I have no idea about what could cause it but it could be something that the folder you put the mods is protected so the game cannot enter it. Something like that happened to me in a game once. Like it was administrator protected even tough I didn't have any other accounts on my computer (So I was logged in as administrator). But like I said, no idea.
FUCK I JUST IMPULSE BOUGHT THIS AND NOW I'M MAD AT MYSELF
Someone please justify the £30 I just lost please?
Why are you mad? It's a great game, I enjoyed it all the way to the end. Of course there was some parts and bugs I disliked but that didn't mean I did not like the game. I am about to play trough it again in COOP with friends.
Damnit, I have 69/72 locations found in the game. I hope I didn't miss a location in [sp]the prison[/sp]
Anyone else who's just got this fancy a completely blind co-op play? I don't feel like playing alongside a 40 hour vet who knows the game inside and out...
Anyone else who's just got this fancy a completely blind co-op play? I don't feel like playing alongside a 40 hour vet who knows the game inside and out...
Why not... www.steamcommunity.com/id/vanillascout Won't be completely blind tho, but I haven't done any sub-quests at all, due to friends just rushing through the game. I ended up somewhere in the city, solo, having no idea how I even got there, and ragequit deleted my save file...
Why not... www.steamcommunity.com/id/vanillascout
28.1 hours. Sorry, i don't mean to be all elitist or anything, I just don't fancy playing with someone who's played the game loads and knows all about it. More fun to both not know anything. [editline]16th September 2011[/editline] Ah, hang on there's a few people in my friends list who have the game it sees, nvm.
damn coop crash....always crashing in coop.....fucking tiresome
I don't know if you guys know about this, but I found a pretty funny exploit in co-op that can be the ultimate trolling tool. When someone is aiming to put an item into the back of the truck, try to put an item in the same spot they are going to place it in before they do. If you time it right, both of you will do the animation but the guy will get stuck. He won't be able to attack. Then hop in the truck and start driving, the game will force them to automatically follow the truck and they can't do anything but start sprinting at 100 MPH :v
I really don't think the developers know a whole lot about PCs. Releasing the dev edition on steam and allowing you to use Y to noclip out of the map, and then having the near exclusive drop in PCs to be magnets. Regardless, it's AWESOME!
I find it hilarious that people accuse Techland of not understanding PCs by having magnets spawn in them. You people are aware that hard drives have magnets in them, right?
That and IIRC hard drives are only vulnerable to magnets when the drive isn't spinning. Obviously not the magnets in the drive itself though.
Oh man, There are SO many infected in the area with the speaker quest. Also, at about level 40, they can climb ladders.
Overall, I didn't find the game as good as I wished it to be. The quests were not too complex, it usually was just like "get to x, kill zombies on the way, and come back with y", it wasn't really fun doing it. Plus driving around the island was pretty boring. I would probably get tons of boxes for saying that, but hey, thats my opinion

First, I don't think driving around the island is a major point of the game. Sure, you have to use cars for some quests and they can help you trek that 500 meters faster, but I like walking to my destinations, so I can kill zombies by throwing sledgehammers at their faces one-handed. Another thing, try not to make the quests your main focus, try and find the 500 different ways you can kill a zombie, and in doing so you happen to complete the quest you are on. And you can always mod your game, like the Fist of the Dead Star, that shit's hilarious.
I always thought that finding magnets in PC's was supposed to be a nod to those old pranks people would pull on their friends in order to 'speed up their PC's'.
After visiting finallyfast.com, my games are running better than ever with the power of magnets!

FUCK I JUST IMPULSE BOUGHT THIS AND NOW I'M MAD AT MYSELF
Someone please justify the £30 I just lost please?
Well one playthrough lasts about 10+ hours without sidequests.
Anybody feel like playing some co-op in about an hour or so?

FUCK I JUST IMPULSE BOUGHT THIS AND NOW I'M MAD AT MYSELF
Someone please justify the £30 I just lost please?
Are you not able to run it the game, or is it just uninteresting to you?
Just bought this off of UG for 26$. Good trade?
Just bought this off of UG for 26$. Good trade?
I paid 50 bucks for mine, and it was worth every penny to me. Dead Island is my favorite game of 2011 so far, and will probably stay there until Skyrim comes out. Just play it and see if you like it, for 26 bucks I don't think you can go wrong even if you don't end up becoming a huge fan of the game.

I left the game paused for a bit, and came back to find that the current quest I was on (The one with the HELP sign at the lighthouse) had completed itself and the thug I was fighting had disappeared. Several other quests had completed themselves too. Definitely a bug, but maybe not a bad one. Analog control is really starting to grow on me, too. Just figured out that it "locks on" to body parts, neat. Now, if only I had gotten to kill that thug that randomly disappeared, I would have had a lot of fun with him.
Are you not able to run it the game, or is it just uninteresting to you?
I was sort of on the fence and then got buyer's remorse after buying it. After playing 67 minutes of it i'm enjoying it, though i'm a bit lost at the moment. Maybe I should start doing the main quest.

Somebody coulda joined your game and completed some missions for you hahahaha.
I bought this game yesterday and I have to say, I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I'm fortunate enough to have a co-op buddy to play with as well, the game is also very good at making us shit bricks, we were in the town and a ladder to a roof was on a car, but a big straight jacket guy and a few walkers were around it. Never have we screamed so loud at 1am.
I got about 50hours of gameplay on Purna alone and I am level 42/43 I am so in love with this game! I am still searching for mccalls 9mm rare drop and the crowd pleaser.

Use fast travel (even to travel to the place you're already at), it's pretty much like a save.
