I got to the banoi butcher, and shot him twice with the purple shotgun and his head blew off.
Is this supposed to be that easy?

Yes.
Gah there are so many games that I want, and I probably won't have a job til maybe november.
I can't stop reading the spoilers and watching playthroughs.
How many sidequests are there? I remember reading there is 200+, is it true?
There's a lot. I'm 30 hours in and only just got to act 3 as I've been doing all the sidequests and exploring. I recently got the "Busy, busy, busy" achievment which unlocks when you do 75 quests in a row.
Me again, I was wondering if this isn't just another generic zombie game? I would hate to spend $50, beat it once and never touch it again because it's just another zombie game.

Sure feels good to be one of the 0.1% for this achievement. :v:
So anyone bought it off Ultimatum? http://www.ultimatumgamekeys.com/en/game/buy-cheap-dead-island-vpn-steam-cd-key
I want to because of the price but this Russian vpn stuff seems shady

Oh hey, it's you! Yeah hey, welcome! Just sit over there and someone will probably answer you. Nice to see you dude.

it's essentially the same
I got two keys from ultimatum. Both are working fine. They sent them within 30 minutes which was great.

Isn't this one impossible to get? I mean if you shut it down after the first start up isn't it lost forever? Seems kinda gay :v:
I was just mentioning that I am playing Logan.
But I do a fair share of melee attacks and I always keep my weapons above 50% in durability.
All I do is sell the most valuable weapons I find when exploring while keeping important weapons in my equip slots.
Isn't this one impossible to get? I mean if you shut it down after the first start up isn't it lost forever? I knew Sam would be a good choice. Nothing but Blunt objects.

The fact that it's a coop RPG pretty much separates it from other zombie games.

Even if you only played it once you'd have somewhere between 20-30 hours of gameplay. That's value for money in my book.
Thanks for the input guys, buying now.
Is there a way to get guns to not auto-reload when they are empty?

sam is the best character

Just started new game plus, and have been messing with the fov.
EDIT:
Even if you only played it once you'd have somewhere between 20-30 hours of gameplay. That's value for money in my book.
Yeah, took me around 20 hours to beat the game by myself. It's considerably more value then most games, when you consider you'll going to replay it a few more times with friends at least.
How is the new game +? Is there anything significantly different?
How is the new game +? Is there anything significantly different?
No, you just keep your items and levels and everything.
I'm just gonna stick to ram + curb stomp with Sam. Jesus fuck it costs so much to repair weapons in Act 2-3ish.
Well if you're getting the green and purple and whatever weapons anyways.
So, I just finished the game and I didn't look at any spoilers so far so here is what I think happened: [sp]Kevin is the hacker/terrorist Charon, and he knows that Yerema is carrying the virus or whatever, and he's bringing them mainland because of this. [/sp] Anyone else got this theory out of the ending cutscene?
Hey, can someone link me to the weapons mod that a few people have been talking about?
I was hoping I'd be able to play tonight, but my download's only at 50% from sitting for 5 hours.
Guess I'll be getting up early to play the first hour or so.

Come to my University, we have 24Mbz/s download speeds :v:
If anyone is interested: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/ZNgWX/dead-island
Question, is there any way to give blueprints, or an alternative way to find them?
I don't have the Blueprints for the Deo-Bomb. I never got them because the person I play with completed the quest on their character before I joined them. However since this character shares progress from theirs, I cannot go back and do the quest.
