"DEY MASAKURENG MEE!"
Does anyone want to play? We need 1 more. It's Me, Mr. Someguy, and a friend. We'll join your game if you're still in act 2 or we'll start a game around act 2 and play it out to the end. Any level/character works since we should be close enough.
We'll be using Skype for voice chat and we have cool people. Also a female.
Also me.
I'm cool right?
Since nobody likes the ending, I ended up creating an alternate ending alternate ending that I think would have been better:
[sp]Colonel White contacts you on the speaker system and tells you that the Infected breached his safehouse, and in the chaos his beloved wife was killed in the crossfire by a BIDF Soldier. He orders you to meet him on the rooftop helicopter pad for extraction, and gives you the shortest route without understanding it's dangers. Meanwhile Titus realises you've betrayed him, and decides the best thing they can do now is kill you and try to escape by themselves. The Prisoners acquire the weapons themselves and head for the roof. A group of Prisoners ambushes you in a hallway to slow you down. After killing them, you move to the roof where there's a firefight raging between the Convicts and the Soldiers. Titus is seen leading the battle on one end, with Colonel White leading his men from the helipad. The noise of the battle attracts a swarm of Infected (including all types) that attack the rooftops. In the end, all the Zombies are dead, but the slaughter has also killed all the Prisoners and Soldiers. Titus himself unfortunately has become infected from a bite sustained during the battle. It is then that you have to fight the Infected Titus. Finally after killing Titus, Colonel White gives the all-clear and the doors to the helipad are opened, allowing you to escape on the Helicopter.[/sp]
The End.
How's that?
Still pretty cliche, I think the [sp]double cross by White[/sp] was obvious when you first met/contacted him. Also [sp]How titus and the prisoners died was kinda stupid and sounds as though it was made up on the spot to quickly close that plot hole. Either that or Kevin/(Charon) made it up so they don't question him[/sp] Also, having 2 elements fighting you at once PLUS a boss is kinda hard, don't you think? Especially having infected coming at you, PLUS GUNS, PLUS RAMS, PLUS AHARHAHAGHDH oh god that would be horrible
FSAA stands for Fullscreen Antialiasing, you running fullscreen?
Also, you modified the bottom part right, not the top ones with the ! prefix?
FSAA needs to be an even number, and it can't go higher than 8, so did you set it as an even number?
If it's set to 8, try 6, if it's set to 6, try 4, if it's set to 4, try 2, if NONE of those work then maybe your video card doesn't support it in Dead Island for whatever reason.
Those're all the possible things I can think of.
I managed to get it working by following this: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2109298 I guess changing the FSAA settings doesn't do anything, at least for most people.

The battle and the boss fight would have been seperate.
I just beat the game, game+ mode or whatever doesn't really seem to be worth it. If only they amped up the zombie spawns and made it dynamic.
wow this is gay, I poured 10 hours of gameplay into this and now my save got deleted for no reason
gotta start anew again

Well it was good practice! :smith:
Does anyone have any tricks to force Steam to recognise I've gotten some achievements?
I've earned 28 out of the 48 that's available and Steam only shows I've done 15 of them. That also includes two that you get for completing the first two chapters.
Now that I'm on my second playthrough I can safetly confirm that completing Act I again doesn't give me the achievement 'Hell in paradise'. I've only been playing on the latest patch which is 1.20 if it makes a difference, and the only time the game had really started to crap out on me was after reaching Nikolai's restraunt.
Beat it, nothing really special to the ending. Pretty generic at best.
What did you expect from a game with zombies on an island ?
A super evil zombie in a volcano base the size of Australia.
0/10 the island doesnt even have a volcano bad game
Can someone summarize what the [sp]mayor says when you first exit the sewers and get into the city hall?[/sp] My friend ran ahead of me and skipped the dialogue instantly so I have no idea what the fuck went on after that.

I would, but I tend to do my annoying Christopher Walken accent when playing this game.

Overall, he says they can't help anyone due to spare resources.
[sp]Karma got pissed about that and then murdered the shit out of everyone there afterwards[/sp]

What happens between then and getting all of the food? The cutscene was horribly glitched for me.
What happens between then and getting all of the food? The cutscene was horribly glitched for me.
Nothing, the cutscene played like it should it's just missing a skybox.
I like the game but I can't stand the permanent shaky cam effect. I can understand some headbobbing while sprinting or getting hit, but all the time ? When I am walking in real life or waving my arms, I'm not moving my head in all directions for no reason.
Anyone in the city who has yet to do "Uninvited Guests"? I beat it, and once you have you can't get back into the house which is where you place the Purple Skull, so I need a co-op partner who hasn't done it to play with so I can get back in.
It's the one where when you get near a certain house a woman (named Alicia I think) calls out for help from a window and you have to go in and clear it of zombies. It's southeast of the Church.
Sam B is better.

Anyone up for playing some co-op?
Fuck yeah, finally got a Feeble Pistol. I've been playing this game non-stop for days hoping for a gun, playing as Purma.
Then you finally do get a gun and realise they're terrible against anything other than Humans (and that's if you headshot), and just barely decent on Infected Runners.

Yeah, but thankfully shotguns and rifles (non-white) are not as weak as pistols, that alone makes up for it.
Ok, well don't spoil it too much for me, but is it better to spend skill points on the 'more looting ammo skill' or the 'more ammo you make' skill?
