Well I've been using a 650 damage magnum I found (800+ with upgrades) since I figured that'd be a good way of judging firearm capabilities. It's worthless. I also have a 350 damage assault rifle, but that's proven utterly worthless as well. I just found a new shotgun, but it took three point-blank shots to kill a single Infected.
Find better stuff, when you gain more levels hopefully you'll get lucky with random loot and will be able to mow zombies down with higher tier shotguns and rifles.
I'm really disappointed with pistols. Magnums are my favorite gun type, and it's a real kick in the balls to have them all suck ass in a game like this. I'm too lazy to mod that out, I don't mind sticking with my shottie/auto rifle.

Magnums arent a good pick with purna since you wont be able to modify the magnum to get the 30% + damage. Magnums are also to slow to act good, the heavy pistols normally work way better but always have the modification with the skill on it and then you will surprisingly say "pistols are suddenly good wtf" Really man. That skill also makes every fast shooting grey modified pistol stronger than a blue magnum.
Hang on, are there any more mods for guns other than detox, shock, and pride mods?

There is also the storm mod, also the fire mod which is incredibly good against these puking fat zombies.
Guns are meant to be used in some situations, only place you get ammo is the city and prison - i never used my assault rifle until I came across a HUGE horde in one of the later prison bits so I just sprayed them all and walked through.
katana > gun

What. You can create ammunition, buying ammunition is a waste. 28 rounds of pistol ammo for 2 scrap metal and one cleaner which I bought in masses for 30k to create the ammunition on the way. Repairing melee weapons is more costy than ammunition creation process.
Where can you get diamonds fast?
I'm in Act 2
I only found 1 bottle of champagne
Does even one person here know shit about firearms and is ATLEAST at his 2nd playthrough? Because one playthrough won't get you good at using firearms correctly..
Like I said before "With right tactics you can use firarms everytime and everywhere without worries, glitches or cheats" and if you can't think of a way ask me or keep unknowing.

Yeah, nah, you're a cunt.
Tactic one with Purna and Firearms:
Rammers:
Rammers get easily taken out on detox modded pistols, you need purna and the "Wunderwaffe" skill + the critical skills so you get an 1 in 4-5 critical hit which activates your mod on the gun. It does not matter where to hit him just make an critical hit with an pistol and he will start to vomit (get the skill with 60% longer effect time) while he vomits he can't attack and you can take him out with an cheap to repair weapon or just blast his face with an shotgun.

Thanks but you need to be atleast lvl 35 with that, seriously the skills purna haves later in the survival and combat tree are needed. My 2nd playthrough consistet of 95% firearms, and to ensure that I put all my melee weapons in the storage.
Firearms are weak on the first playthrough because your skilltree and your lvl it's simple as that, I am stating a fact and you are calling me a cunt thank you.

Yeah I know, I have a purple same level as me (38) Pride-modded Heavy Pistol fully upgraded with all my firearms skills maxed and it's still rubbish unless it crits (which it almost never does despite having all crit stuff maxed as well. )I just don't like pistols at all because they're executed poorly when it comes to zombie combat.
I still use it on the zombies to mess around though if I feel like conserving ammo elsewhere, it just shouldn't take 5-8 headshots to down one walker with a super-deagle.
I man really, what sense is it that a level 28 pride modded green autorrifle can 1-3 shot common zombies, but a level 38 pride modded purple deagle takes 5-8 headshots and god knows how many body shots?

I'm on my 2nd playthrough as purna, and I was actually doing great with firearms from my first playthrough around 48% game progression. I know what I'm doing, it's not my fault the devs ruined pistols.
Shotguns and rifles are fine.
Yeah I know, I have a purple same level as me (38) Pride-modded Heavy Pistol fully upgraded with all my firearms skills maxed and it's still rubbish unless it crits. I just don't like pistols at all because they're executed poorly when it comes to zombie combat.

Why does it take 5-8 shots? For me it usually takes 2-3 and mostly 1 with an critical hit. Weird but I think the last skill in the survival skilltree adds to penetration, critical value and damage value of the modificated 30%+damage skill on top with 25% because it kinda works for me.
I would've preferred ammo to be much more rare, but all firearms do a lot more damage. I think they should've been an emergency weapon of sorts. Like you're backed into a corner and need to drop something fast. So you pull out your handgun, 2-3 shots, you're out and running again. I'd also like it if the zombies were attracted to gunfire as well, so you'd have to pick and choose because of the sound risk.
I still would feel like cheating when the pistols would get any better for me. Maybe that's the last skill in survival and all firearms skills combined together.
Ammo is basicly unlimited when you carry the materials bought from shops with you to make more, then the skill for that and you can always keep gathered firearms in your inventory and if you run out of ammo just drop them and these guns give you the one mag inside it.

I have no idea, this thing has great stats but it just doesn't perform well at all excluding crits.
Also, I have all the firearms skills completely maxed, it's still rubbish. It's not entirely useless as it's good on infected but anything else I need to use my autorifle or shottie, or I'll be chugging pistol ammo like crazy.
Just beat the game, ending was kinda meh. Now, how do start a new game with my characters stuff? and also what other person should i pick for the new play through? I played with Purna and didn't really use guns much at all.

You just select your character from the main menu and it does a New Game + sort of thing.
Also, I've been replaying as Xian Mei (Blades chick) her combat tree is AMAZING, but her survival tree is kinda shitty. It's not mega-bad, but it's nowhere near as good as Purna's. I'd recommend her just for the combat tree.

The poison and bleeding skills attract me a bit to her :v: I love puking zombies they are funny to watch.
hotel kitchen has MORE CHAMPAGNE
Can you still go back after you completed that mission cause Idon't think I can
Thanks, now to choose between Sam B. and Xian Mei or whatever the knife chick is.
The poison and bleeding skills attract me a bit to her :v: I love puking zombies they are funny to watch.
I just wish they did more than 1 looping puke sound for all the zombies. I had this one zombie in a sewer get stuck in that toxic stuff and he puked himself to death slowly for about 15 minutes.
The only thing I don't like about Xian, and it's not even her fault per se, is that until later in the game you'll find bladed weapons are very brittle. I'm an axeman personally, so once you get to Act 2 and they start spawning it's not so bad.
Weapon duplicating bug still exists, so for the moment weapon durability is a nonissue.
Quick, make a floater sick and see if it loses weight.
Also durability is never an issue with Logan, I like throwing Homerun Bats at enemies and watching them fly backwards.
Weapon duplicating bug still exists, so for the moment weapon durability is a nonissue.
Yeah, but I don't like to use exploits. I could mod it to my liking anyway if I wanted, but with all the durability boosting skills it's fine by me - keeps the balance.
i nEED MORE CHAMPAGNE
