Well, I called it probably earlier in the thread, and I'm back to say I don't give a shit if it's RPG like because it's still exhilarating, scary, and atmospheric. But also fun as fuck to bash in some skulls.
I don't know, I always find myself having more fun with subpar games like this as opposed to AAA titles like cowadoody and the Battlefield series.

You can change it so that you have 3 private slots rather than 3 public slots. :3
I had "random twats" playing with me for the last few sidemissions and main mission of the city. They didn't even know each other either, but they behaved well, killed well, and didn't skip through my dialogue as I had asked. Pretty cool doods.
We got to the jungle, I tore through there like Sébastien Loeb and we reached the safe zone. [sp]The chick[/sp] starts to talk to the people there and suddenly...
SKIPSKIPSKIPSKIPSKIPSKIPSKIPSKIPSKIPSKIPSKIPSKIP
...and that was the last time I played online since, or even Dead Island at all for that matter. I guess I'll look up the part in a walkthrough/playthrough to see what was said. I was getting really immersed in the story at that stage. :smith:

I think my game is bugged. The main quest says I need to do some quests for the [sp]scientists[/sp], but I'm not getting any sort of quest markers or anything.
I am lost in the jungle, and there's some dudes with AK's shooting at me for no reason.

Oh my god, I just saw the most amazing thing I've ever encountered in DI.
You know those punks with melee weapons that run out of a store in Moresby and attack you? Well there was a ram right next to it, AND ONE OF THE PUNKS TRIED TO FIGHT THE RAM.
The ram just turns around and PUNTS the guy, who flies straight back into a wall and dies. Literally STRAIGHT BACK, I watched damage floaters zip across the screen in a completely horizontal line.
I have never wished for a replay feature more in a game.

After watching trailer I was so excited bout this game, but when I read some of the reviews I understood it's not worth my money. Sad.

I dunno, bro. It IS pretty worth your dosh.
So, [sp]saving the Russian guy and taking him to the bunker then getting surprise killed by the floater in it[/sp] causes the game to glitch the fuck up, taking you from chapter 3 to chapter 5, removing all your quests and overwriting your save, making it impossible to load a previous save.
I'm laying off Dead Island until they release a patch that makes it bloody [b]playable[/b] after that experience.

The main issues that a lot of reviewers had were that they expected something different from it.
It's a good game and it's a fun game if you play it similar to stalker. Wondering around and doing sidequests for people and shit.

Pretend that trailer never existed, the game is still good either way.
Also never take a critics word for anything, you can decide what is and what isn't fun for yourself. They may be able to point out game breaking flaws in facts, but if they say it's a letdown because the actual game differs from a CGI trailer then fuck them.

The fact that some people are put off from getting this because the game differs from a dramatic CGI trailer just saddens me. Their loss I guess.

Holy shit, what the fuck does this game run on DX9? I get extreme lag on a high end PC. I can run Metro 2033 max settings on DX10 or DX11 but when any of my games is on DX9 it lags like crazy. Any way to change what Direct Ex configuration?
Tesla mod is by far the most hilarious mod. Critical hit a zombie in one of the pools and watched as everything flew twenty feet backwards apart from its legs.
Still doesn't beat the time I threw a machete into a thug and watched him fly backwards, legs stuck on the top of a wall and as soon as I get around the corner a huge pool of blood with a machete stuck in the concrete.
I wanted to do legit play throughs but all of my coop friends have either abandoned me or fucked our saves up.
Looks like the update's working now, right off the bat they fixed the dupe exploit.
Any patch notes?
Anybody got a solution to my DX9/lag problems?
