutscenes, like in l4d
& yeah p much all of this ALTHOUGH thugs were really well balanced i think. they hit hard with haymakers BUT they are easy to take down. the biggest thing about fighting them is to time yourself perfectly. also leaping back from their attacks saves yourself from getting demolished in a few hits. otherwise they're okay and, hell, most of the time they're avoidable because they don't really hunt you down at all
Yeah they were, just sayin their reach is longer than it looks. Also maybe I'm impatient but when you're knocked on your ass your character takes an eternity to get back up. It's not really a problem tho because the devs made it so zombies don't gang rape you when your knocked down. Also funny story, I was in the prison and I saw a zombie right next to the railing so I jump kicked at him with the intent of knocking him over. Well, I landed the kick then proceeded to continue onward over the railing and fall to my doom. I was not happy.
Alright is this game worth it? Ned gameplay summary, approx. length, and general tone to be explained
alright so here's the deal. wake up after a hard night of partying. everything's quiet. power's out. it's morning. you're at like the top story of a 30 story tall five star hotel. walk down a flight of stairs and there's infected EVERYWHERE. you have no idea what's going on so what the hell do you do? run. that sets the mood right there. that is until you get a weapon and start bashing heads in, and then suddenly the game turns from kind of shockingly spooky to all of a sudden the funnest fucking game you will ever play. it's like dark messiah when you play with analog combat (controller) except it's fighting zombies and it's AMAZING how long will it take you to beat the game? i don't like being patient when it comes to playing games and yet i am only 58% and i have 20-something hours logged already. summary? you're on an island. island gets infected. help some survivors who only seem to have the right mindset despite what all of the others say. profit.
yeah ive played almost 18 hours and im only like 30% into the story
Did a little bit of a speed run on Purna... Got from the start (after prologue) and to the part where you [sp]armor the bank truck[/sp] in about 30 minutes. Its pretty fun running around bashing in zombies heads while rushing. Also leveled Sam B to 22... Purna's level 8.... And my main, Logan, is now level 36. Clocked 29 hours into the game so far.
this could easily have improved if they had added some more dialogue outside cutscenes, like in l4d
Or they made different cutscenes for SP and MP. That way 3 characters I've never seen before materialize out of fucking nowhere and yet everyone in the game acts like they've been there the entire time.
Considering doing a fist only run once I beat the game as Logan The Throw Wizard.
So what the hell happened to the drunk in the intro
The drunk is whatever character you pick. I don't know how that works out, but... It does.
I'm playing this with my ps3 controller. Analog mode is sex. But for some reason I can't enter rage mode.
so i updated my drivers and flashlight still does not work. playing in the sewers is pretty much impossible

People got still got crashing problems? My friend as I stated several pages ago, have had sometimes crash on start up, and crashes when he eventually join me. The locale thing didn't help. Anyone?
this is the zombie game ive been waiting for. A melee heavy game that allows for some gun action but overall makes it challenging. The level design is phenomenal including all of the environments i wanted to see in zombie games from open jungle to city to confined areas. Also the coop is exactly what i wanted from dead rising, where we get to explore together chopping up zombies. The rpg elements are ok in my book, nothing as super in depth as fallout but enough to make you want to level up and try new abilities/tactics. The zombie apocalypse i always wanted to happen, without the troubles of surviving (sleep, water, etc), just pure killing fun.
Am I seriously the only one who plays as Xian Mei? Like, I see everyone talking about Purna and Logan and a lot of people talking about Sam B, but no one mentions Xian Mei.
I mainly play on Logan, but I might as well have gone Xian because I mainly use blades. Don't even bother throwing anymore because I cbf to go pick it up when the area is packed with zombies
Sam B never blinks, fact.
Got off work at 2pm, got Dead Island, my friend also got it so we started playing, we just got off an hour ago at 1am. Needless to say, awesome game.
I didn't get why there was so much hate for the sewers. I just got to it. I have completely changed my opinion. I mean my god, this isn't the kind of game you have L4D esque enclosed spaces man.
See, I could understand playing as Sam B or Logan early on because there are a shitload of blunt weapons and almost no sharp weapons except for a few diving knives. But by the time you are halfway through the city, you are seeing a lot more sharp weapons and even the occasional machete. But the moment you hit the jungle, its just all blades. And they do a shitload of damage. Besides, modifying the Zed's Demise with a Short-Circuit is incredibly fun. Ohh, and Purna is only good for the team boosts and her fury mode. Guns are only really useful against humans since they take extra damage from headshots and they are the only ones who carry ammo. And early on, guns are basically nonexistent. And it is so cramped, and packed full of Infected and Suiciders. Also, Rams are incredibly easy to kill. Just get them to charge you, jump to the side right before they hit you, then just smash the shit out of their back. You can walk out of most fights with a Ram unscathed. And they don't have that much health either.
My friend and I ran into Boris Grishenko, so I took a picture with both of them. I don't think Sam B. was happy about it
Sam B always looks so pissed off. He is literally never happy. Actually, right there, he looks constipated.

Then they are just kinda silly chasing you around with no arms and trying to bite you. Ohh, and if you have a two-handed axe, you can just devastate them. Just run in and start beating the shit out of them. They hit so hard that each hit is likely to stun them, giving the next attack plenty of time to hit. And at the same time, you quickly chop off both limbs. I took one down with a one swing once. I hit it right in the head with a fire axe, criticaled, and took off every part of it. The head went flying, his legs somehow snapped off, and his arms were taken off at the shoulders.
Wait they kept mentioning the Police Station. What happened there? Or are they just referring to that broadcast?
