I find the gameplay fun and fresh with the nicely done melee aspects, i just find it appauling you guys think this acceptable standards for game story.

The story wasn't terrible enough to make me vomit in my mouth, but it wasn't the best in the world. I don't know why they are saying the voice acting was terrible, all the voices seemed to fit with the characters and people on the island (natives and the general population), but it didn't help that they would only say 2 lines and repeatedly say it whenever you walked by.
Honestly if i had to listen to just the characters talking on my own playthrough all the time if i ever picked this up, id probably go insane. So thank god for watching lets plays with other people talking over it, i just really dont like the voice acting at all or the writing for that matter, but as long as the game is fun thats all that i should worry about.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good story, but I didn't really come into this game expecting Lord of The Rings.
I guess it's the same way people love Saints Row, they want the fun gameplay rather than some touching story.
I still think we should expect more from games, it's no excuse.

Hey guy, don't get your panties tied around your nutsack. It's just that if you expect to get a triple A title these days all you are going to get is a giant serving of disappoint. If this game was a part of a well-known series with top notch story and voice acting, then your argument would be appropriate.
Personally the moment I found out it was going to be a First Person Zombie Slasher RPG Sandbox game back in 2007, I was fucking sold.

Didn't care much for the story stuff -it's like a b-movie cheapo zombie flick anyway, just skip to the kicking off heads part- but playing with three friends really made it a laugh

I agree with you, but this isn't one of those bad/good stories.
This is just bad writing in my opinion, the atmosphere only comes from the sound and mapping.
Everytime i meet someone in the game i just want it over with
they either have a bad voice actor or they ain't believeable in any way.

I'd probably rate the game about an 8 to an 8.5. It was the most fun I've had in awhile and few games can keep my interest for over 20 hours.
