So what's better: Bladed Weapons or Blunt Weapons.
I say bladed, every single blunt weapon I've encountered was consistently weaker than blades, and the ones that weren't had attack speed and stamina penalties (like sledgehammers). There was a reason my end-game arsenal was nothing but short swords (and a katana) and firearms. Oh yeah and an Axe because it did almost 900 damage.
blades seem to do more damage but that doesn't exactly matter when they can still hit you
blunt weapons can knock them down and usually they're big enough to hit multiple targets, so then you can just pummel them on the ground
for fighting bosses and things with enough hp that it takes more than 2 hits to kill I prefer bladed weapons
To me the problem with blunt weapons is they all seem to be weaker than the blades I find, and the Infected have a chance to hit me regardless of what I'm using.

I love this game haha
I love this game haha
With my Sam B playthrough (first run with him) I'm still at chapter 4 which is about the part were you go into the hotel for the armor truck and Sam B is bashing in zombies heads at level 25.
Also remember to use broken weapons when fighting Thugs, you can farm more xp from one that way.
Plus the fact that zombies auto-level with you means fighting off normal zombies doesn't get any easier.
Thugs are too dangerous to try farming XP off of.
Try to do that and they knock you on your ass and take off 45% of your health..
Who do you voodoo bitch?
Oh and Zombie Auto-Leveling with you actually makes the game harder, as healing gradually becomes less effective while zombie attacks remain the same or even become stronger.

I don't know im level 24 and found a wrench that does near 1000 damage fully upgraded where as any bladed weapon lasts 5 hits then breaks

Never seen a Wrench over 400 damage personally, most were 2-300. Meanwhile most of my blades are 400-800. Hell even blunt reward weapons were around 3-500 damage while the Wakizashi I was rewarded or the Katana I found, were very damaging (the katana was my 800dmg weap).

If you're Sam B, that could explain it. I understand he doesn't simply specialise in Blunt Weapons, has a massive boost for them.
Blunt weapons are typically more durable right? I've been playing as Logan, got the full durability bonus for weapons, working on the one for modded weapons. Bladed weapons get dull fairly quickly, my maxed out machete usually only lasts me about long enough to do a quest and get back to turn in. So it gets the job done, but it costs like $2k or so for a decent repair.

Uh yeah, except they aren't dangerous if you are a master of Thuganomics like me.
*First, take out all the other mo-fo dead-heads in the area before attacking tha Thug. This makes your fight much easier to control.
*Second, know their attacks! You have 0.5 seconds to react to their attacks before you get flattened so watch yo-self and DODGE! With both arms they have a single swing, a three-hit combo and a counter when you hit them, yo biggest weapon is knowing which attack they are gonna use and react accordingly! Be a punk and not know their patterns and you're gonna end up with a mouth full of rotten flesh.
*Third, break those shoulders! Good openings are when it's finished it's attacks and when it tries dancing, a way to force this is a normal kick which makes 'em flail about 50% of the time. When this happens make sure you have a weapon with a lot of force (it's the number under the damage counter of the weapon). Smack 'em there and they are almost harmless!
*Fourth, start farmin! Like this tha Thug can't swing at ya, which drastically shortens it's reach. What's a few bites gonna do to you? Switch to a weapon that's weak and broken and drive the message across, you won't be killing this pussy anytime soon and you'll be makin XP like it's Christmas! Do this and you can see yourself leveling up minutes!
Now who do
YOU
Voodoo bitch?

Yo man, I know dis shit, dat make tha game more realistic. I don't want no candy ass zombies puckering up to me. I want ones that can rip me to shreds if I let 'em get too close.
Word.

Can you really farm Thugs for that much XP? I never tried it, might head back to the Resort (at the lab in the jungle now) to try it out...

I'm getting about 900-1100 per hit and that's more profitable than completing most quests around Chapter 4.
I have a sword that does 1000+ damage, its level 29 though. I'm a level 14.
Lets get the purposes of Blunts and Blades out of the way huh.
Blunts have less damage outputs yes, this is evident in their stats. But they make up for that in force, which is the main element in stopping the zombies from flatout swarming you. Bladed weapons deal damage but if you can't take 'em out in time they will get hits in, while Blunt ones keeps them under Mantrol.
Plus they are naturally more durable, with figures typically being double and even triple the values of Blades weapons, meaning they are more reliable when everything that you find on the streets just don't cut it anymore and you need upgraded shit to one-shot the tougher enemies.

Just go on a trade server and spam "TRADING UNUSUAL TF2 CIRCLE HARD TOP FOR DEAD ISLAND"
Is it bad that I never upgraded weapons?
I mean, I did it one time with a Wrench, and I didn't notice any differences at all, then 10 minutes later I found a better Wrench. From that moment on until I completed the game, I never bothered to upgrade anything.
Honestly, I wish Techland did some TF2 promo for Dead Island. I want Sam B's stage hat.
EDIT:
I'm dumb for wanting a TF2 promo? Fuck you guys too.
2 more bleach and i can make a deathstalker katana that when fully upgraded will do 800 + 300 damage with some poison added.
I've gotten by quite comfortably by just wrapping barbed wire around everything.
I have a love/hate relationship with this game. Killing zombies is very satisfying, but when I'm peacefully walking about minding my own business, and 6 Infected come rushing towards me from all sides out of no where, fuck this game. I shat my pants.
I really think they didn't check Act IV on SP, because the infected spawning behind the sheets every 15 seconds and rapeing you from behind are pretty much impossible to cope with for me, considering there are 5 more zombies and a thug in front.
Got this a while ago, but
